Mr. Ralph Wigley
Mr. Ralph Lynn Wigley, age 68, resident of Jacksonville, Arkansas, passed from this life on Monday, December 13, 2021, in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Ralph was born the oldest of four children to the union of James Lavoy and Hazel Marie Scott Wigley on August 18, 1953, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. He worked many years in highway construction and later worked twenty plus years for Bolin Roofing in Jacksonville. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working, spending time at home, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Kay Wigley; and a granddaughter, Shaina Wigley.
Ralph leaves to cherish his memory, five children and their spouses, Tony and Jennifer Wigley of Cove, James and Kristen Wigley of De Queen, Tami Carden of De Queen, Tara Lewis of South Jordan, Utah, and Heather and Jared Wilkins of Twin Falls, Utah; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three siblings and their spouses, Richard and Vicki Wigley of Booneville, Kathy and Donald Parker of De Queen, and Douglas and Kathy Wigley of Cove; his significant other, Sandra Smith of Jacksonville; special friend and boss of more than twenty years, James Bolin of Jacksonville; special friend, Bro. Terry; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Hilario Aparicio
Hilario Aparicio, age 61, a resident of Belleville, Arkansas passed away on Friday, December 17, 2021 at Baptist Medical in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
He was born November 3, 1960 in Guerrero, Mexico. He was a Christian. He worked in Pilgrims in De Queen. He enjoyed fishing, watching movies, loved getting massages and spending time with his family.
Hilario was preceded in death by his mother, Camerina Nava; his wife, Josefina Alcocer.
He is survived by his father, Cheo Eliseo Aparicio and spouse, Maria Asuncion Aparicio; children, Nancy and husband, Jorge Martinez, Jose Aparicio and wife, Evelyn Andrade, Sandy and husband, Jose Martinez, Leidy Araina Aparicio and husband, Eric Ramirez, Juan and wife, Patricia Aparicio, Josefina Aparacio, Cecilia and husband, Jhonny Pioquinto, Carolina Aparicio, fifteen grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Hilario will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Praise Temple Church in De Queen with Horatio Sotelo officiating. Burial will follow at Redmen Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral home.
The family will be at the church starting at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday and will remain until service time.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday, December 20, 2021 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen.
Bobbie Jean Hunter Day
Ms. Bobbie Jean Hunter Day age 87, of De Queen, AR passed from this life on Thursday, December 16, 2021 in Hot Springs, AR. She was born in De Queen on March 22, 1934 to Robert “Bob” Hunter and Rosa Davis Hunter. In 1954, she married Harold Day and to this union four children were born.
Ms. Day was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, a graduate of De Queen High School and former employee of Gibsons and Fred’s. She enjoyed watching movies, listening to music especially Elvis and was a big Razorback fan.
Ms. Day was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Day, daughter, Donna Day, son, Cliff Day, grandson, Andrew Day, brother, Howard Hunter, and parents, Robert and Rosa Hunter.
Left to mourn her passing are two sons, Tracy Day and Michael Day and wife, Janis all of De Queen; five grandchildren, Jessyca Hernandez, Hunter Day, Logan Day, Jacob Fryar, and Amie Heckerman; eight great grandchildren and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice and David Frady of De Queen, Sandi and Jeff Stovall of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Lou and Carl Imhof of Rogers, Arkansas; and sister-in-law Rita Hunter of Royal, Arkansas; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services for Mrs. Bobbie will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 20, 2021 at the Ben Lomond Cemetery with Larry Fry officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral home.
General viewing will be from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, December 19, 2021 at the funeral home in De Queen.
Carroll Elston Jarrell
Carroll Jarrell, age 89, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at his home in De Queen. He was born January 10, 1932 to Coy E. and Iva Jo Jarrell in Star City, Arkansas.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 66 years, JoAnn Jarrell; two daughters, Donna Jo Jones and Kimberly Ann Jarrell, both of De Queen; his brother and sister-in-law, James A. and Doris Jarrell of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Jack Pearce of De Queen, sister-in-law, Golda Chaney of North Miami, Florida; four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Jarrell was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Betty Ann Pearce.
The greatest joy in his life was when he became a grandfather. His two granddaughters, Chelsea Brianne Jones of Fayetteville, Arkansas and McKenzie Jo Jones of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and two grandsons, Joshua and wife, Courtney Snow, Kyle and wife, Lisa Snow; three great grandchildren, Asher, Kinslee and Nixon Snow all of Queen City, Texas. They were the light of his life.
He served as a Master Sergeant for 22 years in the United States Air Force, and served in Korea and the Vietnam Conflict. Upon retirement he returned home to De Queen where he was a carpenter and beekeeper. He married the love of his life, JoAnn Churchman on January 20, 1955, and to this union they had two daughters, Donna and Kim. He loved to fish and enjoyed numerous trips to Canada with his brother, James A. “Buddy” Jarrell.
Funeral services for Mr. Jarrell will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Jack Pearce officiating. Burial will follow in the Redmen Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Tommy “Governor” Stark
Mr. James Thomas Stark, known to most as “Tommy”, passed from this life on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at his home in Gillham. He was 76.
Tommy was born the oldest of seven children to the union of James Monroe and Margaret Lucille Martin Stark on August 6, 1945, in Gillham, Arkansas. He was a 1963 graduate of Gillham High School and faithfully served with the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Tommy began a nearly life-long truck driving career. During his many years on the road, he received the CB handle: “Governor”. He married the love of his life, Mary Rebecca “Maxine” Cunningham, on February 14, 1970, in Gillham. He was an accomplished mechanic and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and sharing his produce, working on things, and spending time with loving family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of over 51 years, Maxine Stark; two brothers, Floyd Stark and Fred Stark; one sister, Lillie Mae Stark; sister-in-law, Virginia Stark; his best friends, Udell Loyd, David Whisenhunt, Phillip Vann, and Donnie Vann; as well as other relatives and dear friends.
Tommy leaves to cherish his loving memory, two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Tamara Stark of De Queen, and Rodney and Aimee Stark of Wickes; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberley and Jessie Vaughn, Jr. of Gillham, and Brandy and Jason Gore of Gillham; eleven grandchildren, Brooke Scott, James Stark, Megan Stark, Hailey Carter, Grant Stark, Caitlyn Carter, Eli Stark, Rebecca Vaughn, Braelynn Vaughn, Garrett Gore, and Hannah Stark; three brothers, Paul Edward Stark and wife Mary of Watson, Oklahoma, Lawrence Stark of Gillham, and Alfred Stark and wife Penny of Haworth, Oklahoma; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Tommy Stark will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, December 16, 2021, at the Wickes Pentecostal Church of God with Bro. Chris Burke officiating. Judy Ann Morris
Judy Ann Sheckler Morris, age 77, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs.
She was born May 22, 1944 in Huntington, Indiana. She was retired from Weyerhaeuser. Judy loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed going to the casino and playing games with her family.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband, James Morris, Jr.; her parents, Lyman and Agnes Lily Sheckler; four brothers, Donnie Sheckler, Darrell Sheckler, Garl Irvan, Kenny Irvan; five sisters, Helen Ramsey, Thelma Sheckler, Imogene Gibson, Diane Sheckler, and Joyce Sheckler; one brother-in-law, Charles Morris, two sisters-in-law, Betty Brown, June Estep; one grandchild, Meagan.
She is survived by her children, Stephanie Miller and husband David of Temple, Texas, Kim Morris of Shreveport, James E. Morris and Missy Glasgow of Dierks; two brothers, Floyd and Boyd Sheckler of Indiana; one sister, Gladys Sheckler; six grandchildren, Heath Miller and his wife, Hilary, Keith Miller and his wife, Becky, Renny Miller and Michael and Shelly Glasgow, Cohen Pond and Braiden Glasgow; five great grandchildren, Layten, Kali and Allee Miller, Karter Miller and several nieces and nephews and her dog, Shaq.
Funeral services for Mrs. Morris will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 17, 2021 at the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in Dierks with Kenny Fant officiating. Burial will follow in the Fellowship Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the funeral home in Dierks.
Mrs. Bettye Nipper
Mrs. Bettye Jo Barnhill Nipper, age 75, resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, passed away Friday, December 10, 2021, in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
She was born to the union of Joe Newsome Barnhill, Sr., and Flora Elina Turnbough Barnhill, on January 19, 1946, in De Queen. She was a graduate of Cove High School and went on to Beauty School. She married the love of her life, Hoyt Wayne Nipper, on February 11, 1965, in Poteau, Oklahoma, and to this marriage, three children were born. Bettye began her career with Pilgrim’s Pride in 1985, starting at the Hatchery in De Queen. She retired in 2008 after twenty-three years of service. She enjoyed cooking, word-searches, plants, flowers, and her beloved dog – Sally. More than anything, she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 34 years, Hoyt Wayne Nipper; a grandson, Dalton Janes; her brother, Joe Barnhill, Jr.; her sister, Catherine Shipp; a special friend, Helen Downing; and a number of other loved ones.
Bettye, or “Granny” as she was known to her loving family and friends, leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter and son-in-law, Shanin and Paul Hollis of Lockesburg; two sons and daughter-in-law, Lannon and Lynn Nipper of Watson, Oklahoma, and Wayne Nipper of Lockesburg; five grandchildren, Cole Lee Hunter and David Russell of De Queen, Bubba Pollard and Amber Rapp of Lockesburg, Chellsey Walton of Horatio, Landon James of Watson, and Hoyt Nipper of Watson; twelve great-grandchildren, Kobie Janes, Casen Hunter, Kaden Hunter, Bonner Russell, Bolton Russell, Jakeb Pollard, Ashlee Pollard, Josh Pollard, Jonn Thomas Pollard, Brinn Twaddle, Riley Walton, and Cayden James; three sisters-in-law, Nelda Glover of Lockesburg, Belva Nipper of Lockesburg, and Corene Page of Shawnee, Oklahoma; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Bettye Nipper will be privately held, with interment at Baker Cemetery in Wickes. Family and friends are welcome to the home of Shanin Hollis, 1077 Provo Road, Lockesburg, Arkansas.
