Roberta Trammell
Roberta Trammell, Little Rock, went peacefully to her next life May 9, 2006. She most loved her children, grandchildren, bridge, and Oaklawn. She will be missed most by those who appreciated her smile and willingness always to have fun. Her grandchildren loved her ways, but never understood why they had to always eat "more", or why they had to leave a good fishing pond on a sunny afternoon just because a stranger said a storm could be brewing. As a young mother she had thrown her three children under a bed as a tornado lifted the second story off her two-story home. For the next 54 years she 'helped' others also fear impending strong winds. She most loved her husband Bob's daily gesture of endearment, a foot massage with the evening news.
She was born October 29, 1918, and is the last surviving child of six. "Berta" is preceded in death by her loving husband, Bob W. Trammell, and her oldest child, Thomas. She is survived by her children Mrs. Sally Burnett, Robert D. Trammell, Esq., as well as another "son" Dr. Hugh Burnett Jr., Amelia, Georgie, Jennifer, Ashley, Janie and Renee Trammell, Dr. "Lin" Burnett, and Tom Burnett all knew her as mother, grandmother, or 'GaGa.' She had many loving friends from her years raising a family in De Queen.
The people of Good Shepherd on Aldersgate, and "Doctor 'A'" are thanked for their five years of kind, consistent care. There was no formal visitation. The family and friends gathered privately to celebrate Roberta and all that is good in their lives.
Graveside memorial services were held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 13, 2006 at the Redmen cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
