James Edward Robb
James Edward Robb age 71, passed from this earth on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at his home in Hope, Arkansas. He was born Sunday, September 11, 1949 to Harvey and Janey Robb.

James enjoyed fishing, doing word search puzzle’s, watching his grand kids play sports, selling produce and spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and the mother of his children, Lucy Robb.

James is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Tonya Robb of Hope; his daughter, Melissa Robb of Grannis; his grandchildren, Lillie, Sophie, and J.T. Robb; his brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Leona Robb; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

A graveside memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Baker Cemetery.

Mr. Liobardo Munoz-Lopez
Mr. Liobardo Munoz-Lopez, age 42, resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed from this life on Sunday, August 15, 2021.

Liobardo was born the fourth of six children to Cenorina Munoz Rios and Balbina Lopez Alcocer on September 28, 1978, in Ixcamilpa, de Guerreo, PUE, Mexico. He was a contract carpenter specializing in home building and member of St. Barbara Catholic Church in De Queen. Liobardo enjoyed fishing, hunting, soccer, and spending time with his sons, grandson, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cenorina Munoz Rios; and a brother, Ernesto Munoz-Lopez.

Liobardo is survived by two sons, Cristopher Munoz of De Queen, and Alexander Munoz of Fort Smith; one grandson, Julian Munoz of De Queen; his mother, Balbina Lopez of De Queen; his grandmother, Delfina Alcocer of De Queen; one brother, Julio Munoz-Lopez of De Queen; three sisters, Ambrosia Alvarado of Springdale; Maribel Lopez of Mexico; and Teresa Munoz of De Queen; as well as nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Funeral Mass for Mr. Liobardo Munoz-Lopez will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at St. Barbara Catholic Church in De Queen with Father Ramses Mendietta officiating. Burial will follow at Redmen Cemetery. Rosary services will begin at 7:00 P.M., Monday, in the Pastoral Center at St. Barbara Catholic Church. Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen.

Donald Lee Farrow
Mr. Donald Lee Farrow, age 88, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, died Wednesday, August 18, 2021 in Little River Memorial Hospital in Ashdown, Arkansas.

He was born December 31, 1932 in Old Mannford, Oklahoma. He was a truckdriver, a member of the Old Time Gospel Church and a U.S. Navy veteran serving in Korea on the USS Frank Evans DD-754. He was a musician playing all over the area and loved church singings and playing music at nursing homes.

Mr. Farrow was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy “Dot” Farrow; his parents, Clarence Roscoe and Ollie Edna Sutton Farrow; five brothers, Lloyd, Billy Joe, Alvin “Duroc”, Jesse and Jimmy Farrow and one grandson, Cody Farrow.

He is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Roy and Brenda Farrow of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Ken and Kay Farrow of Sulphur Springs, Arkansas and Clay Farrow of Taos, New Mexico; one daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Kevin Smart of Lockesburg; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Twila and Danny Young, Shirley Zickefoose and Patricia and Gene Riley; two brothers and sisters-in-law, J.W. “Bud” and Neoma Farrow and Darrell and Lou Farrow, all of Oklahoma, 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Farrow will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Old Time Gospel Church near Lockesburg with Jerrel Helms and Chief Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in De Queen, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.

Bonita Louise Hutchison Birdsong
Mrs. Bonita Louise Hutchison Birdsong, age 77, a resident of Millerton, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Pleasant Manor Nursing and Rehab in Ashdown, Arkansas.

She was born April 21, 1944 in De Queen, Arkansas to William Chester and Myrtle Ruth Hume Hutchison. She was a homemaker and member of the Church of God in Idabel, Oklahoma. She graduated from Amarillo High in 1963. She and her husband were owners of Birdsong Appliance in De Queen for 17 years.

Mrs. Birdsong was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Jimmie Birdsong; her parents; her daughter, Faye Ann Birdsong and two brothers, Steve Hutchison and John Hutchison.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-laws, Jerry and Misti Birdsong of Edgewood, New Mexico and Jeffrey and Brandy Birdsong of Haworth, Oklahoma; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Sandra Hutchison of De Queen, Arkansas, Jr. and Linda Hutchison of Delight, Arkansas and David and Susan Hutchison of Decatur, Texas; Two sisters-in-law, Barbara Hutchison McLaughlin of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Lynn Lovelace of Ruidoso, New Mexico; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Donald and Nina Birdsong of De Queen, Arkansas;10 grandchildren, Morgan, Kody, Tyler, Maygun, Kyelin, Nikolus, Kamryn, Alexander, Tracy and Tyler, 12 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, August 21, 2021in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen. Cremation will follow with burial at Redmen Cemetery at a later date.

Oliver Nolan Purtell
On August 14, 2021, Oliver Nolan Purtell went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to see his dearly beloved wife, Dolretta (Dolly) Purtell.

Nolan was born October 26, 1926, in Provo, Arkansas.

When he was 17 years old, he joined the US Army Air Corps. While serving during the Second World War, he was trained in photography and navigation and ended his service guarding the Panama Canal. He achieved expert marksman and he was a recipient of the World War II Victory Medal. After leaving the military he met Dolly on a blind date and fell in love with her at first sight. They were married on May 9, 1952, and he loved and cherished her until she died 66 years later.

Nolan was a keen businessman, and after 23 years of working for the Frank Lyon Company, he had another career as a manufacturer representative for appliances, cabinets, commercial ice and laundry equipment. He was an accomplished real estate investor.

He had a deep appreciation for God’s creation, and he was profoundly interested in trees. Nolan nurtured hundreds of seedlings into trees, many of which stand as a monument to his earthly impact.

Nolan’s primary passion is Christ. From the day he was saved in 1969 to the day he died, he creatively sought ways to bring people to Christ. He once participated in a door-to-door campaign in Highland County, Ohio to give a Bible to every household that did not already have one. Nolan and Dolly had a zeal for teaching children about Christ and contributed to Christian education throughout their lives.

He was a long-time member of Northview Baptist Church, Hillsboro, Ohio.

He is preceded in death by his wife Dolly Purtell and his sisters, Lucille Brook, Marie Sugg, Lydia Smalling, and Doris Jean Purtell.

Nolan was the patriarch of a beautiful family, each of whom is proud to call him father, grandfather, great-grandfather, or uncle. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Terry Nolan Purtell (Patty), Duane Purtell (Barbara), and Denise Bradley (Jerrold) who rejoice in his receiving his heavenly reward. His grandchildren Rebecka King, Angela Renée Morgan, Terry Seth Purtell, Michelle Ranney, Melissa Davis, Nicholas Bradley, Devon Hamilton, Matthew Bradley, Lindsey Greenfield, Michael Bradley, Ryan Bradley, and Meagan Love are grateful for his constant love and prayers for them. He also leaves behind 30 great-grandchildren who are growing up under the Christian heritage that he and his wife Dolly have left them.

Nolan will be remembered by his descendants, surviving sister Maxine La Flamme, and friends for a legacy of hard work, integrity, and faith.

A memorial service for Oliver Nolan Purtell will be held at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Provo, Arkansas at 11:00 on August 21, 2021, with Pastor Larry Fry officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

There will be a visitation at 10:00.

Lee Scott Austin
Lee Scott Austin, age 58, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died, Saturday, August 14, 2021 at his home.

He was born October 7, 1962 in De Queen, Arkansas. He was a mason. He was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors and being with his friends and family.

Lee was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Willie Joe Austin and his father-in-law, Bobby Miller.

He is survived by his wife Amy Miller Austin of Horatio; his children, Tyler Austin of Memphis, Tennessee, Jessie Buchanan of Collierville, TN, Ashley Miller of Lockesburg, Alexandria Trotter of De Queen, Richard Trotter and Kaden Miller of Lockesburg; his mother, Tommie Cherry of Fort Smith, Arkansas; two brothers, Joe Austin and wife Rachel Buff of Milwaukee, WI and Jon Austin and wife Vickie of Springdale, Arkansas; five grandchildren and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The burial will be private.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Christopher Todd Brackett
Christopher Todd Brackett, age 50, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, died Thursday, August 12, 2021 at his home.

He was born October 15, 1970 in De Queen, Arkansas. He worked at Hexion in Hope, Arkansas, was a former investigator for the Sevier County Sheriff’s office and worked for Arkansas State Police. He loved hunting and fishing and was obsessed with his grandson, Walker.

Chris was preceded in death by one son, Austin Brackett.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Aaron and Kara Brackett of Lockesburg; his parents, Jerry Paul and Brenda Kay (Revels) Brackett of Lockesburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Karla and Larry Shelton of Horatio; one brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Jodi Brackett of Lockesburg; his grandson, Walker Brackett; three nephews, Josh Smith, Landon Brackett and Carson Brackett and one niece, Morgan Smith.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 17, 2021, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
