Mary Frances Gage
Mrs. Mary Frances Lazenby Gage, age 81, a resident of Horatio, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006 at her home.
She was born Sept. 26, 1924 in Yell County, Arkansas to A.J. and Lucy Ellen Lazenby; was a homemaker; and a member of Horatio First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Kelly Gage Sr.; and a granddaughter, Catherine Gage.
She is survived by two sons, Kelly Gage of Horatio and Shep Gage of Texarkana; two grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12 in Horatio First United Methodist Church with Rev. Fred Smith officiating. Burial followed in Horatio cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
George Kirkpatrick
Mr. George Franklin Kirkpatrick, age 63, a resident of Greens Chapel Community near Dierks, Arkansas, died Thursday, August 31, 2006 in Hot Springs.
He was born March 14, 1943 in Amity, Arkansas to Jim and Era Yarbrough Kirkpatrick. He worked construction, was a Methodist, and a United States Army Veteran.
Mr. Kirkpatrick was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jake Kirkpatrick; two sisters, Imogene Green and Katherine Kirkpatrick; three half-brothers, Sid Kirkpatrick, Amos Kirkpatrick, and Willis Kirkpatrick; and three half-sisters, Ollie Mae Kirkpatrick, Mattie Burleson, and Emmy Howell.
Mr. Kirkpatrick is survived by his wife, Wanda Janes Kirkpatrick; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Mark Kirkpatrick and David and Laurie Kirkpatrick, both of Greens Chapel; one daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Steven Stroud of Mayflower, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Jordan Hughes, Kinsey and Kolby Kirkpatrick, Jase and Caden Owen, Drew Stroud, and Garett Kirkpatrick; one sister and brother-in-law, Lou and Ronny Howell of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and one brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Johnna Faye Kirkpatrick of Athens, Arkansas.
Funeral services for Mr. Kirkpatrick were held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 2, 2006 in the Holly Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Dierks, Arkansas with Roger Harper and Dustin Janes officiating. Burial followed in the Greens Chapel cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
The family received friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 1, 2006 at the Dierks Chapel.
Emma E. Granes
Mrs. Emma Eleanor Strohacker Granes, age 95, a resident of De Queen and formerly of Lubbock, Texas, died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006 in Brookewood Nursing Center.
She was born Sept. 16, 1910 in Kerrville, Texas to Oscar and Dora Strohacker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Edward Granes in 1991; and a son, Anthony Granes Jr. in 2005.
She is survived by a daughter, Rosemary Griffin of Lockesburg; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services were held in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Lubbock, Texas.
Local arrangements under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.
Beverly A. McCormick
Beverly Ann McCormick, age 58, a resident of Waskom, Texas, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006.
She was born Feb. 24, 1948 to Woodrow Lawrence and Mildred Faye Houser Wilson, was a member of the Church of Christ and a nurse.
She is survived by two sons, Tommy W. Smith of Roseburg, Ore. and Michael R. Smith of Carlsbad, N.M; two daughters, Melenda Meazle of Shreveport, La. and Jennifer Bedford of Jefferson, Texas; two brothers; one sister; and 10 grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6 in the Blackwood cemetery in Dierks.
The family received friends Tuesday, Sept. 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hawthorn Funeral Home in Carthage, Texas.
Keith Presson
H. Keith Presson, 79, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006.
Keith was born Feb. 12, 1927, in Horatio, Ark. He served his country in the Pacific arena in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was active in the choir at Christ United Methodist Church and numerous committees. He retired from Fort Worth National/Texas American Bank after 27 years of service.
Keith married
Margaret Irene Hooton of Greenville in 1952. She preceded him in death in 2004, after 52 years of marriage.
Survivors: Daughters, Christie Presson Roberts and husband, Eddie, of Granbury and Nancy Presson Storr and fiancé, Steve Glenn, of Fort Worth; son, Ray Presson and wife, Debbie, of Tyler; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Clark of Waxahachie and Gail Stevenson of Euless; and a host of other friends and relatives.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Christ United Methodist Church with burial following in Greenwood Memorial Park.

Mary Sue Dunkin
Mary Sue Hardage Dunkin, age 95, a resident of De Queen, died Sunday, August 27, 2006.
She was born Oct. 29, 1910 in Arkadelphia to Jay and Linda Williams Hardage, was employed by TISD for 32 years and taught Home Economics, Chemistry, and General Science; was a member of First Baptist Church Moores Lane, Straightcutters Sunday School Class, First Baptist De Queen's Brookewood Sunday School Class; Alpha Pi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, National Retired Teachers Association and Lone Star Chapter of the DAR.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Suzanne Elizabeth Pitzer in 1989.
She is survived by her brother, John Milton Hardage of Austin, Texas; children, Linda and Scott Pitzer of Waco, Texas, James and Connie Dunkin of Dallas, Texas, and Susan and Ronnie Cook of De Queen; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30 at East Memorial Chapel in Texarkana with Larry Sims officiating. Burial followed at 3 p.m. in the Rosehill cemetery in Arkadelphia.
Memorial may be made to the First Baptist Church of De Queen.
Raymond Lee Chain
Raymond Lee Chain, age 66, a resident of Winthrop, died Monday, Sept. 4, 2006 at his home.
He was born Dec. 12, 1939 to Floyd Clinton and Ruby Lee Fennell Chain, was a truck driver and an Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Dale, Gary, and June.
He is survived by two sons, Greg Chain and Kyle Chain, both of Schertz, Texas; two brothers, Wayne Chain of Castroville, Texas and Robert Chain of Oklahoma; and two grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services were held in the Chain Family cemetery in Jourdanton, Texas.
