Rickey Joe Zanzeberg
Rickey Joe Zanzeberg, age 59, a resident of Grannis, Arkansas passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022 at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
He was born February 2, 1962 in De Queen, Arkansas. He was a member of Grannis Baptist Church. Rickey enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, going to church and loved to talk.
Rickey was preceded in death by his mother, Jessie Faye Zanzeberg; father-in-law, Lindon Smith and grandparents, Iz and Ruth Zanzeberg.
He is survived by is father, Joe Zanzeberg of Grannis; his wife, Melissa Zanzeberg; one daughter and son-in-law, Kayla and Carlos Rodriguez; one son and daughter-in-law, Chance and Courtney Zanzeberg of Grannis; five grandchildren, Kensley Zanzeberg, Ale Rodriguez, Tabatha Rodriguez, Brailey Zanzeberg and Kyndal Zanzeberg; one brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Lisa Zanzeberg of Grannis; one sister and brother-in-law, Diann and Wayne Wise of Grannis and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services from Mr. Zanzeberg will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 14, 2022 in the Grannis Cemetery with John Wissinger officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 13, 2022 at the funeral home in De Queen.
Mr. Charles Ligon, Jr.
Mr. Charles Henderson Ligon, Jr., age 88, resident of Horatio, Arkansas, passed from this life on Friday, January 7, 2022, at his home.
Charles was born one of four children to the union of Charlie Henderson Ligon and Della Elizabeth Wilson Ligon on June 30, 1933, in Lockesburg, Arkansas. He was a graduate of Lockesburg High School and served a short time with the National Guard. Charles married the love of his life, Reventa Brown, on August 17, 1954, in Idabel, Oklahoma. He worked many years in Mill Supply at De Queen and Eastern/Texas, Oklahoma, and Eastern Railroad, retiring from Weyerhauser Company. After retirement, he spent his time working in different capacities, including Coy Wiles Tire Company and Chandler Funeral Home in De Queen. Charles and Reventa are faithful members of the Horatio First Assembly of God Church, where he served as an Elder. Charles served eighteen years as Chaplain for Pilgrim’s Pride in De Queen. He was a long-standing member of Gideon’s International, enjoyed fishing, and cherished the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Chester Ligon and Dewey Ligon; and a sister, Bessie LaGrou.
Charles leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of over 67 years, Reventa Ligon of Horatio; one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Christy Ligon of De Queen; one daughter, Rhonda Wright of Horatio; three grandchildren, Charles Ray Ligon of De Queen, J.D. Ligon and his wife Kristen of West Fork, and Will Wright of Fayetteville; two great-grandchildren, Jameson Ligon of New Boston, and Kora Ligon of West Fork; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
Memorial Services for Mr. Charles Ligon, Jr. will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 15, 2022, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John Gutierres officiating. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen.
Vertie Louise Shelton
Vertie Louise Shelton, age 66, a resident of Foreman, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at The Springs of Mine Creek in Nashville.
She was born August 18, 1955. She graduated from Ashdown High School.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Lee and Stella Mae Keeney Shelton; maternal grandparents, Robert and Tinnia Kenney; paternal grandparents, Henry and Iva Shelton.
She is survived by four aunts, one uncle and numerous cousins.
Graveside services for Ms. Shelton will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 13, 2022 in the Alleene Cemetery Pavilion with Audie Dawson officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Judy Mae Kelly
Judy Mae Hankins Kelly, age 74, a resident of Cave City, Arkansas formerly of Gillham, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Cave City Nursing and Rehab.
She was born September 23, 1947 in De Queen, Arkansas. Judy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gillham.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Nellie Carpenter Hankins; her husband, Peter Johnathan Kelly; two sisters, Clora Holland and Maudie Hankins; one nephew, Heath Kelly.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Dawn Kelly; Jason and Carmen Kelly and; one daughter and son-in-law, Athena and Micha Welsh; eight grandchildren, Alysia, Paul, Cydney, Cheyenne, Natalie, Zachary, Ana and Noah; two nieces, Terresa Cox and Anastasia Holzhauser; four nephews, Seth Kelly, Sias Kelly, David Holzhauser, Shawn Holzhauser and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kelly will be held at 2:00p.m., Sunday, January 9, 2022 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jerry Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Valley Cemetery in Gillham under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the funeral home in De Queen.
Larry Dean Dockins
Larry Dean Dockins, age 71, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Bear Creek Nursing and Rehab.
He was born July 4, 1950 in Dallas, Texas. Larry enjoyed watching football on the tv and loved fishing and hunting. He worked for Pilgrims chicken plant. He graduated from Horatio High School and was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Pauline Collinsworth Dockins; two brothers, Jimmy Dockins and Kenneth Dockins; one sister, Debora Hibbs.
He is survived by one brother, Charlie Dockins; one sister, Judy and husband Shorty Neal; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Graveside service for Mr. Dockins will be held at 12:00 Noon, Friday, January 7, 2022 at Milwee Cemetery in Horatio with Larry Sherman officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Joshua Brock Taylor
Joshua Brock Taylor, age 43, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021 in CHI St. Vincent in Hot Springs.
He was born November 4, 1978 in Texarkana, Texas. Joshua was a carpenter and graduated from the RSAT program in Sevier County. He attended the First Baptist Church in De Queen. He loved arrowhead hunting, going fishing and loved his family most of all.
Joshua is survived by his daughter, Zoey Ann Taylor of Lockesburg, Arkansas; mother, Kimberly Ann Wester of Antlers, Oklahoma; father, Geary Lynn Taylor of Howe, Oklahoma, one brother, Tony Stephens of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one niece, one nephew and many friends.
A memorial service for Mr. Taylor will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in De Queen with Rev. Josh Herweck officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Virgil Lee Bailey
Virgil Lee Bailey, age 84, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022 in Texarkana.
He was born August 23, 1937 in Dierks, Arkansas. He graduated from Henderson Teacher’s College with a Bachelor’s degree in education. He was tour foreman at Briar Plant, and was a Sergeant with the Army Reserves. He was a farmer and rancher and a member of Dierks Church of Christ.
Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, Coy Thomas and Ava L. Newton Bailey; his wife, Rose Jeanette Graves Bailey; one grandson, Brian Scott Stapp; one brother, Earl Bailey; one sister, Olene Hendrix; and nephew, Coy Lee Lemons.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Joey and Kammy Bailey of Ashdown, Arkansas; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Scott Stapp of Dierks; two sisters, Christine Lemons of Nashville, Arkansas and Judy Gibson of Frisco, Texas; one brother, Ray Gene Bailey of Paron, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Steven and wife, Paula Stapp, Kaitlyn Stapp, Taylor Tallant, Coy Bailey; two great grandchildren, Sawyer Stapp and Claire Stapp and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside service for Mr. Bailey will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Sunshine Cemetery with Terry Martin officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral home.
