Eva Lois Coble McNully
Eva Lois Coble McNully, age 69, a resident of De Queen, Ark. died Sunday, January 15, 2006 in the De Queen Medical Center.
Mrs. McNully was born September 12, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan to William and D'Ortha Caldwell Coble. She was a homemaker, a licensed cosmetologist, and a member of the Extension Homemakers Service. She enjoyed all types of needlework including sewing, quilting, crocheting and knitting. In her younger days she was very active in the music ministry playing the piano and accordion, and singing. All her life she has been affiliated with the Assemblies of God.
She is survived by her husband, James L. McNully of De Queen; four children: Joseph Bradley McNully of Shawnee Okla., Dwana L. McNully of Wright City, Okla., Carmen T. Nelson and husband, Rev. Darrell G. Nelson, of Ennis, Texas, and C. Kevin McNully and fiance, Katelyn, and her daughter, Emily, of De Queen; one brother, William D. Coble Jr. of Shawnee, Okla.; an aunt, Jewell Tinker of McAlister, Okla.; one granddaughter, Tamara C. Nelson Moore and husband, Toby, of Ballinger, Texas; and several cousins.
Funeral services for Mrs. McNully were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 18, 2006 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell G. Nelson, Rev. David Brooks, and Rev. Ray Reynolds officiating. Burial followed in the Horatio cemetery.
The family was at the home of Shirley McNully on Redbone Lane in Horatio, 832-4873.
The family received friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at the funeral home.
Mildred Shinn Walker
Mrs. Mildred Shinn Walker, age 89, a resident of Ben Lomond, died Saturday, January 7, 2006 in Texarkana, Texas.
She was born February, 22, 1916 in Lockesburg, Arkansas to John Berry and Cora Ann Hargrove Shinn. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ben Lomond Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband, Halton S. Walker on August 16, 1983.
She is survived by four nephews: Herbert Cox Jr. and John Edward Cox of Oregon, Wayne Purtell of Tacoma, Washington, and Jerry Shinn of Hatfield, Arkansas; three nieces: Carmen Nesbitt of Hugo, Oklahoma, Virginia Dowdle of Lockesburg, Arkansas, and Sally McInvale of Texarkana, Texas.
Funeral services for Mrs. Walker were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2006 in the Ben Lomond Presbyterian Church with Rev. Donald Bowman officiating. Burial followed in the Ben Lomond cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Ben Lomond Presbyterian Church.
Willie Madge Ragan Davis
Mrs. Willie Madge Ragan Davis, age 90, resident of Horatio, died Wednesday, January 18, 2006 in the De Queen Medical Center.
She was born September 15, 1915 in Leesville, La. to Rev. John W. and Maudie R. Powell Ragan.
She married
William Levi (Bill) Davis on Feb. 15, 1936, and they settled in the West Otis Community. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Horatio, a retired Avon Representative, was in the Avon President’s Club for many years, as well as a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Burley and Luther Ragan; two sisters, Eunice Ragan and Annie Mae Pettigrew; and husband of 58 years, Bill.
She is survived by two daughters; Virgie Maudie Lee Shelton and Betty Anita Chapman; two sons, Billy Darrell (Cy) Davis and J.W. Ragan all of Eagletown; two sisters, Ruby Winchell of DeKalb, Texas and Johnie Bernice Whitington of Simms, Texas, eleven grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and 27 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 21, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Cy Davis, minister officiating. Burial followed in the West Otis cemetery.
Claryce Arlene Harrison Hankins
Mrs. Claryce Arlene Harrison Hankins, age 74, a resident of De Queen, Ark. died Friday, June 24, 2005.
She was born Monday, May 18, 1931 to Clare and Mildred Peterson Harrison. She was a legal secretary for Exxon Oil and a member of the First Baptist Church of De Queen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three stepchildren, Gary Hankins, Lisa Olade and Rhonda Sue Hankins.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Hankins of De Queen, Ark.; two stepsons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Cathy Hankins and Terry and Laura Hankins, all of De Queen, Ark.; one sister and brother-in-law, Liz and Benny Tollett of Lockesburg, AR: nine step-grandchildren and three great-step-grandchildren.
Graveside services for Mrs. Hankins were held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2005 in the Oddfellows Section of Lockesburg cemetery with Ron Paul and Rev. Dale Hankins officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Dale Edward Cox
Dale Edward Cox, age 65, resident of Gillham, died Monday, June 20, 2005 in Sevier Health Care, De Queen.
He was born March 6, 1940 at Lockesburg to Ellis Kerry and Elsie Irene Kerr Cox; was a former commercial fisherman; and served in the military with the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by two daughters, Jackie and Tammy; one sister, Mary Hockersmith of Gillham; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 21 in Valley cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Cheselene W. Fuller
Cheselene W. Fuller, age 75, resident of De Queen, died Sunday, July 24, 2005 in Brookewood Nursing Center.
She was born Oct. 24, 1929 in Harris, Okla., to Lee and Velora Bell Wilson; was a housewife; and a member of First Pentecostal Church of God in De Queen. She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents, Thomas and Myrtie Wilson; and one brother, Derril Wilson.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Fuller of Sacramento, Calif., and Cleta Hodge of Poteau, Okla.; one sister, Delpha Johnson of Idabel, Okla.; two brothers, Delmer Wilson of Moore, Okla., and Bobby Wilson of Harris, Okla.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 26 in Redmen cemetery with Glen Launius officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
The family received friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 25 at the funeral home.
Francis Juanita Dean
Francis Juanita Dickinson “Dickie” Dean, age 88, resident of Siloam Springs, died Sunday, June 26, 2005 at her home.
She was born Sept. 15, 1916 in Horatio to Dr. Richard C and Belle Gray Dickinson; was a member of the PEO Chapter T in Siloam Springs; a former member of the Hospital Foundation Board; and a member of First United Methodist Church in Siloam.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Boyd Dean, and three brothers, Dr. Bill Dickinson, Dr. Roger Dickinson and Dr. Gordon Dickinson.
She is survived by one son, Dr. David B. Dean of Siloam Springs; one daughter, Diane Dean Simmons of Siloam Springs; two sisters, Flora Ann Dickinson of Horatio and Bettye Horne of Gurdon; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services were held at Oak Hill cemetery in Siloam Springs with Father Russ Snapp officiating.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Horatio.
