Emra Kathryn (Kathy) Grant
(November 2, 1955 - November 14, 2011)
Emra Kathryn (Kathy) Grant was born to William Thomas and Bernice Walker Tackett on November 2, 1955 in Sweet Home, Oregon. She went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on November 14, 2011 at Texarkana, Texas at the age of 56 years and 12 days.
She was united in marriage to Billy Frank Grant, Sr. on September 28, 1974. They had one son, Billy Frank Grant,, Jr. She was a processor for 27 years at the Pilgrims Pride Processing Plant and was of the Nazarene Faith. She loved to go camping and fishing, and enjoyed cooking and crocheting and liked reading and doing puzzles. Kathy was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and was a friend to many. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband Billy Grant of DeQueen, Arkansas

Brothers: William Tackett and wife Lynn of Sweet Home, Oregon Tom Tackett and wife Barbara of Sweet Home, Oregon Robert Tatum and wife Alicia of Gillham, Arkansas Lewis Tatum and wife Elisabeth of Waco, Texas
Brothers- In-Law: Thomas Grant and wife Consuelo of Cove, Arkansas John Grant of Watson, Oklahoma
Sisters-in- Law: Rose Huff and husband Rick of Watson, Oklahoma Ruth Starr and husband Norris of Mena, Arkansas
She was preceded in death by her father, William Tackett and a brother, James Tackett.
Funeral services will be Friday, November 18, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Church of the Nazarene Brother Bobby Tatum officiating. Interment follows in Pleasant Grove Cemetery at Cove under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.
Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday evening, November 17th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be John Roberts, Keith Roberts, Glenn Roberts, Arbus “Slim” Manns, Jerry Petit, and Renzer Vance.
Sharon Gale Williams Pigeon
Mrs. Sharon Gale Williams Pigeon, age 64, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Titus Regional Medical Center in Mt Pleasant, Texas.
She was born March 25, 1957 in Lubbock, Texas. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family especially her grandkids. Mrs. Pigeon taught school in the De Queen School system for 30 years and was principal of De Queen Primary. She loved her school family and was a member of First Christian Church.
Mrs. Pigeon was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert Thomas, Sr. and Dorothy Margaret Grimes Williams.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Levi Pigeon; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lacey and Brent Young of De Queen; Leigh Ann and Bo Frachiseur of Corpus Christie, TX; one sister and brother-in-law, Liz and Terrel Gore of Kankakee, IL; one brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Kelly Williams of De Queen; four grandchildren, Bradi Young, Presli Young, Harper Young and Hank Young; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pigeon will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Frist Assembly of God in De Queen with Micah Martin and Bradi Young officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 6-8p.m., Friday, May 28th at the funeral home in De Queen.
Margaret Janet Caughie Williams
Margaret Janet Caughie Williams, (Maggie), aged 95, formerly of De Queen, passed peacefully from this life in the early morning hours of May 16, 2021. Maggie was born June 7, 1925 to Samuel Oliver and Florence Emily (Oldfield) Caughie in York, England. Maggie graduated from Queen Anne preparatory school in York in the spring of 1943. In July 1943, Maggie married Selby James (Ted) Day of South Orange, New Jersey in York. Ted was stationed near York serving with the Royal Air Force, flying Lancaster bombers. Ted passed in the summer of 1944, due to complications from injuries suffered flying bombing raids over Germany. At the behest of her Mother-in-Law, Maggie crossed the Atlantic in November of 1944, attended Secretarial School and settled in New York City. Maggie worked as a secretary for CBS, the advertising agency of Cunningham and Walsh and lastly in New York, as the personal assistant for Ms. Faye Emerson. While in New York, Maggie met A.O. (Cotton) Williams of De Queen, who was at the time a Special Agent with the FBI, working out of the Manhattan field office. Maggie and Cotton married in September of 1952 in De Queen. In 1954, Maggie and Cotton moved to Little Rock to start a family, after realizing that New York was not a good place to raise children. Maggie worked in Little Rock as a secretary for Herbert (Boots) Coleman of Coleman Dairy and subsequently for C.J. Jacuzzi of Jacuzzi Brothers. In April of 1964, the family moved to De Queen, where Maggie worked as a bookkeeper for the De Queen Bee Company and later as a secretary for attorney Jim Bob Steele in Nashville, Arkansas. Maggie Retired in 1991. In 2001, Maggie moved to Marion, Arkansas to be close to family.
Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Nyn, Mildred (Mickey), Gladys, Evelyn and Ann. Maggie is survived by one son, Alan Williams of Memphis, Tennessee, one granddaughter, Catelyn (Matt) Chadwick of Sheridan, Arkansas, one grandson, Adam Williams of Memphis, Tennessee, and one great granddaughter Maggie Jo Chadwick of Sheridan. One brother, Malcolm Caughie of Finley, England one sister, Helen Castle of Melbourne, Australia and a number of nieces and nephews in England and Australia.
A memorial visitation is scheduled on May 29, 2021 between the hours of 2:00 and 4:00 at Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Margie Jackson
Mrs. Margie Levina Mickle Jackson, age 82, of De Queen, Arkansas, passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, May 22, 2021 in De Queen.

Mrs. Linda Brazile
Mrs. Linda Ann Penney Brazile, 81, died Saturday, May 22, 2021 surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be from 6-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 26, 2021 in Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.
Linda Ann (aka Big Mama) was born July 15, 1939 in De Queen, AR to E.T. and Angeline Hopson Penney. She resided in Amarillo most of her life. Linda Ann married Harold Brazile on June 8, 1957. Together they owned and operated Harold’s Lil Meat Market in 1964 and later, Harold’s Farmers Market on 1308 S. Grand St. until they gave the reins over to their son, Lyndon. Linda also helped Harold to establish and run HFM Trucking Co.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are sons, Lyndon Brazile and wife, Tracy of Amarillo and Steve Brazile and wife, Lorraine of St. Louis, MO; daughter, Kim Benson and husband, Tim of Amarillo; sister, Marian Chandler of De Queen, AR; “Big Mama” to her five grandchildren, McKenzie Lawson, Magen Brazile, J.D. Benson, Emerson Brazile, Camden Brazile and Addison Brazile; and one very special great-grandchild, Macee Brazile.
She loved her grandchildren and was an active participant in helping raise them; her recipes and memories of spending time cooking with her are cherished by her family.

Hercel Bernell Cox, Sr.
Hercel Bernell Cox, Sr., died May 23, 2021 at Howard Memorial Hospital. He was a resident of the Dierks Health and Rehab.
Hercel (H.B.) was born January 22, 1921, to Horace C. Cox and Mary Pearl Graves Cox. He was the first of their four children; Vaughn, Lloyd, and Dean Cox Cody. He was a life long resident of Green’s Chapel Community, Dierks, Arkansas.
H.B. was a 1940 graduate of Lockesburg High School. Upon his entry in the U.S. Army in 1942, he became a Private First Class Military Policeman until his tour of duty was completed in 1946. While stationed in Illinois, H.B. met Margaret Lucille Geiger and married her in 1945. After returning to civilian life, the couple moved to Green’s Chapel Community where their first child, Hercel B. Cox, Jr. was born on April 4, 1947.
H.B. worked for Dierks Lumber and Weyerhaeuser until his retirement after 35 years of employment as a millwright. H.B. was a member of Green’s Chapel Methodist Church and a former President of the Green’s Chapel Cemetery Committee.
H.B.’s parents Horace and Pearl Cox, brothers Lloyd and Vaughn Cox predeceased him. He leaves behind his son, Hercel Cox, Jr. and wife LaQuita, grandson Paul and wife Kristi, great-granddaughter Addison Louise Cox, sister Dean Cody, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for H.B. will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at Green’s Chapel Methodist Church with Jerry Cox officiating and the Pastor Carroll Jackson presiding. Burial to follow in Green’s Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time, Tuesday, May 25th at the church.
Mrs. Maxine Stark
Mrs. Mary Rebecca “Maxine” Cunningham Stark, age 71, of Gillham, Arkansas, passed peacefully from this life on Friday, May 21, 2021, at the home of her daughter in Gillham.
Maxine was born the third of seven children to James Grant and Norma Dean Scott Cunningham on May 5, 1950, in Mena, Arkansas. She married the love of her life, James Thomas Stark, on February 14, 1970, in Gillham, and to this union, two sons and two daughters were born. Maxine and Tommy attended church at the Wickes Pentecostal Church of God, and she enjoyed fishing, gardening, yardwork, antique shopping, and baking pies for her family, but most of all she cherished the time she spent caring for and loving her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ernie Cunningham; and one sister, Penny Wax.
Those left to cherish her many memories include her husband of over 51 years, Tommy Stark of Gillham; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Tamara Stark of De Queen, and Rodney and Aimee Stark of Wickes; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberley and Jessie Vaughn, Jr. of Gillham, and Brandy and Jason Gore also of Gillham; eleven grandchildren, Brooke Scott, James Stark, Megan Stark, Hailey Carter, Grant Stark, Caitlyn Carter, Eli Stark, Rebecca Vaughn, Braelynn Vaughn, Garrett Gore, and Hannah Stark; one brother, Jim Cunningham of Waldron; three sisters, Thelma Thompkins and Maggie Stark, both of Waldron, and Aggie (Glen) Parnell of Mena; as well as, nieces, nephews, her loving church family, and friends.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Maxine Stark will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, May 24, 2021 at the Wickes Pentecostal Church of God with Bro. Chris Burke officiating. Cremation will follow, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
