Andrew Eric Wray
Andrew Eric Wray, age 30, resident of Chandler, Tex., and formerly of Horatio, died Friday, Nov. 11, 2005 in Birmingham, Ala.
He was born Oct. 30, 1975 at Searcy; served in the military with the U.S. Marines; was an auto body repairman; and a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by a brother, Matthew Lee Tallant; his paternal grandparents, Robert and Janette Wray; and his maternal great-grandfather, Harmon Lee Kennedy.
He is survived by a daughter, Madison Alyssa Wray; a son, Matthew Lee Wray; his mother and stepfather, Brenda and David Cranford; his father, Jack Wray of De Queen; three stepsisters, Priscilla Baker of Lockesburg, Shera Kesterson of Dierks and Crystal Morris of New Hope; his grandparents, Wanda Scroggins of Dierks and Julius T. Garner of Longview, Tex.; great-grandmother, Lois Kennedy Axton of Dierks.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14 in Old Center Church with Bro. Sam Hendricks officiating. Burial followed in Old Center cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Mrs. Blanche Lee Craig
Mrs. Blanche Lee Craig, age 77, a resident of De Queen, died Thursday, November 24, 2005 in the De Queen Medical Center.
She was born June 25, 1928 in Bismark, Arkansas to Lee and Delee Hardage Bray. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in De Queen.
Mrs. Craig was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Craig.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Kerri and Patrick Stidham; one stepdaughter and son-in-law, Patti and Steve Sharp; her grandchildren, Zack and Jordan Hightower, Weston Stidham, and Craig Sharp; one sister, Ovella Lookadoo, and her husband, Waldo; her nephew, Freddy Lookadoo; and two special friends, Walter Hightower and Lois Mitchell.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Craig were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 26, 2005 in the Redmen cemetery with Ron Paul officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kim Vann
Mrs. Kim Vann, age 42, a resident of De Queen, Ark., died Saturday October 22, 2005 in Eagletown, Okla.
She was born on January 26, 1963 in Arcata, Calif. to Lloyd and Ernestine Westbrook Young. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Gillham.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Young.
She is survived by two sons, Jesse D. Vann and wife Crystal and Joshua Lloyd Vann, all of De Queen; her ex-husband, Rodney Vann of Ashdown, Ark.; her fiancé, Bobby Joe Pressley of Eagletown, Okla.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Karen S. and Gary Whisenhunt, Kathy A. and Roger Driver, and Angela T. and James Meeker, all of Gillham, Ark.; her mother and step-father, Ernestine Young Smith and A.F. Smith of Gillham; four step-sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie McKinney of De Queen, Donna and David Morris of Gillham, Dana and Robert Gentry of De Queen, and Dianna and Blane Meisch of Chanute, Kan.; one uncle, James E. Westbrook; and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2005 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob McManus and Rev. Homer Frachiseur officiating. Cremation followed.
Jesse James McClure
Jesse James McClure, age 80, resident of Wilton, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2005 in the Little River Memorial Hospital in Ashdown.
He was born February 23, 1925 in Handley, Texas to Dock Allan and Myrtle Jane Lewis McClure. He was retired from the U.S. Army with 23 years of service, and was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ollie Mae Runnels McClure on February 18, 2004; and a grandson, Dewey Adam Tosh.
He is survived by one son, Allen Tosh of Hot Springs, AR; four daughters, Carol Treece of Wilton, Brenda Ward of Murfreesboro, Sherril Seaton of Hot Springs, and Kathy Stubbs of Ardmore, OK; four brothers, Bill McClure of Utah, Bub McClure of Oregon, Frank McClure of Arizona, and Clayton Friend of Dierks; two sisters, Inez Hurst of Texas and Virginia Friend of Dierks; fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. McClure were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2005 in the McHorse cemetery with Rev. Tim Carpenter officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home, De Queen.
Mrs. Retha Mae Turner Shepherd
Mrs. Retha Mae Turner Shepherd, age 64, resident of Little Rock, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005 in a Little Rock Hospital.
She was born March 16, 1941 at Dierks to John and Dessie Manasco Turner; was a homemaker; and a Baptist.
She is survived by two sons, Bobby Shepherd of Hannibal, Mo., and Robin Shepherd of Haughton, La.; one daughters, Tammy Green of Little Rock; one brother, Joe Turner of Mena; two sisters, Sue Chambers of Wenatchee, Wash., and Jean Jordan of Starbuck, Wash.; three grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8 in Bethel cemetery with Bro. Bill Weeks officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Jewel Mae Frachiseur
Mrs. Jewel Mae Frachiseur, age 84, a resident of Grannis, Arkansas, died Sunday, October 23, 2005 in the Christus St. Michael Health System.
She was born November 21, 1920 in Polk Co., Arkansas to Bert and Ann Dugger Wagner. She was a homemaker and a member of the Holly Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Her favorite hobbies included gardening and sharing the flowers she grew with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Luther Frachiseur on September 26, 1981.
Mrs. Frachiseur is survived by two daughters, Vicky Wright of De Queen and Shirley Barfield of Gillham; two sons, Howard Frachiseur of Gillham, and Arthur Frachiseur of Grannis, 14 grandchildren, Jeff, Alan, and Ricky Frachiseur, Brenda Brewer, Marty Frachiseur, Tammy Hinson, Travis Kesterson, Greg Wright, Jay Wright, Alisha Lewis, Bill Barfield, Mike Barfield, Patty Burcham, and Manya Wood; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Frachiseur were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 26, 2005 in the Holly Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Holly Grove cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
The family received friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 25, at the funeral home.
Laverne Montgomery Gore
Laverne Montgomery Gore, age 78, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2005 at her daughter’s home in North Little Rock.
She was born Oct. 2, 1927 in De Queen to Elmer Lee and Kate Mae Williamson Montgomery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Adam Gore; four brothers, Alfus Montgomery, Alvie Montgomery, Cleo “Dutch” Montgomery, and Wiley Ray Montgomery; and two sisters, Ella Ridley and Lucy Pennington.
She is survived by her children, Larry Gore of Jonesboro and Jane McKinney of North Little Rock; a sister, Alta Hendricks; a brother, Manton Montgomery; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
