James W. Stinnett
James W. Stinnett, age 71, resident of Spanaway, Wash., died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005 in a car accident.
He was born June 21, 1933 in De Queen to the late Claude and Ruby Stinnett.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; two daughters, Linda and Diana; three sons, Jack, Mike and Danny; a sister, Juanita Millwee of De Queen; a brother, Hershel Stinnett of De Queen; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6 in Fir Lane Memorial Chapel.
Frank Stuart McKeller
Frank Stuart McKeller, age 79, resident of Lockesburg, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2005 at his home.
He was born March 12, 1925 at Paraclifta to Robert Lee and Lillian L. Deal McKeller; was a member of Falls Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder; a U.S. Army veteran of World War II; retired from the Arkansas Highway Police; and a farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Millie Crow McKellar of Lockesburg; one son, Robert Frank McKellar of Lockesburg; one daughter, Rev. Millie Ann Holley of Lockesburg; one sister, Lois Gore of Lockesburg; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 20 in Falls Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jerry McKellar officiating. Burial with military honors followed in Falls Chapel cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19 at the funeral home.
Erwin L. Wright
Erwin L. Wright, age 81, resident of De Queen, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2005 in Texarkana.
He was born Sept. 20, 1923 in Gillham to John Ellis and Lola Day Powell Wright; was a master electrician establishing Wright Electric Co. in 1948 and also worked for Williams Brothers and Brown and Root; a U.S. Marine Corp. veteran of World War II having served in the South Pacific; and a member of Gillham First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, George Arvil Wright, Calvin C. Wright, Ellis E. Wright and Hillary J. Wright.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Bigham Wright; two sons, Al Wright and Randell Wright, both of De Queen; one daughter, Leslie Ray of Pine Bluff; one brother, Custer T. Wright of Crescent City, Calif.; four sisters, Joy White of Citrus Heights, Calif., Viola Morgan of Buffalo, Tex., Faye Tidwell of Simms, Tex., and Christine Wright of New Boston, Tex.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21 in Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Ron Paul and Lyndon Fenton officiating. Burial will follow in Redmen cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20 at the funeral home.

Ruth Taylor Bishop
Ruth Taylor Bishop, age 91, resident of Horatio, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005 in De Queen Medical Center.
She was born March 15, 1913 in Sunflower County, MS to Ira and Cornelia Taylor; was a homemaker; and a member of First Baptist Church of Horatio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon O. Bishop on Aug. 5, 2002; two brothers, Jack Taylor and Basil Taylor; and a granddaughter, Betty Coleman Byers.
She is survived by four children, Ruth E. Pogue of Horatio, Lorene Coleman of Magnolia, Tex., Billy J. Bishop and Vernon Bishop, both of Horatio; one sister, Elizabeth McNichols of Houston, Tex.; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6 in Millwee cemetery with Rev. Coy Arnold officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5 at the funeral home.
Edna Celest Lewis
Mrs. Edna Celest Smith Lewis, age 63, resident of Foreman, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005 in Ben Lomond from injuries received in an automobile accident.
She was born Dec. 22, 1041 at Foreman to Jim and Odessa Smith; and was retired from the Senior Citizens Center of Foreman. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Levi and P.W. Smith; and one sister, Mary Queen.
She is survived by one son, Mark Lewis of Foreman; one daughter, Mary Cursh of New Boston, Tex.; four brothers, Cleveland Smith of Foreman, Charles Smith of Oklahoma City, Okla., Jesse Smith of Tucson, Ariz., and Archie Laster of Forrest City; four sisters, Flora Nelson and Linda Baker, both of Foreman, Alberta Smith of Fresno, Calif., and Mary White of Sacramento, Calif.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19 in Freedom Temple Church of God In Christ. Burial followed in Alfred French cemetery, Foreman, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Theresa Friend
Mrs. Theresa Renee Rushing Friend, age 45, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004 in Little Rock.
She was born Sept. 4, 1959 in Grand Prairie, Tex. to the late Thomas Edward Rushing and Laverne Lou Wilcher Rushing. She was a member of the United States Army National Guard and was of the Christian faith. She was a loving mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Edward Rushing and by one brother, Uland Rushing.
She is survived by one son, John Bagley of Gillham; one daughter, Bethany Lacy of Nashville; her mother, Laverne Waller of Grannis; one brother, Arland Rushing of Alma; and two sisters, Fonda Everhart of Euless, Tex., and Karen Wall of Ft. Smith; four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 2005 at the Wickes Pentecostal Church of God in Wickes with Rev. Chris Burke and Rev. Mike Wilson officiating. Interment followed at the Arkansas Veteran’s cemetery in North Little Rock under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
John Thomas "J.T." Hill
John Thomas "J. T." Hill, age 88, a resident of Lockesburg, Ark., died Saturday, January 8, 2005, in Nashville, Ark.
He was born April 21, 1916, in Provo, Ark., to Lawrence and Lydia Sherman Hill. Brother Hill was a retired minister having pastored a number of churches in the area, including Damascus Baptist Church where he pastored for thirty years.
He is survived by his wife, Iris; one son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Peggy Hill of Tulsa, Okla.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Fonda and William Hendricks of De Queen, Ark., Lynda and David Rauls of Nashville, Ark., and Paula and Pat Evans of Texarkana, Ark.; one sister, M. A. Carrington of De Queen, Ark.; one sister-in-law, Doris Hill of Tulsa, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Paul Hill, Kelly Connor, Scott Shores, Leslie Bates, Christopher Rauls, Stephen Rauls, Aaron Evans, and Holly Evans; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2005, in the Pleasant Hill (McHorse) Missionary Baptist Church in Provo, Ark. with Pastor Larry Fry and Rev. John W. Gilbert officiating. Burial followed in the McHorse cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.
The family received friends on Monday, January 10, 2005, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen, Ark.
Edward Klitz Jr.
Edward Lowell Klitz Jr., age 48, resident of Broken Bow, Okla., died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005 from accidental drowning 2 miles north of Broken Bow on Yanubbe Creek.
He was born Oct. 18, 1956 at De Queen to Edward and Margaret Rich Klitz Sr.; and was a brick mason. He was preceded in death by his father; and his grandparents, Bob and Vertie Rich, Edna Jacobs, and Martin Klitz.
He is survived by three sons, Chad Everett Klitz, David Russell and Jason Russell, all of De Queen; his mother, Margaret Klitz of Winthrop; two brothers, Denis Klitz and Kim Klitz, both of Winthrop; three nephews, one niece and one great-nephew.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7 in Pauley cemetery at Winthrop with Leon Klitz, minister officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen.
