Loretta Jane Miller
Loretta Jane Miller, age 35, resident of Leesville, La., died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005 at Anacoco, La.
She is survived by her husband, Garry Miller of Leesville, La.; one son, John Ellis Higgins of Mena; her parents, Ann Broch of Vandervoort and Bill Wright of Decator, Ill.; one brother, Sterling Wright; two sisters, Judie Jones of Grannis and Polly Dunte of Halesworth, England; step-mother, Shirley Higgins of Mena; three stepbrothers, Dale Higgins of Wickes, Johnny Higgins of Tomahawk, Wisc., and Jimmy Higgins of Hot Springs; one stepdaughter, Tammy Higginbothem of Junction, La.; one stepson, Eric Miller of Horatio; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 24 in Glade Branch Baptist Church of Cravens, La., with Rev. Russell DeVore and Rev. Bobbie Allen officiating. Burial followed in Drakes Ford cemetery under the direction of Myers Colonial Funeral Home, DeRidder, La.
Visitation was from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Nancy Lambert
Mrs. Nancy Ann Forrest Lambert, age 61, resident of De Queen, died Saturday, April 9, 2005 in the Christus St. Michael Health System, Texarkana, Texas.
She was born to Custer Lee and Bessie Marie Johnson Forrest, at Winthrop, Arkansas, on February 18, 1944. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of De Queen, and was a homemaker. She enjoyed camping, sewing, and especially spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Richard Forrest, Robert Forrest, and James Forrest, three sisters, Susie Keeton, Nell Bean, and Linda Wilcox, and a step- daughter, Rose Busby.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Charles Dennis Lambert of De Queen; one daughter and son-in-law, Krista and Bill Ward of De Queen; two grandchildren, Brandon Ward and Kandice Ward both of De Queen; one great-grandchild, Bailey Ward of De Queen; four brothers, Sammy Forrest, Steve Forrest, Roy Forrest all of Winthrop, Ark.; and Donald Forrest of Idabel, Okla. and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Lambert were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2005 in the Campground cemetery with Bro. Audie Dawson and Bro. Steve Woods officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
The family received friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 11, 2005.
Nancy Ann Lambert
Nancy Ann Forrest Lambert, age 61, resident of De Queen, died Saturday, April 9, 2005 in Christus St. Michael Health System, Texarkana, Tex.
She was born Feb. 18, 1944 at Winthrop to Custer Lee and Bessie Marie Johnson Forrest; was a member of First Assembly of God Church of De Queen; and a homemaker.

Christie Lynn Ross
Christie Lynn Ross, age 26, resident of Horatio, died Friday, April 8, 2005 in an automobile accident in Oklahoma.
She was born Feb. 15, 1979 in Garland, Tex.; and was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Destiney Ross of De Queen and Telisha Nicole Matney of Horatio; one son, Donovan Charles Ross of Ft. Worth, Tex.; her mother, Debbie Massey of De Queen; her stepfather, Charles Massey of Gillham; and a sister, Melissa Harris of Gillham.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 12 in Chapel Hill cemetery with Rev. Wesley Blankenship officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Cheryl Lynn Murchison
Cheryl Lynn Murchison, age 51, resident of Nashville, died Wednesday, April 7, 2005 at her home.
She was born Aug. 4, 1953 to Leo and Little Presley Roberts.
She is survived by one son, Jeremy Murchison; one daughter, Marcy Farmer of Wilton; four sisters; seven grandchildren; and one grandson.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 9 at Old Center cemetery near Horatio, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.
Grady K. Sherwood
Grady K. “G.K.” Sherwood, age 73, resident of Mena, died Saturday, April 9, 2005 in Ft. Smith.
He was born Sept. 14, 1931 in Hatton to Charles and Bessie Armstrong Sherwood; was a timber worker and an oil field worker by profession; and a member of the Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers; and one sister.
He is survived by four sons, Farolyn Sherwood and Wayne Sherwood, both of Imperial, Tex., Grady L. Sherwood of Plunketville, Okla., and Tracy Sherwood; three daughters, Paula Delacerda of Odessa, Tex., Pam Brown of Coos Bay, Ore., and Denis Baker of Hatfield; one brother, Marion Sherwood of Wickes; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 12 in Molly Ducket-Taylor Chapel with Bro. George Crump officiating. Interment followed in Daniel cemetery in Wickes, under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
Edward Meehan Bartholomew
Edward Meehan Bartholomew, 70, of Conway, Ark. passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at his home.
He was born August 2, 1934 in Eugene, Ore., to the late William Henry Bartholomew, Sr. and Mary Meehan Bartholomew.
He graduated from the University of Oregon in 1961, served on the De Queen City Council, retired from Weyerhaeuser as a Human Resource Manager after 36 years, and was an Army veteran.
Survivors are his three sons, Steve and Mandy Bartholomew of Idabel, Okla., Dave and Beth Bartholomew of Little Rock, Ark., Kevin and Lisa Bartholomew of Conway; five grandchildren, Lauren, Alexandra, Reid, Matt and Elisabeth; and one sister, Maureen Proulx of Eugene.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, William Henry Bartholomew, Jr., Robert Paul Bartholomew, and Charles Roy Bartholomew.
A memorial service was held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, at Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen, AR.
Floyd Edgar Staggs
Mr. Floyd Edgar Staggs, age 70, resident of Dalby Springs, Texas, departed to be with the Lord, April 7, 2005.
Mr. Staggs was born to George and Mamie Chandler Staggs on August 4, 1934 in Horatio, Arkansas. He was a retired minister, and a retired carpenter from Red River Army Depot. He was a member of the Church of God of New Boston, Texas, and a good man in faith.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, a great-granddaughter, Victoria E. Smithey, and a niece, DeRenda Staggs.
Survivors include his wife and friend, Patsy Staggs; his four children, Vada, Wayne, Paul and Carol; his four step-chidlren, Ann, Janise, Debbie, and Dennis; one sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and James Archer of Ardmore, Okla.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Juanita Staggs of Horatio, Ark.; Donald and Laura Staggs of Miami, Okla., and Ernest Staggs of De Queen, Ark.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Staggs were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 11, 2005 at the Church of God in New Boston, Texas, with Rev. Charles Wylie officiating. Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday in the Old Center cemetery, Horatio, Ark., under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen, Ark.
The family received friends Sunday, April 10, 2005 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Chandler Funeral Home. Our Heavenly Father carried him home on a whelm; to prepare a place for his family within; Oh how we look forward to the day that we see him again, With love, from his family and friends, Amen.
