Audrie Maxine Williams
Mrs. Audrie Maxine Duggan Williams, age 75, resident of Eagletown, Okla., died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001 in Miami Baptist Regional Hospital in Miami, Okla.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23 in Eagletown Assembly of God Church with Rev. Ron Frazier officiating. Burial followed in Eagletown cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.
She was born Jan. 31, 1925 in Overturf Community in Polk County to the late Benjamin Franklin and Clara Carter Duggan; was a graduate of Gillham High School; and a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Allen Williams on Aug. 19, 1997.
She is survived by three sons, Kennith Williams of Ada, Okla., Michael Williams of Broken Bow, Okla., and Howard Williams of Eagletown, Okla.; three daughters, Janice Dedert of Lawton, Okla., Patsy Leonard of Eagletown, Okla., and Sherry Nash of Chetopa, Kan.; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Flora Rink Morrison
Flora Rink Morrison, age 91, resident of Horatio and formerly of De Queen, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22 in Gillham cemetery at Gillham, with Rev. Fred Smith officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.
She was born Jan. 13, 1910 in Quitman, Tex. She was predeceased in death by her husband, Charles P. Morrison in 1978; one grandson, Bret Lamar Morrison in 1990; and one sister, Ethel Whitley.
She is survived by one son, Don P. Morrison of Baton Rouge, La.; one daughter, Joan Morrison France of Horatio; two sisters, Frankie Brooks and Jeffie Johnson, both of De Queen; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Coe Stemple
Mr. Coe Stemple, age 94, resident of Gillham, Arkansas, died Sunday, January 21, 2001 in the De Queen Regional Medical Center, De Queen.
He was born to Ira and Hiet Chewning Stemple on September 7, 1906 in the Oklahoma Territory, now Tipton, Oklahoma. He was retired from the Arkansas State Forestry Commission and was a farmer. He was a member of the De Queen Church of Christ, and was a 32 Degree Mason in the Silver Hill Masonic Lodge of Gillham.
Mr. Stemple was preceded in death by his first wife, Cora Sheppard Stemple; a brother, Cue Stemple; and two sisters: Iris Hamby and Ima George.
He is survived by his wife, Faris Baker Stemple of Brookewood Nursing Center, De Queen; one son and daughter-in -law; Don and Patsy Stemple of Gillham, Ark.; two grandchildren: Dale Stemple of Amarillo, Texas; Shanna Standridge and husband, Scott of Lindsay, Okla.; three great-grandchildren; Coe Stemple of Amarillo, Texas; Rex Standridge and Allie Strandridge both of Lindsay, Oklahoma; a sister-in-law: Flora Stemple of De Queen; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Coe Stemple were held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 23, 2001 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Van Ledbetter, Minister of the Church of Christ officiating. Burial followed in the Daniel cemetery, Wickes, Ark. under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.
The family received friends at Chandler Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 22, 2001.
Henry Martin
Mr. Henry Ervin Martin, age 81, resident of De queen, died Saturday, January 20, 2001 in the De Queen Regional Medical Center.
He was born to Henry and Ida Green Martin, March 12, 1919, in Cleburne County, Arkansas. He was retired from the restaurant and apartment business, a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of the De Queen Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene Hosey Martin of De Queen; five sons: Gary Henry Martin of De Queen; Randall Wayne Martin and Ricky Lynn Martin both of Grannis, Arkansas; Lendall Arnold Martin of Vandervoort, Arkansas; and Michael Hazen Martin of Glenwood, Arkansas; three stepdaughters: Sharon Diaz of De Queen; Carolyn NG of Forest Park, Georgia; and Valerie Levine of Rockport, Texas; three brothers: Kenneth Martin of Bullhead City, Arizona; Milburn Martin of Van Couver, Washington; and Lloyd Martin of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one sister: Mildred Aslin of Longview, Washington; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 22, 2001, in the De Queen Church of Christ with Van Ledbetter, Minister of the Church of Christ officiating. Burial followed in Redmen cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Stephen Michael Tremblay
Stephen Michael "Trom" Tremblay, age 19, resident of Lockesburg, died Friday, March 16, 2001 at De Queen Regional Medical Center.
A rosary service was held at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 18 in Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Father John Kerr officiating.
Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 19 in St. Barbara's Catholic Church with Father John Kerr officiating. Burial followed in Lockesburg cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen.
He was born Nov. 12, 1981 at Texarkana, Tex.; was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church of Ashdown; and an employee of Service Paint of Ashdown.
He is survived by his parents, Michael and Tammy Tremblay of Lockesburg; two brothers, Joseph Lee Tremblay and Nicholas Owen Tremblay, both of Lockesburg; paternal grandparents, Ordo and Constance Tremblay of Ashdown; maternal grandparents, Emanuel Lee and Hazel Elizabeth Owen of Lockesburg; and maternal great-grandmothers, Bessie Compton of Virginia and Fannie Ella Owen of Mississippi.
Patsy Ann Wilson
Mrs. Patsy Ann Hennard Wilson, age 62, resident of De Queen, died Friday, March 16, 2001 in Baptist Medical Center at Little Rock.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 19 in Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Bowlin officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Ida cemetery.
She was born June 28, 1938 to Roy and Gertie Mae Ross Hennard in Shreveport, La.; was a member of First Baptist Church of Midland, Tex.; a member of the Hospital Auxiliary where she served as president; was chairperson for the Sevier County Republican Party; a homemaker; and a caregiver.
She is survived by one son, Michael H. Wilson of Maumelle; three daughters, Tamera Jean Corley of Midland, Tex., Sharon Lynn Wilson of Dallas, Tex., and Laura Ann Siewert of Abilene, Tex.; her mother, Gertie Hennard of De Queen; two brothers, Don Hennard and David Hennard, both of De Queen; one sister, Marilyn Houser of De Queen; three grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Ozella Gertrude Reese
Mrs. Ozella Gertrude Wood Reese, age 87, resident of Dierks, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001 in the Nashville Nursing Center in Nashville.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 22 in the Church of Christ at Dierks with Lowell Lites and James McRae, ministers, officiating. Burial followed in Center Point cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.
Viewing will be at the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in Dierks.
She was born Aug. 26, 1913 in Fordyce to the late John Baylor and Elmer Jewel Hearn Wood; was a homemaker; former owner of The Dress Shoppe in Dierks; and a member of Dierks Church of Christ. She was predeceased by her husband, Jeff D. Reese, in 1965.
She is survived by two sons, Mike Reese of Nashville and Jimmy Reese of Wake Village; one daughter, Nancy Gardner of Nashville; one brother, Floyd Wood of Little Rock; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Elmer Hess
Mr. Elmer Wayne Hess, age 74, a resident of Winthrop, Arkansas, died Thursday, March 15, 2001 at the Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas.
He was born on July 4, 1926 in Winthrop, Arkansas to the late William Christopher and Lena Verda Schlup Hess. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was retired from Little River County, was a sawmiller, and a truck driver. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Winthrop.
He is survived by his wife: Juanita Morgan Hess of Winthrop; three sons and daughters-in-law: Gary Wayne and Sally Hess of Texarkana, Arkansas, Terry Allen and Melba Hess and Ricky Dean and Sharon Hess, all of Winthrop, Arkansas; one daughter and son-in-law: Barbara and Charlie Martin of Winthrop, Arkansas; three brothers and two sisters-in-law: Alfred Hess of Ashdown, Arkansas, Jerry and Nelda Hess of Winthrop, Arkansas, and Franklin and Diane Hess of Valliant, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren: Sonia Anderson, Charles Wayne Martin, Cindy Davis, Chad Hess, Amber Hess, Derek Hess, Eddie Oglesby, Misty Moody, and Michael Thornberry; six great-grandchildren: Haley Martin, Gracie Martin, Matthew Magby, Logan Anderson, Skyler Anderson and Kenton Oglesby; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Hess were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2001 at the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Winthrop, Arkansas with Don Ivans and Leroy Morgan officiating. Burial followed in the Campground cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.
The family received friends from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
