Oscar Felipe Sanchez
Oscar Felipe Sanchez, age 26, resident of De Queen, died Sunday, May 15, 2005 near Eagletown, Okla.
He was born March 28, 1979 in San Miguel, Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico to Carlos Sanchez and Raquel Labrada Sanchez; and was a line worker for Pilgrim’s Pride.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Viviana Sanchez; one daughter, Flor Edith Sanchez; his parents, Carlos and Raquel Sanchez; and his brothers and sisters, Martha Sanchez, Juan Carlos Sanchez, Rafael Sanchez, Ricardo Sanchez, Marisol Sanchez, Hugo A. Sanchez, Janet Sanchez, Edgar E. Sanchez, Laura Sanchez, Gustavo A. Sanchez and Jennifer A. Sanchez.
Funeral services were held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, May 18 in St. Barbara Catholic Church with Father John Kerr officiating. Burial followed in Redmen cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Willie Lou Johnson
Mrs. Willie Lou Bishop Johnson, age 99, resident of Lockesburg, died Thursday, May 19, 2005 in Little River Memorial Hospital at Ashdown.
She was born Dec. 24, 1905 in Pushmataha County, Okla., to Robert Thomas and Emily Peairlee Andes Bishop; was a homemaker; and a member of the Non-Denomination Church.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Jerome Johnson and Roy Johnson; two daughters, Beulah Cady and Eula Moore; and her husband, Ebbin White Johnson Sr.
She is survived by two sons, Frankie D. Johnson and Larry D. Johnson, both of Provo; four daughters, Peairlee Hall of Bells, Tex., Martha Bone of Ashdown, Reba Young of Nashville, and Wilma Harget of Mojave, Calif.; one half-sister, Carrie Cady of Clute, Tex.; 27 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 23 in Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Clayton Crow officiating. Burial followed in McHorse cemetery at Provo.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 22 at the funeral home.
Sally Ann Hoyt
Sally Ann McFarland Hoyt, age 72, died Monday, May 16, 2005.
She was born March 2, 1933 in Arkadelphia to the late Louis Richard and Jane Dean Carpenter McFarland; was a retired schoolteacher in the Hot Springs School District where she taught for 24 years; holds a Masters in Education from Henderson State University; attended Washington University in St. Louis; was a member of Pi Beta Phi society; an active dancer with her dance group winning many national competitions; and a volunteer for Andrea’s Foundation for the Arts in Hot Springs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Dr. Louis Richard McFarland Jr.
She is survived by three sons, Jonathan Hoyt of De Queen, Jim Hoyt of Little Rock and Louis Hoyt of Nashville, Tenn.; and seven grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 20 in Rose Hill cemetery with Rev. David Wilson officiating, under the direction of Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Hot Springs or the American Cancer Society.
Adley Imogene Key
Mrs. Adley Imogene "Jean" Smith Key, age 83, a resident of Foreman, died Sunday, May 22, 2005, in the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Ashdown.
She was born March 28, 1922 in Madill, Okla. to Joel Hinton and Dora Mae Moss Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
Mrs. Key was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Scott Key, October 28, 1987; her parents, five brothers, and one sister.
She is survived by one son, Curtis Lynn Key of Arkadelphia, Ark.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Valarie and Robert Jackson of Colleyville, Texas, Scotteen Estes of Kilgore, Texas and Nova and Laney Lawrence of Lebanon, Tenn.; one brother, George Smith of Iowa Park, Texas; six sisters, Louise Downs of Crowell, Texas, Kitty Pitson of Lebanon, Okla., Marge Farris of Marlow, Okla., Floye Stewart of Lebanon, Okla., Rebecca Dunston of Dallas, Texas, and Delnia Crum of Canton, Texas; three grandchildren, Scott and Heather Lawrence and Bonnie Estes; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Key were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2005 in the King Ryder Church of Christ with Leon Klitz, minister, officiating. Burial followed in the Pauley cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
The family received friends from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, at the funeral home.
Anna Applegate
Mrs. Anna Jane Applegate, age 88, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at her home.
She was born July 7, 1916 in Ganado, Texas to Jerry and Maria Fouskova Husak. She was a retired salesperson and a Baptist.
Mrs. Applegate was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Applegate; five brothers, Jerry Husak, Jr., James Husak, Frank Husak, Joe Husak, and Anton Husak; and one sister, Mary Husak Mask.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Iris and Gale Saylor of De Queen; two granddaughters, April Talkington of De Queen, and Paige Burcham and husband, Jimmy, of Eagletown, Oklahoma; three great-grandchildren, April, Connie and Michael McGehee of De Queen; two brothers, Charlie Husak of Port Lavaca, Texas and George Husak of Corpus Christi, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Applegate were held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, May 20, 2005 in the Mt. Ida cemetery with Rev. Tim Bowlin officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

A.C. Knighten, age 74, resident of Foreman, died Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at his home.
He was born May 15, 1931 in Foreman; and was a former timber worker.
He is survived by his wife, Flora Gale Knighten of Foreman; five sons, Steve Davis of Douglas, Wyo., Charles R. Knighten, Johnny Knighten, George Knighten and Vernon Knighten, all of Foreman; one daughter, Viola Moore of Tom, Okla.; five brothers, Robert Knighten, Little Bill Knighten, Eddie Knighten, Simon Knighten and Charles David Knighten, all of Foreman; four sisters, Ethel of Oklahoma, Rosey of Texas, Joy Lockaby of Foreman, and Rachael of Boonesville; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 20 in First Baptist Church of Foreman with Rev. Jimmy Woods officiating. Burial followed in Gravelly cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home, De Queen.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 19 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Lisa Olalde
Mrs. Lisa Ann Hankins Olalde, age 43, a resident of De Queen, Ark., died Saturday, May 28, 2005 in De Queen.
She was born to Donald and Sonia Green Hankins at Henderson, Nevada, on October 22, 1961. She was a member of the Rose Hill Baptist Church, and was a CNA at Brookewood Nursing Center. She enjoyed reading and camping.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Hankins, and a sister, Rhonda Sue Hankins.
She is survived by her husband, Carmen Olalde of De Queen; five sons and daughters-in-law, Carmen Joel and Tonya Olalde, Rodney Wayne and Jean Olalde, Juan Angel Olalde, Jose Antonio Olalde, and Valente Miguel Olalde, all of De Queen; one daughter, Angelica Marie Olalde of De Queen; the joy of her live, her grandson, Jacob Olalde of De Queen; her mother, Sonia Green Hankins of De Queen; her father and stepmother, Donald and Clarice Hankins of De Queen; three brothers, Terry Hankins, Tony Hankins, and Glen Hankins, all of De Queen; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lisa Olalde were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2005 in the Rose Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Bowlin and Father John Kerr officiating. Burial followed in the Valley cemetery, Gillham, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
