Cynthia Gramer
Cynthia Ferne Smith Gramer, a resident of Aledo, Texas, died Saturday, June 10, 2006.
She was born Oct. 18, 1958 in Mena to Paul K. and Verna Jean "Jill" Smith.
She was preceded in death by her father and an infant sister, Melody Joan Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Jay Gramer; one daughter, Jaylyn Gramer; one son, Jacob Gramer, all of Aledo; one step-daughter, Laura Gramer of Aledo; her mother; one brother, Greg Smith of Cove; two sisters, Lisa Rogers of Shreveport, La. and Peggy Ward of Cove; maternal grandmother, Elsie Eason of Mena; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, June 12 at First Baptist Church of Aledo, Texas with Bro. Lee Brewer officiating. A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 13 at the Octavia Baptist Church in Octavia, Okla. Burial followed in the Octavia cemetery under the direction of White's Funeral Home in Weatherford, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Hazel R. Noey
Mrs. Hazel R. Taylor Noey, age 69, a resident of Quinlan, Texas, died Monday, June 19, 2006 at her home.
She was born April 26, 1937 in Georgetown, and attended Shepard House Family Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Harold Noey; a grandson, Terry Wayne Tatum Jr.; three brothers; one sister; and her parents.
She is survived by three sons, James Grant Foster Jr. of Terrell, Texas, Donald Franklin Foster of Quinlan, Texas, and Thomas Wayne Noey of Malakoff, Texas; two daughters, Rose Tatum of Terrell, Texas and Paula Hudson of Birmingham, Ala.; a brother, Leonard Wesley Taylor of Arkansas; two sisters, Juanita Amaya of Orange County, Calif. and Nadine Brown of Selma, Calif.; and a number of brothers, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 23 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Wofford's Chapel cemetery.
The family received friends at the funeral home Thursday, June 22, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Birdie Birmingham
Birdie "Billy" Birmingham, Age 83 passed away on May 31, 2006 in Round Rock, Texas, with her family at her side.
Billy was born in Fredericksburg, Texas on December 20, 1922. She grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas; later married
Jack Birmingham who was killed in an oil rig accident, and then moved to De Queen, Arkansas. Billy had a strong faith and love for God and her family. The highlights of her week were the phone calls from her son-in-law, Ed, and the time spent with her sister, Lillie White. She had a very special bonding with all animals. Any memorials may be given in Billy's honor to any animal charity.
Billy leaves a son-in-law: Edward Hager of Florida; two granddaughters: Ruth Molenaar and Rachel Castro; five great-grandchildren; a sister: Lillie White; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and special family members, Sheila and Roy Smith, and Shawna and Krista Lindley.
Graveside services were held on Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas conducted by Austin-Peel and Son Funeral Home, 607 East Anderson, Lane Austin, Texas 78752 - 512-419-7224.
Effie L. Bateman
Mrs. Effie Lucille Bridges Bateman, age 68, a resident of Hooks, Texas, died Friday, June 16, 2006 in Texarkana, Texas.
She was born Nov. 25, 1937 in Arkinda to Alton H. and Opal Bernice Green Bridges, was a teacher, a lifetime member of the PTA and a member of New Boston Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, James Bateman of Hooks, Texas; two sons, Jim Bateman of Texarkana, Texas and Mike Bateman of Hooks, Texas; three daughters, Carla Price of Hooks, Texas, Kathy Castillo of Texarkana, Texas and Laura Bateman of Hooks, Texas; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, June 19 in the New Boston Church of Christ with Norman Hooten, minister officiating. Burial followed in the Green cemetery, near Foreman, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Johnny Dinger
Johnny Dinger, age 68, a resident of Ft. Worth, Texas, died Sunday, June 18, 2006 in North Richland Hills, Texas.
He was born Sept. 2, 1937 in De Queen to Louia John and Dovie Mae Nix Dinger, was an air-conditioner installer for Ft. Worth Independent School District, a Mason, and a member of Sabine Place Baptist Church in Ft. Worth.
He is survived by his wife, Anne Teague Dinger of Ft. Worth, Texas; two sons, Louia John Dinger III of North Richland Hills, Texas and David Stephen Lee Dinger of Richland Hills, Texas; two daughters, Elizabeth Anne Orlskay of Dunlo, Pa. and Lisa Rachelle Welch of Tyler, Texas; three sisters, Virginia Couch of Ft. Worth, Texas, Dorothy Hendrix of De Queen and Bertha Fay Gillespie of Anna, Texas; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 20 in the Sweet Home cemetery with Rev. Wesley Blankenship officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, June 19 at the funeral home.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Sabine Place Baptist Church in Ft. Worth.
Clarence W. Willbanks
Clarence William Willbanks, age 85, a resident of Texarkana, died Friday, June 16, 2006 in the Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana.
He was born Oct. 8, 1920 in Oklahoma to Clyde and Neeley McKinney Willbanks, was a retired mechanic for Red River Army Depot, a World War II Navy veteran and a Methodist.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Terri Lea on March 29, 1956.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene Price Willbanks; one daughter, Jerri Cooper of Rogers; one son, Mike Willbanks of Augusta, Ga.; one brother, H.L. Willbanks of Magnolia, Texas; and two grandsons.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Harold L. Gathright
Mr. Harold Lynn Gathright, age 66, a resident of Lockesburg, Ark., died Sunday, June 18, 2006 in Texarkana, Texas.
He was born October 11, 1939 in Nashville, Arkansas to Guy Gibson and Ida Hinsley Gathright. He was a retired maintenance oiler for Domtar and a member of the Old Union Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. Gathright is survived by his wife, Willa Mae Christian Gathright of Lockesburg; two sons and daughters-in-law, Scott Herman and April Gathright, and Toby Lynn and Gayle Gathright, all of Lockesburg; grandsons, Justin, Ben and Dereck; two granddaughters, Tasha and Shannah; one great-granddaughter, Alexis; his brother, James Alon Gathright of Lockesburg; a number of nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Gathright were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 21, 2006 in the Old Union Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Donnie Davis officiating. Burial followed in the Odd Fellows cemetery in Lockesburg, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
The Family received friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 20, at the funeral home.
