Mary Jewell Hinsley

Mrs. Mary Jewell Tollison Hinsley, age 72, resident of Lockesburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000 at her home.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 3 in Elrod cemetery near Burgess Falls, Tenn.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 7 in Rock Hill Baptist Church with Rev. John Henry Williams and Rev. James Gathright officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.

She was born June 7, 1927 in Sparta, Tenn., to Pleas and Lottie Massa Tollison; was a retired employee of Beard-Poulan; and a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, Pleas Tollison.

She is survived by one son, Jimmy Hinsley of Lockesburg; two daughters, Sharon Dorsey of Lockesburg and Sonya Hofert of Texarkana, Tex.; two sisters, Ida Hulse of Cookeville, Tenn., and Lucille Dunsmore of Sparta, Tenn.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Ila Serena Mann

Mrs. Ila Serena Anderson Mann, age 75, resident of De Queen, died Sunday, June 11, 2000 in Christus St. Michael Health Care Center in Texarkana.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 14 in McHorse cemetery with Rev. Eddie Schlinker officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.

She was born Friday, Oct. 24, 1924 in Provo to Marcus Elige and Minnie Ola Ligon Anderson. She was a retired licensed practical nurse with De Queen Regional Medical Center; and a member of the Pentecostal Church of God of De Queen.

She is survived by one son, Kenneth Mann of De Queen; one daughter, Serena Cusson of Evansville; two brothers, Lowell Anderson of Walla Walla, Wash., and V.C. Anderson of Augusta, Ga.; two sisters, Ethel Houser of Nashville and Margaret Robinson of Clear Lake, Calif.; six grandchildren; Seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will be at the home of Kenneth Mann.

Curtis Palmer Green

Curtis Palmer Green, age 62, resident of Ashdown, died Thursday, June 8, 2000 in a Dallas Texas hospital.

Memorial services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 11 in First United Methodist Church of Lockesburg with Rev. John Miller officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen.

He was born Sept. 24, 1937 in Brownsfield, Tex.; served in the U.S. Army; was a contract specialist for the Little Rock District of the U.S. Corps of Engineers at Millwood Lake; a registered landscape architect; a 32 degree Mason with the Belleville Masonic Lodge; and attended the Church on the Rock in Texarkana.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel Maurine Rogers Green of Ashdown; one son Lyndell Scott Green of Arlington, Tex.; one daughter, Nancy Elizabeth Green of Oakland, Calif.; one brother, Stephen Jay Green of Arlington, Tex.; one sister, Carolyn Green of Littlefield, Tex.; three granddaughters; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Stevens Johnson Syndrom Foundation, 9285 N. Utica Street, West Minister, Colo. 80030.

Louise Abney Miller

Mrs. Louise Abney Miller, age 72, resident of Lockesburg, died Sunday, June 11, 2000 in De Queen Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 13 in Old Union cemetery with Rev. Fred Smith officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.

She was born Wednesday, Dec. 14, 1927 in Seminole, Okla., to the late Oscar A. and Daisey Cannon Abney. She was a homemaker; and a Baptist. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Raymond Miller, who died Jan. 21, 2000.

She is survived by one sister, Eurby Maynard of Winthrop; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Grace Irene Morris

Mrs. Grace Irene Gideon Morris, age 83, resident of De Queen, died Saturday, June 3, 2000 in De Queen Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 14 in Oak Grove cemetery, west of Wickes, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

She was born June 4, 1916 at Reed Springs, Mo.; was a homemaker; and a Baptist. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Morris, in 1997.

She is survived by two sons, Robin Morris of Wickes and Jerry Maish of Washington; two brothers, Ralph Dale Gideon of California and Jerry Allen of Railroad Flat, Calif.; one sister, Sally Robero of Railroad Flat, Calif.; five grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mary V. Wood

Mary V. Reed Wood, age 70, resident of Broken Bow, Okla., died Sunday, June 11, 2000 in McCurtain memorial Hospital in Idabel, Okla.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 14 in Brumely-McCurtain Funeral Home Chapel at Broken Bow with Bro. Bernard Escalante and Rev. Neil Jackson officiating. Burial followed in Broken Bow cemetery.

She was born June 19, 1929 in Broken Bow, Okla., to the late Paul and Mary Bender. She was a nurse and enjoyed taking care of others, especially the elderly. She was predeceased by her husband Johnie Reed.

She is survived by one son, Joe Bob Reed of Holly Creek Community; two daughters, Sandy Kay McGowen and Juan Nelle Bowen, both of Broken Bow, Okla.; four brothers, Bob Bender and Charles Bender, both of Broken Bow, Jerry Bender of Chandler, Okla., and Paul Bender Jr. of Idabel, Okla.; two sisters, Josephine Parker of De Queen and Pauline Edwards of Phoenix, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Beva Grace Frady

Mrs. Beva Grace Goodwin Frady, age 81, resident of Horatio, died Monday, June 12, 2000 at her home.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 15 in First Baptist Church of Horatio with Rev. Kevin Johnson and Rev. Joe Waldon officiating. Burial followed in Horatio cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.

She was born Sunday, Oct. 13, 1918 in Calico Rock to the late Elbert Samuel and Sarah Josephine Ivy Goodwin. She was a homemaker; and a member of First Baptist Church of Horatio. She was predeceased by her husband, Willie D. Frady, on Nov. 6, 1995.

She is survived by three daughters, Beva Jean Wisenbaker of Houston, Tex., Billie Carol Willis of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Judy Maelyn Farley of Shinewell, Okla.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will be at the home of Judy Farley in Shinewell.

Currey Wade Jones

Currey Wade Jones, age 40, resident of Arthur City, Tex., and formerly of De Queen, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000.

Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14 in Fry-Gibbs Funeral Chapel with Elmer L'Roy and Haskel England officiating. Burial followed in Prairie Ridge cemetery.

He was born Oct. 11, 1960 in Greenville, Tex., to Alvin Currey and Patricia Mae Hackler Jones; was a construction worker; served in the Army; and was a member of the Church of Christ.

He is survived by his parents, Alvin and Patricia Jones of Paris, Tex.; one sister, Tammye Kaye Hawkins of Paris, Tex.; his grandparents, L.G. and Mae Hackler of Paris, and Lee F. Jones; two nieces and one nephew.
