Raymond Leonard Horn
Raymond Leonard Horn, age 84, a resident of Arkinda, Arkansas, died Friday, March 12, 2021 in Texarkana, Arkansas.

He was born November 20, 1936, in Arkinda. He was a 1955 graduate of Winthrop High School in Winthrop, Arkansas. In August 1956 he was hired at Convair-General Dynamics in Fort Worth, Texas building fiberglass wings for 18 years. On July 15, 1956 Raymond married Margaret Anne Smith at First Baptist Church in Foreman. He retired from Ash Grove Cement after 25 years of service. He loved animals especially dogs and hunting and fishing. He also read lots of Louis L’Amour books and other western authors.

Mr. Horn was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Leonard Horn; mother and step-father, Dorothy Fortner Horn George and Jessie Andrew George; two sisters, Patsy Lou Huffman and Gretta Ozee; daughter-in-law, Sherry Lynn Williams Horn; and one great-grandson Dalton Ryan Jaquess.

He is survived by his wife of 64 ˝ years, Margaret Anne Horn of Arkinda; two sons, Andy Horn of Texarkana, Arkansas and Jim Horn and Mary Sue Morton of Foreman, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Sheree Hardin, Caleb Horn, Joshua Horn and Erin Self; five great-grandchildren, Jacey Jaquess, William and Parker Self, Carson and Laynie Horn; two sisters, Kathryn Ogden of Fort Worth, Texas and Florence Bradshaw of Arlington, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Horn will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday March 16, 2021 in Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen with Brother Gary Steiner officiating. Burial will follow at Blackland cemetery in Foreman.

The family will receive friends Monday, March 15, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at the funeral home

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital, 1 Children’s Way, Little Rock, Arkansas 72202 or Blackland Cemetery Association C/O Horatio State Bank in Foreman, Arkansas.

The family requests that everyone wear a face mask and practice social distancing for safety.

Ann Yocum
Mrs. Lilly Ann Conatser Yocum, age 74, of De Queen, Arkansas, passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at her home.

She was born to Henry David and Pansy Marie Hartzell Conatser on September 6, 1946 in California. She married the love of her life, Henry Eldon Yocum, on March 6, 1968 in De Queen, and to this union, two daughters were born. Ann was a Homemaker and member of the Beacon Hill Seventh Day Adventist Church in De Queen. When she was able, Ann served at the Community Service Director with the church. She enjoyed reading, embroidery, genealogy, and bible study, but most of all, she cherished the time spent visiting with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Pansy Conatser; her loving husband, Henry Yocum; one daughter, Marlana Yocum; and one brother, David Conatser.

Ann leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Lanette Rogers of De Queen; five grandchildren, Timothy Rogers, Jessica Chandler, Daunté Yocum, Nate Yocum, and Mia Yocum; two great-grandchildren, Jazmyne Hill and Trinate Rogers; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Donna Conatser of Lockesburg, and Joe and Janet Conatser of Mena; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Jeff Holmes of De Queen; a special friend, Joyce Miller; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Graveside Services for Mrs. Ann Yocum will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Clear Creek Cemetery, Horatio, with Pastor Ron Patterson officiating. Burial will follow, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Emma Lee Ward Mickle
Mrs. Emma Lee Ward Mickle, age 95, of De Queen, Arkansas, passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, in Texarkana, Texas.

Emma Lee was born the eldest of five children, to Charles Bryant Ward, Sr., and Ruth Mae Moore Ward on October 28, 1925. She was raised in the little community of Almond in Sevier County. After graduating from Gillham High School, she traveled to Washington D.C. during World War II, working as a secretary for the war department near the Pentagon. She returned to marry the love of her life, M.L. Mickle, on January 5, 1946. Emma Lee was an accomplished pianist and music was always center stage in her life. She was a devoted member and pianist of the First Baptist Church in Gillham, for many years. She taught piano lessons at Gillham High School and passed her love and appreciation for music to many of her students. “Miss Emma”, as she was affectionately called, played electric keyboard with The Country Session band, doing many fundraisers all over Arkansas and Oklahoma and she loved every minute of it.

Emma Lee was a wonderful cook and homemaker, an avid reader, loved doing crossword puzzles, traveling and meeting new people, fishing, and her sweet little cat of sixteen years, Punkin. She was Postmaster of the Gillham Post Office for about ten years and knew everyone. She had an amazing memory remembering names, birthdates, anniversaries and special events, and could even read and write shorthand after 75 years!

Emma Lee was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, M.L. Mickle; two sons, Duane Mickle and Rob Mickle; one grandson, Steven Elliott; two brothers, Paul Ward and Bryant Ward; and one sister, Bonnie Mutschler.

She leaves to cherish so many loving memories, two daughters and a son-in-law, Dian Mickle of Seaside, Oregon, and Charlotte and Shannon Blankenship of De Queen; four grandchildren and their spouses, Amber (Anthony) Glass-Mathis of Hooks, Texas, Colton (Kristin) Starkey of Lancaster, Ohio, Kalem (Amy) Mickle of Lowell, Arkansas, and Armanda (Duston) Daulton of Austin, Texas; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Charlene Parker of Prineville, Oregon; as well as, many beloved nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law, dear cousins, and many friends.

Graveside Services for Mrs. Emma Lee Mickle will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Valley Cemetery, Gillham, with Pastor Jerry Hill officiating. Burial will follow, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Signing of the guestbook will be held on Friday, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers please feel free to donate to her favorite charity, St Jude’s children’s hospital, in her memory.

Edna Ruth Golden Cleghorn
Edna Ruth Golden Cleghorn, age 77, a resident of Foreman, Arkansas, died Sunday, March 7, 2021, at her home.

She was born December 4, 1943 in Foreman, Arkansas. She was a freelance writer and a homemaker. Mrs. Cleghorn was a loving mother and granny, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, bird watching, genealogy and she was a devoted Christian and member of First Assembly of God Church in Foreman.

Mrs. Cleghorn was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Samuel Sr. and Ernestine Brummett Golden; and her husband, Mathis Cordell Cleghorn; one brother, Robert (Bob) Golden, Jr.; two granddaughters, Delayia Woods and Marley Woods; one grandson, Matthew Stewart.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Frankie and Becky Cleghorn of Marietta, Oklahoma, Tommy and Lynnell Cleghorn of Foreman; three daughters and sons-in-law, Teri McIntyre and Eric of Nevada, MO; Kathy Gauldin and Calvin of Foreman; Kari Laminack and Stacy of Haslet, TX; one brother, Mike Golden and Sandy of Foreman; special niece, Linda Gregory of Foreman; 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Mrs. Cleghorn will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 11, 2021, at the Gravelly Cemetery in Foreman with Trent Liggin officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home De Queen.

General viewing will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 10th at the funeral home.

Annie Faye Sharp
Annie Faye Hill Sharp, age 95, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Sunday, March 7, 2021, in Ashdown, Arkansas.

She was born April 15, 1925 in Provo, Arkansas. She was a member of Kern Heights Baptist Church in De Queen. She lived a life full of service for others. Annie Faye Sharp held a number of jobs throughout her life to included working at Lockesburg Grocery Store, Red River Army Depot (during WWII), Mountair Poultry, Central School Cafeteria, Baldwin Piano and Organ, the Area Agency on Aging and more. Her most fulfilling job, however was probably babysitting the many children she kept and loved dearly. She was always sure to do whatever it took to take care of her precious boys.

Ms. Sharp was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew Azor and Eunice Velma Baker Hill; two sons, Leslie Glenn Sharp and Charles Wayne Sharp; eight brothers and sisters, Ive Jewell Hill, Swan Geneva Breedlove, John Dee Hill, William Hal Hill, Mildred Seely Tollette, James Randolph Hill, Veda Lloyd Hill and Levi Azor Hill.

She is survived by one son, Jimmy Sharp of Nashville; four grandchildren, Jimmy Sharp II of Sulphur, Oklahoma, Charles Glenn Houston Sharp of Mustang, Oklahoma, Brent Thomas Sharp of Irving, Texas and Kayla Ann Sharp-Estep of Clarksville, Tennessee; five great grandchildren, Jakub and Jalie Sharp, Kynsen and Jaci Estep, and Jordi Sharp; a number of nieces and nephews; and a great number of beloved friends.

Funeral services for Ms. Sharp will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2021 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen with Bro. Ben Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Wrights Chapel Cemetery.

General viewing will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 9th at the funeral home.

Cathy Lanell Palmer
Cathy Lanell Palmer, age 67, a resident of Ashdown, Arkansas, died Saturday, March 6, 2021 at her home.

She was born November 12, 1953 in De Queen. Cathy loved playing the guitar and singing country and gospel music. She was a janitor for Lockesburg school and a member of Old Time Gospel Church.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents; John Homer and Myrtle Gladys Nunn Palmer; one son-in-law, Ronny Pender.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Dericia Denson of De Queen; one daughter, Tracy Pender; two sisters, Wanda Campbell of Valliant, Oklahoma and Opal Husted of Mena, Arkansas; two brothers and a sister-in-law, J.W. Palmer, Clyde and Sue Palmer all of Valliant, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Denson, Jayla Denson, Aydan Denson, Christian Farmer, Leah Killcollins, Zachary Killcollins, Dalton KillCollins, Harley Pender and Mazzey Pender; great-grandchildren, Kayson Denson, Carson Farmer, Kaisley Simmons, Xavier Kahn, Alex Knight, Gracie Killcollins and one great-grandchild on his way Jackson Killcollins.

Funeral services for Cathy will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 12, 2021 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jerrel Helms officiating. Burial will follow at Glover Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 11th at the funeral home.

Raymond Earl (Preacher) Ward

Raymond Earl (Preacher) Ward, age 70, a lifetime resident of Dierks, Arkansas left this earth on March 5, 2021. He passed away at his home with his family by his side as were his final wish. He was born October 15, 1950, the seventh son to Clifford Leander (Andy) and Dora Lovell Worley Ward.

Earl is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ernest and Charles Ward and a sister, Doctor Patricia Ward Kelly.

He is survived by his wife Susie Turner Ward; one son, David (Lisa) Ward; two daughters, Jennifer (Jason) White and Ashley Ward Neal; six grandchildren, Dylan Eudy, Dalton Eudy, Damian Ward, Trinity White, Tristen White, Cadence Ward all of Dierks. Four brothers, Clyde and Clifton Ward of Dierks, Thomas Ward of Coushatta, Louisiana and James Ward of Texarkana, Texas, two sisters, Louise Ward George of Dardanelle, Arkansas and Linda Kay Ward Hulsey of Falcon, Colorado.

Earl was a family man, a loving father, and a lifetime logger. Preacher, a nickname Earl gained in his youth, grew up working from a young age with his father and brother in the log woods. He enjoyed taking his family camping and spending weekends at the lake boating. His favorite things to do were deer hunting and going four wheeling. In his younger years, Earl loved drag racing in his green 67 Mustang as well as building and racing cars on the dirt track. Most of all, Earl loved the Lord.

Funeral services for Mr. Ward will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 8, 2021 at Holly Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Dierks with Bro. Larry Eason officiating. Burial will follow at Fellowship Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

The family will receive friends and family from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.
