Neda Cobb-Mooneyham

Neda E. (Moody) Cobb-Mooneyham, 63, Eagletown, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at her home. She was born October 9, 1937, at Ben Lomond, Arkansas, the daughter of Tye Raymond and Ruby Cobb.

A homemaker, she was affiliated with Dilworth Presbyterian Church, and had lived in this area for 30 years, moving from Horatio, Arkansas. Neda enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and was especially a fan of the late Dale Earnhardt. She also enjoyed playing bingo, the lottery, and the scratch-offs.

She was preceded in death by her father, Tye Raymond Cobb; three brothers, William Earnest Cobb, Tye DeWayne Cobb, and Howard Lewis Cobb; and one sister, Marietha Elizabeth Cobb.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Ruby Conatser Cobb, De Queen; a special friend, Billy W. Nelson, Eagletown; one son, Cecil Ray "Bubba" Griffin, Eagletown, Billy J. Baker, whom she thought of as a son, also of Eagletown; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Todd Marable, Eagletown, and Elizabeth (Prissy) and Bret Emerson, De Queen; one brother and sister-in-law, Roy Gene and Carol Cobb, Horatio; seven grandchildren, Michelle and Robert Gipson, Wright City, Jared Marable, Dustin Dabbs, and Jessica Baker, all of Eagletown, Sarah Griffin, Garvin, and Desiree Emerson, De Queen; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Reedy and Ember Reedy; several aunts and uncles; one niece; and five nephews.

Services were at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 14, at Eagletown Assembly of God with Bro. Jeff Smith and Cy Davis officiating under the direction of Brumley-McCurtain Funeral Home of Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Burial followed in Eagletown cemetery.

Family received friends from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m., Friday, April 13, at Brumley-McCurtain Chapel.

Delia Mae Bailey

Mrs. Delia Mae McClure Bailey, age 93, resident of De Queen, died Wednesday, June 6, 2001 in the Dierks Nursing Center.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 9 in New Bethel cemetery with Bro. J.W. Gilbert and Bro. Wesley Blankenship officiating under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home of Nashville.

She was born Nov. 8, 1907 in Nathan to the Late Thomas Mason and Lucy Alice Westfall McClure; and was a member of Mt. Carmel Mission Baptist Church in Dierks. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Lee Bailey; and a grandson, Jerry Haskell Parker.

She is survived by two daughters, Effie Lee Parker of Dierks and Dessie Mae Reed of De Queen; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the home of Effie Lee Parker in the Mt. Carmel Community.

Phyllis Carroll

Phyllis Carroll, age 79, resident of Nashville, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001 in a Texarkana hospital.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16 in Latimer Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Blasé officiating. Burial followed in Restland Memorial Park.

She was born March 25, 1922 at Springfield, Mo., to the late Oscar and Trucilla Clark Evins; and was a member of First Baptist Church and the Copeland Sunday school class. She was predeceased by her husband, Boyce Dale Carroll; and a sister, Lucille Chambers.

She is survived by two sons, James Carroll of Texarkana a and Stephen Carroll of Nashville; a daughter, Patsy Carroll Tanner of Sheridan; three brothers, Chester Evins of Austin, Tex., Calvin Evins of Gainsville, Tex., and Carroll Evins of Bartlett, Tenn.; two sisters, Dorothy Pennick of De Queen and Wanda Foster of Mena; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Library.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 15 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Norma Juanita Hargrove

Mrs. Norma Juanita Fredrick Hargrove, age 79, resident of Lockesburg, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001 in De Queen Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 14 in First Baptist Church of Lockesburg with Rev. Jay McAllister officiating. Burial followed in Lockesburg cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.

She was born Feb. 15, 1922 in Oklahoma to the late O.D. and Maggie Fredrick; was a homemaker; and a member of First Baptist Church of Lockesburg. She was predeceased by her husband, Buss Hargrove on Feb. 8, 1983.

She is survived by a daughter, Kaye Dowdle of Kansas City, Mo.; three sons, Ray Hargrove of Lockesburg, Larry Hargrove and Joey Hargrove, both of De Queen; a sister, Mildred Tipton of Umpire; two brothers, O.D. Fredrick of Ft. Smith and Herbert Fredrick of Ashdown; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Sybil Lazell Reville

Sybil Lazell Reville, age 75, resident of Grove, Okla., died Tuesday, June 12, 2001 at her home.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 14 in Olympus cemetery with Rev. Sam Carper officiating, under the direction of Ellis Family Funeral Home of Grove.

She was born June 16, 1925 in De Queen to William E. and Effie Mae Mealer Caswell; worked as a Registered Nurse; and a member of Women of the Moose, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and Elks Club.

She is survived by her husband Doyd Reville of Grove, Okla.; two daughters, Belinda Dill of Rufe, Okla., and Doylene Thompson of Paris, Tex.; a sister, Kathleen Fowler of Millerton, Okla.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 2116 s. Main Suite 315, Grove, Okla. 74344.

Mary Elizabeth West

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth West, age 74, resident of Texarkana, Tex., died Tuesday, May 29, 2001 in a local hospital.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 31 in Fuqua-Everett Memorial Chapel at Texarkana Funeral Home with Dr. Steven Gibbs officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

She was born Nov. 25, 1926 in Lockesburg; was a homemaker and a Baptist; and was a member of Border Chapter #211 of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Rebekah Lodge. She was predeceased by her husband, W.C. "Dub" West in 1998.

She is survived by a daughter, Anita Nettles of Texarkana, Tex.; a son, Carl West of Texarkana, Tex.; a sister, Winnie Welch of De Queen; a brother, Robert Bradshaw of DeRidder, La.; four grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Border Chapter #211 Order of the Eastern Star, 918 Westlawn Dr., Texarkana, Tex. 75501.

Jimmy Young

Jimmy Young, age 62, resident of Dierks, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001 in De Queen Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3 in Dierks Church of Christ with Lowell Lites, minister, officiating. Burial followed in Green’s Chapel cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

He was born April 2, 1939 in Washington to the late Andrew and Elvira Greene Young; was a United States Army veteran; a retired millwright; and a member of Dierks Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Young of Dierks; two sons, Bo Young of Springfield, Mo., and Tim Young of Dierks; one daughter, Pam Callahan of Eunice, La.; two brothers, Billy Tom Young of New Hope and Max Young of Dennard; four sisters, Betty Priddy of Dierks, Patsy Harper of Nashville, Lynda Osborn of Nathan, and Della Marshall of Mineral Springs; four granddaughters; one adopted granddaughter; two adopted grandsons; one great-grandson; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Viewing was at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in Dierks. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2 at the funeral home.

Jaded Bliss Pruitt

Jaded Bliss Pruitt, infant daughter of Jacky and Schrae Pruitt, residents of De Queen, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001 in De Queen.

Funeral services are pending and will be announced by Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

She was born July 1, 2001 in De Queen.

Besides her parents she is survived by paternal grandparents, Jack and Debbie Pruitt of De Queen, O’Neal and Lydia Bowers of De Queen; maternal grandparents, Ted and Barbara Swim of De Queen and her paternal great-grandmother, Pansy Davis of De Queen.
