John H. McKeever
John Henry McKeever, aged 52, resident of Fayetteville, died Monday, July 30, 2001 at Washington Regional Medical Center.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2 at Moore’s Chapel Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
He was born June 2, 1949 at De Queen, the son of Robert G. and Esther Ruth Dull McKeever. He was co-owner of Mid South Security Systems. He was a member of the National Fire and Burglar Alarm Association, the chamber of commerce and the National Federation of Independent Business.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Eagles; one daughter, Sheila Kronk of De Queen; one brother, Earl McKeever of Lincoln and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Mabel Priest
Mrs. Mabel Rachel Brown Madden Priest, aged 87, resident of Quitman, Texas and former resident of Foreman, died Friday, July 27, 2001 in Heritage Nursing Home in Quitman.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 29 in the Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen, with Bill Self officiating. Burial followed in Gravely cemetery, Foreman, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.
She was born to Arthur E. and Leon Cantley Brown in Greenville, Texas February 15, 1914. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Foreman, was a retired nurse’s aide and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Madden and Joseph Priest.
Survivors include three sons, John D. Madden, Shreveport, LA, Jerry Dean Madden, Linden, Texas and John Wayne Madden of Naples, Texas; four daughters, Jean Boyd and Wanda Hughes, both of Quitman, Texas, Judy Gandy of Lake Palestine, Texas and Georgia Pearson of Foreman; three brothers, Dewey Brown of Mesa, AZ, Cecil Brown of Ardmore, OK and Melvin Brown of Oklahoma City, OK; 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mary Frances Westbrook
Mrs. Mary Frances Westbrook, aged 60, resident of De Queen, died Thursday, July 26, 2001 at the U.A.M.S. Medical Center in Little Rock.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 30 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Henry Williams officiating. Burial followed in Chapel Hill cemetery.
She was born January 8, 1941 in Aurora, MO to the late Clyde and Marie Elsey Mackey. She was a member of the City of De Queen Board of Directors from 1978-1982. She retired from the De Queen Regional Hospital after 30 years as a LPN and was employed as a nurse with the Lockesburg School System for the past 12 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lockesburg.
Survivors include her husband, Don Westbrook Sr.; two sons, Donnie Wayne Westbrook and Robin Westbrook, all of De Queen; one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Baker of Texarkana, Texas; one brother, Ken Mackey of Scottsboro, NY; one sister, Betty Harris of Maylene, AL; five grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Snow Flake Young
Snow Flake Young, aged 85, resident of Umpire, died Friday, July 27, 2001.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 29 in the Umpire Free Holiness Church with Brothers Don Vaughn, Keith Vaughn and Scott Vaughn officiating. Burial was in the Cedar Hill cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home of Glenwood.
She was born January 21, 1916 at Umpire, the daughter of Jeff Davis and Ruthie Jane Blanton Davis. She was a member of the Umpire Free Holiness Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Oscar Thomas Young of Umpire; one son, R.B. Young of Ashdown; three daughters, Evelyn Manasco, Belva Pinkerton and Ruth Vaughn, all of Umpire; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Amy Cheyenne Hathcock
Amy Cheyenne Hathcock, infant daughter of Larry and Debbie Ainsworth Hathcock of Cove, died Sunday, July 29, 2001 at her home.
Graveside funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1 in the Cecil Chapel cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.
She was born July 17, 2001 in De Queen. Amy was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Peggy Faulkner.
Survivors include her parents; her maternal grandparents, Larry and Cathy Stallings of Cove; her paternal grandfather, R.C. Faulkner of Ramer, Tenn.; her maternal grandfather, David Ainsworth of Frenchmans Bayou, and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mrs. Virgie Kerr
Mrs. Virgie Pearl Wagner Beckwith Kerr, aged 78, resident of De Queen, died Wednesday, July 25, 2001 at the De Queen Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 28 at the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bob McManus officiating. Burial followed in the Witherspoon cemetery.
She was born September 1, 1922 in Grannis to the late Bert and Annie Belle Frances Wagner. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Gillham.
She is survived by two sons, Walter O’Dell Beckwith and Louis Homer Beckwith, both of De Queen; one sister, Jewel Frachiseur of Grannis; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Inez Chandler
Mrs. Inez Magdalene Quinn Chandler, aged 82, resident of Dierks, died Thursday, July 26, 2001 at the Howard County Memorial Hospital in Nashville.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 28 at the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in Dierks with Lowell Lites, minister, officiating. Burial followed in the Green Plains cemetery.
She was born March 19, 1919 in Dierks to the late Linton and Grace Green Quinn. She was a homemaker and a member of the Dierks Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Chandler in 1989, and her granddaughter, Casey Lynn Chandler in 1982.
Survivors include one son, David Lynn Chandler of Dierks; one brother, Van Quinn of Red Lodge, Mont.; three sisters, Wanda Jo Montalvo of Bakersfield, Calif., Neva Walker of Pine Bluff and Sue Bennett of Eugene, Ore.; one granddaughter and a number of nieces and nephews.
James R. Whiteley
James Rufus Whiteley, aged 71, resident of Grannis, died Thursday, July 26, 2001 in the Christus St. Michael Health Center in Texarkana.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 30 in the United Pentecostal Church of Grannis with Rev. Charles Herring officiating. Burial followed in the Grannis cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen.
He was born to Rufus Sheridan and Bee Jock Whiteley at Trinidad, Texas on June 18, 1930. He attended the United Pentecostal Church at Grannis and was a cattle rancher and a tractor mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Laqueita Williams Whiteley of Grannis; one brother, Troy Whiteley of Horatio; two sisters, Lorene Gunnels of Chandler, Texas and Bessie Romo of Canton, Texas and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Mabel B. Madden
Mrs. Mabel Brown Madden, resident of Quitman, Texas, and formerly of Foreman, died Friday, July 27, 2001 in Quitman.
