Grover Henry Oglesby
Grover Henry Oglesby, age 85, a resident of Haworth, Okla. died Tuesday, January 24, 2006 in the McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, Okla.
He was born February 3, 1920 in Arkinda, to Clarence and Vera Baker Oglesby.
He is survived by his wife, Essie Sexton Oglesby of Haworth; one son, Bill Oglesby also of Haworth; three brothers, Howard Oglesby of Crossroads, Bruce Oglesby of Foreman and Dale Oglesby of Crossroads; two sisters, Velma Green of Wichita, Kan. and Verna Seller of Texas; two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 27, in the Piney cemetery with James McRae, minister officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Mildred L. Cunningham
Mildred Leontine Dabon Cunningham, age 94, a resident of De Queen, died Saturday, January 7, 2006 in the Sevier Healthcare Nursing Center.
She was born on February 26, 1911 in New Orleans, La., to Charles and Mary Jones Dabon. She was a homemaker and a Catholic.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Audrey Marshall in 1998.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Cunningham were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, in the Redmen cemetery with Rev. Scott Ray officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Billy Ray Morris
Billy Ray Morris, age 63, resident of Dierks, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005 in Howard Memorial Hospital in Nashville.
He was born March 5, 1942 in Dierks to Raymond and Lorene Johnson Morris; was a retired security supervisor for Weyerhaeuser; and a member of First Baptist Church of Dierks.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Yancey Morris; one daughter, Denise Barton of Dierks; one son, Tony Morris of Dallas, Tex.; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2006 in Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel at Dierks with Rev. Craig Chambers officiating. Burial followed in Dierks cemetery.
Doyle Morris Elliott
Doyle Morris Elliott, age 70, resident of De Queen, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006 in the De Queen Medical Center.
He was born April 28, 1935 at Aline, Okla., to Alvin Ernest and Elida Jane Morris Elliott; was a retired employee of Weyerhaeuser Company and a Mason.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Wilson Willis Elliott of De Queen; one son and daughter-in-law, Doyle Ray and Rachelle Elliott of Broken Bow, Okla., two step-sons, Rickie Willis of De Queen, and Randy Willis of Horatio, Ark.; two step-daughters, Maggie Loper of Colleyville, Tex. and Annette Battiest of De Queen; four brothers, Jimmy Elliott of Ore., Charlie Elliott of Houston, Tex., Dick Dillard, and Ted Dillard both of Alleene, Okla.; three sisters, Sue Harzman, and Kay Thurman both of Grove, Okla. and Peggy Cook of Enid, Okla.; two grandchildren; 13 step grandchildren; eight step-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 7 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in the Clear Creek cemetery, Horatio.
The family received friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, Jan. 6.
Lloyd J. Dunn
Lloyd J. “Heavy” Dunn, age 90, resident of De Queen, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2006 in the De Queen Medical Center.
He was born May 16, 1915 in Loco, Okla. to Edgar and Nancy McEntire Dunn. He was a retired oil field driller, and also retired from Mountaire Poultry, where he worked maintenance. He was a 32 degree Mason and a member of the Sweet Home Masonic Lodge, and a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Homer, Henry, Floyd, and Vernon Dunn; three sisters, Dovie Spurgin, Gladys Southerland, and Ester Spurgin; a son Alan Dunn in 1968; and his wife, Olive Dunn in 2003.
He is survived by a son, Jimmie Dunn of De Queen; one brother, Chester Dunn of Billings, Mont.; two sisters, Cleo Alexander of Duncan, Okla. and Laverne Cloughly of Sequin, Texas; two granddaughters and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 30 in the Chapel Hill cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.
W. Cary Lewis Sr.
W. Cary Lewis Sr., 69, of Dauphin Island, Alabama, died Tuesday, January 17, 2006. He was born January 26, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois. Cary was a long term employee with Weyerhaeuser Company and retired in 2004.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
He is survived by his wife, Frankie Jean Lewis; three daughters and three sons-in-law, Lorena and Mike Branson of Hot Springs, Ark., Kelly and Tommy Williams of De Queen, Ark., and Carrie Lynn and Tim McGaha of Horatio, Ark.; one son and daughter-in-law, W. Cary and Mary Lewis of Little Rock, Ark.; one stepson and daughter-in-law, William "Bill" Alan and Sarah Frazier of Memphis, Tenn.; one stepdaughter and son-in-law, Diana Lynne and Paul Adcox of Mandeville, La.; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one niece.
At his request, there was no memorial service. His children held a private remembrance in Hot Springs.

Ethel Lee Lipscomb
Ethel Lee Lipscomb, age 88, a resident of Flippin, Ark., formerly of De Queen, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2006 in the Twin Lakes Nursing Center in Flippin.
She was born March 29, 1917 in Arkinda, Ark. to William and Nada (Arnold) Brown. She was a retired legal secretary for Abe Collins in De Queen for many years. She was a member of the Flippin First Baptist Church and longtime member of the De Queen First Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Draughn's Business College in Little Rock. Mrs. Lipscomb had made Flippin her home since 1999, having moved there from De Queen. Ethel married
J. W. Lipscomb on September 2, 1945; he preceded her in death on July 4, 2002.
Mrs. Lipscomb was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Bob Stansfield and Judy and Steve Martin, all of Flippin; two grandchildren, Chris Martin of Dallas, Texas and Kelly Stamps and her husband, Scott, of Bentonville, Ark.; and one niece, Janice Thomas of Texarkana, Ark.
Visitation was held at the Flippin First Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 17 from 6-7 p.m. with services beginning at 7 p.m. with Bro. Steve Martin officiating.
Graveside funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, January 19, 2006 in the Redmen cemetery.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, January 18 at the Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
