Kenneth F. White
Kenneth F. White, age 64, resident of Horatio, died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005 in Little River Memorial Hospital at Ashdown.
He was born Nov. 12, 1940 to Charles and Russie Lee White; was owner of S&K; Furniture of De Queen and Car Wash in Ashdown; and was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Shirley Ann White in 2002.
He is survived by a daughter, Jana Kay Jones of Winthrop; and two grandsons.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17 in Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Audie Dawson officiating. Burial followed in Redmen cemetery.
Garreth Benjamin Stricklin
Garreth Benjamin Stricklin, age 15, resident of Hatfield, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2005 in the Arkansas Children's Hospital.
He was born to Garry Dale and Donna Fay Craig Stricklin in Mena, Arkansas on April 9, 1990. He was a student at Van-Cove High School and attended the De Queen Pentecostal Church of God. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing drums, sports, singing, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his parents, Garry Stricklin of Hatfield, Ark. and Tommy & Donna Huddleston of Hatfield, Ark.; two sisters, Terah Smart and husband Aaron of Mena, Ark. and Misty Bradley and husband Heath of Mena, Ark.; one brother, Timothy Rose II and wife Casi of Hatfield, Ark.; one stepsister, Shonda Huddleston of Broken Bow, Okla., one stepbrother, Tommy "Bo" Huddleston and wife Misty of Cleveland, Ark.; his grandparents, Wanda McDaniel and the late Bill McDaniel of Hatfield, Ark., the late Daren B. Stricklin, Deanna Fair and the late Floyd F. Fair of De Queen, Ark., James and Sherry Craig of Hatfield, Ark., and Eugene and Imogene Huddleston of De Queen, Ark.; and five nieces, three nephews, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 4 in the Union Mission Pentecostal Church of God with Rev. J. C. Seward and Rev. Eddie Schlinker officiating. Interment was in the Witherspoon cemetery under the direction of Hall Funeral Service.
Pallbearers were Larry and Beau Stricklin, David Willis, Justin and Jeremy Craig, Anthony Cole, Brett and Jonathon Torres. Honorary pallbearer was Gerry Rose.

Ruth Juanez Young
Mrs. Ruth Juanez Wood Young, age 83, resident of Ben Lomond, died Saturday, May 14, 2005 at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Ashdown.
She was born Jan. 24, 1922 in Amity to Ira and Rebecca Deering Wood; and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Young.
She is survived by a brother, Jackie Wood of Paris; two sisters, Glenva Dellinger of Lincoln, Ill., and Imogene Mize of Ben Lomond; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 16 in New Prospect Baptist Church with Rev. Lynn McClure officiating. Burial followed in Wright’s Chapel cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Oscar Felipe Sanchez
Oscar Felipe Sanchez, age 26, resident of De Queen, died Sunday, May 15, 2005 near Eagletown, Okla.
He was born March 28, 1979 in San Miguel, Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico to Carlos Sanchez and Raquel Labrada Sanchez; and was a line worker for Pilgrim’s Pride.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Viviana Sanchez; one daughter, Flor Edith Sanchez; his parents, Carlos and Raquel Sanchez; and his brothers and sisters, Martha Sanchez, Juan Carlos Sanchez, Rafael Sanchez, Ricardo Sanchez, Marisol Sanchez, Hugo A. Sanchez, Janet Sanchez, Edgar E. Sanchez, Laura Sanchez, Gustavo A. Sanchez and Jennifer A. Sanchez.
Funeral services were held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, May 18 in St. Barbara Catholic Church with Father John Kerr officiating. Burial followed in Redmen cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Willie Lou Johnson
Mrs. Willie Lou Bishop Johnson, age 99, resident of Lockesburg, died Thursday, May 19, 2005 in Little River Memorial Hospital at Ashdown.
She was born Dec. 24, 1905 in Pushmataha County, Okla., to Robert Thomas and Emily Peairlee Andes Bishop; was a homemaker; and a member of the Non-Denomination Church.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Jerome Johnson and Roy Johnson; two daughters, Beulah Cady and Eula Moore; and her husband, Ebbin White Johnson Sr.
She is survived by two sons, Frankie D. Johnson and Larry D. Johnson, both of Provo; four daughters, Peairlee Hall of Bells, Tex., Martha Bone of Ashdown, Reba Young of Nashville, and Wilma Harget of Mojave, Calif.; one half-sister, Carrie Cady of Clute, Tex.; 27 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 23 in Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Clayton Crow officiating. Burial followed in McHorse cemetery at Provo.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 22 at the funeral home.
A.C. Knighten
A.C. Knighten, age 74, resident of Foreman, died Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at his home.
He was born May 15, 1931 in Foreman; and was a former timber worker.
He is survived by his wife, Flora Gale Knighten of Foreman; five sons, Steve Davis of Douglas, Wyo., Charles R. Knighten, Johnny Knighten, George Knighten and Vernon Knighten, all of Foreman; one daughter, Viola Moore of Tom, Okla.; five brothers, Robert Knighten, Little Bill Knighten, Eddie Knighten, Simon Knighten and Charles David Knighten, all of Foreman; four sisters, Ethel of Oklahoma, Rosey of Texas, Joy Lockaby of Foreman, and Rachael of Boonesville; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 20 in First Baptist Church of Foreman with Rev. Jimmy Woods officiating. Burial followed in Gravelly cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home, De Queen.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 19 at the funeral home.
Imogene Reed
Imogene Wynn Reed, age 81, a resident of Dierks, departed this life Saturday, May 14, 2005 at her home in Dierks.
She was born December 2, 1923 in Dierks, Arkansas to K. L. and Mattie Westbrook Wynn. She was a member of the Holly Creek Missionary Baptist Church and a retired employee of Weyerhaeuser Company.
Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Vestal, her parents, and one sister, Doris.
She is survived by two sons, Gary L. Reed, and wife, Karen, of Wichita, Kansas, and Glenn D. Reed, and wife, Mary, of Dierks; four grandchildren, David Reed, and wife, Chasity, of Carlisle, Arkansas, Tammy Carter, and husband, Mike, of Smithville, Oklahoma, Jill Pretzel, and husband, Kay, of Wichita, Kansas, and Robin Reed of Dallas, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Meghan Reed, Alyssa and Kaylie Wynn Carter; one sister, Mildred Castell and husband, Harvey, of Marshall, Texas; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2005 in the Holly Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Allbritton officiating. Burial followed in the Dierks cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Homes in Dierks.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, May 16, at the funeral home in Dierks.
