Lorean May Stout Krudwig
Lorean May Stout Krudwig, age 86, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Friday, February 19, 2021.

She was born November 27, 1934, in De Queen, Arkansas. Mrs. Krudwig worked for the De Queen School System for over 20 years. She was a member of De Queen Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethan Allen and Leora Stewman Stout; one daughter, Tracey Renee Smith, and a son-in-law, Lyle Dean Unruh.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years David Leon Krudwig; one son, David Lane Krudwig and wife Mary of Nashville, Arkansas; one daughter, Tommi Unruh-Cobb and her husband, Jerry of De Queen; one special brother, Charles Stout of Gillham, Arkansas; one sister, Mary Bassett of Houston, Texas; one son-in-law, Sam Smith of De Queen; six grandsons, Andy Krudwig of the Philippines, Cody and Hailie Unruh of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, Nick and Burgundi Unruh of De Queen, Heath and Sara Smith of Mobile, AL, Hunter and Sierra Smith of De Queen and Trapper Smith of De Queen; seven great grandchildren, Cameron and Ben Unruh, Lyle Unruh, Mattie Smith, Emilee, Gabe, Braxton Smith and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Mrs. Krudwig will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 22, 2021, at the Crosstrails Cemetery with Charles Foster Krudwig and Larry Krudwig officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home De Queen.

General viewing will be held from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m., Sunday, February 21, 2021, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family requests that everyone wear a face mask and practice social distancing for safety.

Mrs. LaTance Hankins
Mrs. LaTance Tate Hankins, age 83, a resident of Tyler, Texas, and former resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed from this life on Thursday, February 18, 2021, in a Tyler, Texas Hospital.

She was born to F. G. and Bertha Staggs Tate, on July 30, 1937, in Texarkana, Arkansas.

LaTance was a 1955 graduate of Lewisville High School. She married the love of her life, Bro. Dale Hankins on March 10, 1956, and to this union, two daughters were born. She had a love of music and was a piano instructor for many years, as well as the church organist/ pianist. She loved her Lord and was a member of the Red Springs Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas. LaTance had a contagious smile and cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Dale Hankins, and her siblings, F. A. Tate, James Tate, Vollie Tate, and Louise Castleberry.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, LaFonda Nimmons and Robbie Simpson both of Tyler, Texas, five grandchildren, Ryan Nimmons, and Joshua Simpson both of Tyler, Texas, Christopher Simpson and his wife, Sarah of Jacksonville, Texas, Daniel Simpson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Rebecca and her husband, Robert Lee of Normangee, Texas, three great-grandchildren, Summer Lee, Hunter Lee, and Bethany Lee all of Normangee, Texas, a special friend, Ryan Coffey of Tyler, Texas, her husband’s brother whom she loved as a brother, Donald and his wife, Marilyn Hankins of De Queen, a nephew, Charles Turner of De Queen, as well as nieces, other nephews, other family members and a host of friends.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, February 25, 2021 in the Valley Cemetery, Gillham, Arkansas with Bro. Collin Jones officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 24, 2021.

The use of a face mask or covering will be required during your time at the funeral home and cemetery.

Ms. Dorothy Legates

Ms. Dorothy Ann Fields Legates, age 81, resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 in Nashville, Arkansas.

She was born to Elic and Lizzie Mae Barker Fields on March 3, 1939, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She enjoyed her time spent with her many friends and staff of the Sevier County Developmental Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jimmy Ray Legates; one brother, John Henry Fields; and one sister, Jodie Fields Loyd.

She is survived by her friends and staff of the Sevier County Developmental Center.

Funeral Services for Ms. Dorothy Legates will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 23, 2021 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be held at Forest Park Cemetery, Shreveport, Louisiana, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Viewing will be general, beginning Monday, February 22nd, until service time Tuesday.

The use of a face mask or covering will be required during your time at the funeral home.

Willodeen Cary
Mrs. Willodeen Cox Cary, age 90, resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed peacefully from this life on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 in De Queen.

She was born to Chester and Ima Laverne Slaton Cox on August 24, 1930, in Avery, Texas. She worked 26 years for the United States Fish and Wildlife, retiring in August of 1982. She was member of the Community of Christ Church in Grannis and enjoyed playing golf, fishing, painting, gardening and yardwork, and animals. Willodeen was such a loving person. She was giving and would help anyone in need.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husbands, Tom Mills and Paul Wayne Cary; her son, Ronald Gene Mills; and two sisters, Frances McNatt and Faye McKeever.

She is survived by, her loving daughter-in-law, Frankie Mills of De Queen; four grandchildren, Casey Jackson of Jonesboro, Zach Jackson of Dierks, Tyler Mills of Arizona, and Justin (Trish) Mills, also of Arizona; five great-grandchildren, Kayliana Mills, Kinsley Mills, Kloey Mills, Sunny Jackson, Charley Jackson, Ethan Mills and Audrey Ann Mills; one sister, Pauline Marshall; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Willodeen Cary will be held at 9:00 A.M., Saturday, February 20, 2021 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tim Johnson officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M., Friday, at the funeral home.

The use of a face mask or covering will be required during your time at the funeral home.

Richelean Counts
Mrs. Richelean Counts, age 95, resident of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed peacefully from this life on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, in Little Rock.

She was the fourth of five children born to Wesley and Letha Lawson Blackwell on July 4, 1925 in Morton, Mississippi. She was a graduate of a Morton, Mississippi high school and married the love of her life, Rev. James Taylor (J.T.) Counts, on June 5, 1948 in Morton, Mississippi. To this union, a son and daughter were born. Mrs. Counts was a faithful member of the Mount Carmel United Methodist church in Lockesburg and was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and caring for the family home, but most of all, she cherished the time spent with her loving family and friends.

Mrs. Counts was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Rev. J.T.Counts; two brothers, Cleveland (L.T.) Blackwell and Edward Blackwell; and two sisters, Mal George and hazel Atkins.

Those left to cherish her loving memory include, one daughter, Sharrolean Levern Cobbs of Little Rock, Arkansas; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert Taylor and Monica Counts of Fishers, Indiana; six grandchildren, Brittney (Patrick) Carter, Jordan Counts, Joseph Counts, Christoper Cobbs, Corbin (Minyon) Cobbs, and Cherith (fiance, AJ Smith) Cobbs; eight great-grandchildren, Alex, Christian, Elijah, Kingston, Hogan, Harper, Caden, and Collin; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Proverbs 3:15-18 best describes the kind of lady Mrs. Richelean was: “She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her: those who hold her fast will be blessed.”

Funeral Services for Mrs. Richelean Counts will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 24, 2021 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tommy Halsell officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Springs Cemetery, Lockesburg, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friend from 12:00 P.M., until service time, Wednesday, at the funeral home.

The use of a face mask or covering will be required during your time at the funeral home.

Marlon S. Boyles

Mr. Marlon S. Boyles, age 44, resident of Ashdown, Arkansas, passed from this life on Monday, February 15, 2021 in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Funeral Services for Mr. Marlon Boyles will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, February 21, 2021 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Acres Cemetery, Horatio, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Mary Willis Sharp Christopher
Mary Willis Sharp Christopher, age 86, a resident of Center Point, Arkansas, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 17,2021 at Nashville Nursing Home.

She was born October 6, 1934, in Langley, Arkansas to Clarence and Cora Willis. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her extended family and friends.

Mrs. Christopher was preceded in death by her parents, her 1st husband and father of her children James Sharp, her 2nd husband Roy Chambliss, and her loving husband of 20+ years Earl Christopher. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Alton & Elton, her daughter, Dorothy; one sister, Gladys; three brothers, James, Edward, and Norman. One son-in-law, Bill Ward and a grandson-in-law, Pete Thornton.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; Bobby and Sally Sharp of Athens, Arkansas, daughter and son-in-law, Delois and John Sunde from Hatfield, Arkansas; step-sons and spouses, Jesse and Jenny Christopher of Texas, Earl Jr. and Brenda Christopher of Center Point, Arkansas, Mike and Kim Christopher of Center Point and Kelly Christopher of New Hope, Arkansas, Robert and Barbara Chambliss of Texas, Billy Joe and Linda Christopher of Prescott, Arkansas; three step-daughters and spouses, Anita and Terry Mitchell of Dierks, Arkansas, Charlsie and Tommy Packwood of Texas, Orabell Sullivan of Oklahoma. As well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Willis of Smithville, Oklahoma and Cloyce Willis of Broken Bow, Oklahoma and a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Mrs. Christopher will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Bissell Chapel Cemetery with Brother Daniel Kesterson officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

Visitation for Mrs. Christopher will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 19, 2021, at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in Dierks.

The family requests that everyone wear a face mask and practice social distancing for safety.
