Jeanette Maxine Morris Tallant
Jeanette Maxine Morris Tallant, age 68, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Monday, December 14, 2020 in Hot Springs, AR.
She was born August 25, 1952 in Nashville, Arkansas. She worked at Horatio State Bank, was a Home Interior distributor for 20 years, and worked for Baldwin Piano Company. She was a member of Old Center Holiness Church for many years.
Mrs. Tallant was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Sibyl Wakley Morris, one brother, James Morris and one sister, Linda Davis.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Garland Tallant; three brothers and three sisters, Wesley (Hank) and Jodie Morris, Helen and Richard Todd of Little Rock, AR, Gayla and Donnie Williamson of Wilmer, Alabama, Warren and Robin Morris of Soldotna, AK, Judy Morris Seals of Lincoln, AR, Butch and Olena Morris of Umpire, AR, and one sister-in-law, Sheila Morris of De Queen, AR, one brother-in-law, J.R. Davis of Umpire, AR, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral service for Mrs. Tallant will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 18, 2020 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wes Wakley and Rev. Donnie Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Umpire, AR, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at the funeral home.

Dr. William “Doc” Strube
Dr. William Joseph “Doc” Strube was born July 5, 1932 in Garvin, Oklahoma to William I. and Gussie P. (Simmons) Strube. Doc passed from this life on Monday, November 23, 2020 at his home.
He grew up in Garvin and later Idabel, Oklahoma. He was a 1951 graduate of Idabel High School and on December 20, 1952, he married the love of his life, Sue Doerner, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Doc graduated from Fresno State in California in 1957. He then went to Oklahoma State University and graduated in 1961 with a Doctorate Degree in Veterinarian Medicine. He practiced Veterinarian Medicine in Diagonal, Iowa, and then practiced in Albany, Missouri. In 1970, he moved his family to De Queen, Arkansas, where he was the head USDA Chicken Inspector at Mountaire and later, Pilgrim’s Pride, where he retired in 2001. Doc was a member of Kern Heights Baptist Church and enjoyed woodworking, reading and fishing, but most of all, he cherished the time spent with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Clarence Sr., Ruben, Erlin and Ferris Strube, Mable Lada and Doris Bowling; two sons, John Strube and infant Joseph Strube; as well as, one son-in-law, Danny Carlstead.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Sue (Doerner) Strube of De Queen; one son, Mark Strube of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two daughters, Cathy Hall and Michele Carlstead, both of De Queen; four grandchildren, Alisha Reid of Hot Springs, Courtney Reid of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Timothy and Malloree Carlstead of De Queen; one great-granddaughter, Robin Ahrens of Texarkana; as well as, a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside Services for Dr. William “Doc” Strube will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Chapel Hill Cemetery, De Queen, with Bros. Delbert Stone and Bobby Fischer officiating. Burial will follow, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, at the funeral home.
Due to current health concerns, Mrs. Sue Strube will not be in attendance at visitation. The public is welcome to attend services, but are ask to wear a face mask or covering.
Mr. Raymond Vallee
Mr. Raymond Ernest Vallee, age 73, resident of Cove, Arkansas, passed from this life on Sunday, November 22, 2020, at the Veteran’s Medical Center, Little Rock, Arkansas.
He was the youngest of eight children born to Robert Joseph and Alice Lavider Vallee on August 16, 1947 in Southbridge, Massachusetts. Raymond faithfully served his country with the United States Army, being deployed to Vietnam in 1968. After his stateside return, Raymond continued to serve with the National Guard Reserves until his retirement in the early 2000s. Raymond worked as a truck driver, working 10 years for Tyson Foods in Nashville. He also worked for Tyson Foods in Stillwell, Oklahoma, and previously cared for the Little River Country Club and Millwood State Park. He was a member of Cove First Baptist Church, where he helped with children’s ministry and served as security. He was also a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. It is said that Raymond was the “Jack of all trades.” He enjoyed spending time at the Coffee Vault and visiting the nursing home, as well as, woodworking, riding backroads, fishing and camping. Most of all, he cherished the time spent with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kathy Sue Walker Vallee; two grandchildren, Asher and Annabelle Vallee; three brothers, Albert, Leo and Authur Vallee; and one sisters, Pearl Vallee.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Barbara Vallee of Cove; five sons, Russell Vallee of California, Timothy Quinton Stubbs, Jr., and wife Patricia of Lockesburg, Justin Ottie Stubbs of Malvern, Christopher Bryan Stubbs and wife Elizabeth of Cove, and Raymond Paul Vallee of Cove; one daughter, Jada LaPointe and husband Eric of Greenfield, Massachusetts; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Yankee Vallee and wife Ruby of De Queen, and Richard Vallee and wife Carol of Sturbridge, Massachusetts; one sister, Teresa Summer of Washington; a special sister-in-law, Brenda Lewis of Lockeburg; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Graveside Services for Mr. Raymond Vallee will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Wofford’s Chapel Cemetery, De Queen, with Bro. Ron Ladd officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Lorrie Ann Bends
Mrs. Lorrie Ann Bends, age 57, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Saturday, November 21, 2020 in Texarkana, Texas.
She was born June 4, 1963 in Westminster, California. She was a homemaker and loved the water, camping, football and her family.
Mrs. Bends was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Densmore Bends.
She is survived by her mother, Carol Sue Bends of Golden Valley, AZ; her husband, Michael Dillon, Sr. of De Queen; two daughters, Jaylene Sue Allred of Belton, MO and Katie Dillon of Meridian, MS; four sons, Ronnie Heathman of Modesto, CA, Michael Dillon, Jr. of Springvalley, CA, Kevin Dillon of Geneva, IA and Bill Dillon of Modesto, CA; one brother, David Bends of Ontario, OR and 10 grandchildren.

Sammy Don Phillips
Sammy Don Phillips, age 65, a resident of Winnsboro, Texas died Wednesday, November 18, 2020 in Tyler, Texas.
He was born March 31, 1955, in Brownfield, Texas. He was a police officer for 28 years serving the Arlington Police Department in Arlington, Texas from 1984 to 2012. He was a member of the Church of Christ, Arlington Police Association and C.L.E.A.T. He was a man of his word, he never broke it and believed in “ My word is my bond,” and “A hand shake was a seal of a done deal.” He knew the true meaning of family and friendship; he was an honest, faithful, loving husband, father and brother.
Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by his parents, S.T. and Nona Mae McRae Phillips.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline McCarthy Phillips; one brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Marlyn Phillips of De Queen, Arkansas; two daughters and sons-in-law Amy and Micah Miller of Fate, Texas; Sarah and Stephen Weiss of Canton, Georgia; two sons and daughters-in-law, Matthew and Kristina Phillips of Arlington, Texas and Glenn and Courtney Elliott of Haslet, Texas; and one niece, Tina Phillips of Searcy, AR and one nephew, S.T. Phillips of Pascagoula, MS; seven grandchildren, two great nephews and other family members and friends.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Phillips will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at Chapel Hill Cemetery with James McRae officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to the Arlington Police Foundation, Arlingtonpolicefoundation.org or to the Disabled American Veterans, Dav.org.

Freda Jo Adair
Mrs. Freda Jo Parks Adair, age 90, resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, passed from this life on Thursday, November 19, 2020 in El Dorado, Arkansas.
She was born to Benjamin Harrison and Georgia Blanch Blakemore Parks on February 24, 1930 in Mineral, Arkansas. Freda was a 1947 graduate of Gillham High School and worked for many years as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She married the love of her life, Althon Heuel Adair, Sr., on March 9, 1949 in De Queen. Freda enjoyed reading and writing poetry, having some of her work published. She was a member of First Baptist Church in De Queen and enjoyed her time at church, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school, yardwork, sewing and traveling, but most of all, she cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Althon Adair, Sr.; one daughter, Alana Faye Whisenhunt; two grandchildren, Gabriel Keith Adair and Carey Lee Elrod; one brother, D.V. Parks; and three sisters, Nita Faye Whisenhunt, Tula Mae Higgins and Pauline “Nep” Argenbright.
Freda leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Althon Heuel Adair, Jr. of El Dorado, Arkansas; two daughters, Pamela Kay Elrod and husband Richard of Hallsville, Texas, and Lisa Ann Wray of Lockesburg; eight grandchildren, Cassie, Clint, Kristy, Miranda, Bryan, Amy, Brittney and Corey; a number of great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Delter Parks of Wickes; one sister, Murl Higgins of Gillham; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Jess Mike Parson
Jess Mike Parson, age 77, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas died Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at his home.
He was born July 30, 1943, in Honey Grove, Texas. He was retired from Weyerhaeuser and was a member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Lockesburg. He enjoyed gardening, rodeo’s, trips to Texas, and “making his rounds” to see family.
Mr. Parson was preceded in death by his parents Jess Willard and Gracie Bell Forehand Parson; his wife Patricia Jester Parson; two sons, Michael Wayne Parson and Craig Bishop Parson; two brothers, J.W. Parson and Larry Parson and one sister, Brenda Webb.
He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law; Gerald and Jessica Parson of Pleasant Hill, Oklahoma, Curtis and Chyan Parson of Foreman, AR and Ricky and Heather Parson of Ashdown, AR; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucy and Buddy Heath of Foreman, AR, and Jo and Phillip Hobbs of De Queen; twelve grandchildren, Maegan Cox, Antony Tollett, Morgan Stark, Dylan Hunnicutt, Jessa Bean, David Parson, Hadley Parson, Cale Parson, Morgan Parson, Coby Parson, Madison Mills and Aly Mills; fourteen great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Parson will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 21, 2020, at County Line Cemetery in Nashville, Arkansas under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
General viewing for Mr. Parson will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 20, 2020 at the Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
