Ida Mae Burnett Cox
Ida Mae Burnett Cox, age 91, a resident of Gentry, Arkansas died Tuesday, May 5, 2020, at her home.
She was born April 14, 1929, in Boley, Oklahoma. She was a retired teachers aid from the Locksburg School System after 18 years and a member of Falling Springs Church in Decatur, Arkansas. She enjoyed watching the birds, working puzzles, and reading her Bible.
Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her parents, John Wesley and Lena Leoti Humpreys Burnett; her husband, Cleatis Cox; four brothers; and one great grandson.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Leoti Cox and Cathy and Scott Cox all of Gentry; five granddaughters, Krystin Cox, Caitlin Cox, Brittany Koehler, Amanda Hittson, and Caley Evans; 12 great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Cox will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 9, 2020, at McHorse Cemetery with Larry Fry officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen, Arkansas.
John Lee Churchwell
Mr. John Lee Churchwell, age 67, resident of Eagletown, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at his home, with his family by his side.
John was born to John William and Mattie Lee Brewer Churchwell on February 14, 1953 in Abilene, Texas. John faithfully served his country with the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He married the love of his life, Lucretia Jean Dixon, on August 23, 1978 in Eagletown. John worked as a Diesel Mechanic for Jimmy Tucker and was a former member of Almond Church. He enjoyed wood working, riding motorcycles and fishing, but most of all, he cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin daughters and a sister.
John leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of over 41 years, Lucretia Churchwell of Eagletown; four sons, Michael Churchwell, Jessy Churchwell and wife Johna of Daisy, Scott Anthony Churchwell and wife Allison of Maud, Texas, and Shawn Lee Churchwell and wife Ashley of Eagletown; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, David William Churchwell and wife Suzanne of Eagletown; two sisters, Joan Williamson of De Queen and Rhonda Smith and husband Justin of Texarkana; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
The family of Mr. John Churchwell will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, May 8, 2020 at the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation to follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Due to current health concerns, the use of a mask and gloves is recommended during the time of visitation. Please refrain from hugging or touching one another and keep a comfortable distance of six (6) foot from one another while in the funeral home. Hand Sanitizer will be available.
Mr. Jason Candelaria
Mr. Jason Daniel Candelaria, age 47, resident of De Queen, passed from this life on Monday, April 27, 2020 at his home.
He was born on July 29, 1972 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and worked as a Sales Clerk at the EZ Mart in De Queen. He enjoyed playing Pool and was a member of a playing club in New Mexico. Jason also cherished the time spent with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by one son, Lukus Shane Candelaria and his maternal grandmother, Pearlie Mae Hern.
Jason leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Linda Sue Candelaria of De Queen; his maternal grandfather, Calvin Hern of De Queen; one uncle, Billy Ray Hern and his wife Janie Sue Hern of New Mexico; cousins, Renee Michelle Hern-Lovato, her daughter Courtney Mae Hern-Payne and husband Logan Payne, Richard Michael Hern and his wife Jessica A. Kaiser-Hern and their children: Hugo and Vera Hern, Amy Louise Hern-Law and her husband Tony Law and their children: Emily and Maisie Law, all of New Mexico; as well as, other aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
Graveside Memorial Services for Mr. Jason Candelaria will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Redmen Cemetery with Pastor Bobby Fischer officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Clifford Wayne Day
Mr. Clifford Wayne Day, age 62, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Monday, May 4, 2020, in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
He was born October 22, 1957, in De Queen. He worked in construction and was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Day; his grandparents, Clifford and Polly Day and Bob and Rosa Hunter; one sister, Donna Day; and one nephew, Andrew Day.
He is survived by one daughter, Amy Day Heckermann of Chicago, Illinois; his mother, Bobbie Hunter Day; two brothers, Tracy Day and Robert Michael Day all of De Queen; four grandchildren; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Day will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 9, 2020, at Ben Lomond Cemetery with Larry Fry officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
General viewing will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2020, at the funeral home.
Dustin Dale Cano
Dustin Dale Cano, age 29, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas died Saturday, May 2 2020, in Nashville, Arkansas.
He was born June 28, 1990 in Clinton, Oklahoma. He worked for Texarkana Fence and Security, loved fishing, watching football and country music.
Dustin was preceded in death by his mother Florence Dela Rosa; his grandmother, Julie Brown; and his great-grandmother, Florence Rangel.
He is survived by two sons, Dustin Ray Cano and Parker Munn, and Austin; two daughters, Rylee Cano and Braylee Cano; two sisters, Desiree Dela Rosa and Lacey Dela Rosa; one aunt and uncle, Linda and Omar Montoya; two nieces and two nephews.
General viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at the Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen. Cremation will follow.
Raymond Morris
Mr. Raymond Chester Morris, age 83, resident of the Chapel Hill Community of Sevier County, passed from this life on Friday, May 1, 2020 at his home, surrounded by family.
Raymond was one of three children born to Chester Carl and Nettie Mae Ruth Morris on November 10, 1936 in Gillham, Arkansas. He married the love of his life, Wilma Dean Shepherd, on December 17, 1955 in De Queen, and to this union, two sons and three daughters were born. Raymond worked as a mechanic for Weyerhaeuser Company and later D&E TO&E Railroad, retiring in 1991 after almost 30 years of service. Raymond was a faithful member of the De Queen Church of Christ and was very active with the Arkansas Cattleman’s Association, Sevier County Cattleman’s Association, former member of Sevier County Sheriff’s Riding Posse, as well as, enjoyed the time spent leading the children of the Sevier County 4-H. Most of all, he cherished the time spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Raymond never met a stranger and would sit and visit at every chance. During his time with the Cattleman’s Association, Raymond sold over 500 new memberships and received several “Top Hand” awards along with numerous other awards.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Jeremy Frachiseur; one daughter-in-law, Paula Morris; his brother, Jim Morris and his sister, Margie Fisk.
Raymond leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of over 64 years, Wilma Morris of De Queen; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Randy Frachiseur of De Queen, Brenda and William Hill of Ashdown and Debbie Seymour of De Queen; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Ginger Morris of Horatio and Ronald and Kim Morris of De Queen; eleven grandchildren, Kevin and wife Amanda, Brandon, Natasha, Autumn, Gracie, Aaron, Amber, Miranda and husband Kody, Brennen, Aubrey and Jake; a granddaughter-in-law, Katrina Frachiseur; sixteen great-grandchildren; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Graveside Services for Mr. Raymond Morris will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Chapel Hill Cemetery with Toney Stowers and Bobby Tatum, Ministers, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Visitation will be general until 6:00 P.M., Friday, May 1, 2020, and from 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., Saturday, at the funeral home.
William Michael “Mike” Carter
Mr. William Michael “Mike” Carter, age 66, a resident of Burg, Arkansas died Monday, April 27, 2020, in Hot Springs.
He was born February 5, 1954, to Jim and Edna Lafay Greene Carter. He was a mechanic, retired from Weyerhaeuser, and a member of the Athens Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Pamela Diane Simmons Carter; and two brothers, Randy Bolt and Richard Bolt.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Cory and Sara Carter of Burg, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Haley Carter and Baylee Carter; two sisters, Laverne Addington of De Queen, Arkansas and Lavada Munoz of Massachusetts; two special cousins, Mike Logan and Sonny Simmons; one special aunt, Pat Logan of Mena, Arkansas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Carter will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 29, 2020, at Burg Cemetery with Terry Martin and Mike Moore officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.
