Annie Bell Rogers

Miss Annie Bell Rogers, age 93, a resident of Foreman, Arkansas, died Friday, November 19, 2010 in the Christus St. Michaels Hospital in Texarkana, Texas.

She was born December 18, 1916 in Little River County, Arkansas. She worked in sales for a retail department store. Miss Rogers enjoyed music, flower gardening and history and had a special love for all animals, especially her German Shepherds, Jazz and Shadow. She was a member of the Miller Community Church.

Miss Rogers was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac Baxter and Ritchie Eliza Sampson Rogers; sisters and brothers, Dora Rogers McClinton, Ellen Rogers Crawford, Fannie Rogers, Emma Rogers Boyer, Clyde Rogers, Claude Rogers, Valentine Rogers Lisenby, Boone Rogers and Paul Rogers.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services for Miss. Rogers will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 22, 2010 in the Strawn cemetery with Leon Klitz officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Regina Clements McKinney

Regina Clements McKinney of Hot Springs went home to Heaven, Tuesday, November 16, 2010.

She was born June 2, 1952 in Conroe, TX. She had a degree from Henderson State University in accounting. However, her biggest accomplishments in her life were her faith and love of Jesus Christ, and loving her children and grandchildren. Regina leaves behind a legacy of love, faith and memories to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Enon Clements.

She is survived by her mother, Margaret Johnson Clements of Hot Springs; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Sandra and Jim Hardage of Bismarck, Brenda and Gary Magee of Malvern and Marcia Clements of Hot Springs; one daughter, Heather McKinney of Conway, AR, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Andy McKinney of Hot Springs, and Paul and Kasey McKinney, also of Hot Springs; her grandchildren, Brian, Megan, Michael, and Ryan McKinney, all of Hot Springs; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Graveside memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 19, 2010 in the Avon cemetery in De Queen.

Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or The Caring Place, 101 Quapaw Avenue, Hot Springs, AR

Claryce Geneva Burney Wall

Mrs. Claryce Geneva Burney Wall, age 77, a resident of Cerro Gordo, OK died Saturday, October 30, 2010 in Texarkana, TX.

She was born February 18, 1933 in Cerro Gordo. She was a school teacher, a member of the DAR, Delta Kappa Gamma, the Retired Teachers Assn’s in both Oklahoma and Arkansas, and attended State Line Baptist Church in Cerro Gordo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Clem Wall in 1994; her parents, Otho Lee and Ida Mae Wineinger Burney; and a brother, Paul Burney.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Craig and Gayla Wall of Idabel, OK and Chris and Renee Wall of Bentonville, AR; one daughter and son-in-law, Chana and Scott Brown of Coalgate, OK; her grandchildren, Brian Wall, Brandon Wall, Gillian Wall, Tyler Brown, Trevor Brown and Denim Brown; her in-laws, Layvonne Burney, Margaret Wall and Marvin and Frances Wall; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wall will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2010 in the State Line Baptist Church in Cerro Gordo with Virgil Romine, minister officiating. Burial will follow in the Cerro Gordo cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home, De Queen.

William Loyd Williamson

William Loyd Williamson, 92, of Dierks, died Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at the Dierks Nursing and Rehab Center.

He was born January 10, 1919 in Dierks the son of the late Levi and Fannie Daniel Williamson. He was a former elder, bible class teacher and song leader at the Church of Christ in Dierks where he was a member since he was a teenager. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved deer hunting with his son and grandsons.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1941 to 1945. He was in the invasion of North Africa and the invasion of Naples, Italy. He was a saw filer for Weyerhaeuser Co. and retired in 1981 after 43 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Deane Payne Williamson of 69 years, his son, William Michael Williamson; two sisters, Ruth Sharp and husband Joe, and Ada Williamson.

He is survived by two grandsons, Matthew Williamson of Dierks and Mark Williamson of Texarkana, Texas; one brother, Floyd Williamson and wife Dean of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; two sisters, Faye Stark of Murfreesboro and LaVaughn White and husband, James of Dierks and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be graveside at the Center Point cemetery, Friday, November 5, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with James McRae and Kelly Brown officiating. Services will be under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 4th from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at the funeral home in Dierks.

Erma Louise Marshall

Mrs. Erma Louise Marshall, age 67, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Friday, November 05, 2010 at her home.

She was born January 21, 1943 in Gering, Nebraska. She enjoyed birds, crafts, working with flowers, her dogs and horseback riding. She was a cosmetologist and a caretaker for the elderly.

Mrs. Marshall was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mable (James) Morice; her husband, Lou Marshall; one brother, Charles Todd and a sister, Stella White.

She is survived by three daughters, Debbie Villanueva and Darlin Thompson both of Henderson, Texas and Leaha Flores of De Queen; two sons, Steven Gene Bruce of De Queen and Michael Bruce, Jr. of Longview, Texas; one sister, Edna Mae of Sarasota, Florida; six grandchildren, Richard, Melissa, Everett, Adam, Reyes and Joy; seven great-grandchildren, Lance and Morgan, Tyler, Hayden, Adam, Kenzie and Tristan; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Mrs. Marshall will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 9, 2010 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen.

Marvin William Helms

Mr. Marvin William Helms, age 90, a resident of Provo, AR died Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at his home.

He was born February 2, 1920 in Harmon, Louisiana. He was a retired logger and rancher, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Provo Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Helms was preceded in death by his parents, Jim W. and Lucy Harberson Helms; two children, Marvin Helms, Jr., and Sheryl Marene Eudy; a grandson, Shane Eudy and a brother, Arvin Helms.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Clarene Sherman Helms; six sons and four daughters-in-law, William "Sonny" Helms of Nashville, AR, Billy Jack and Vera Helms of Ashdown, AR, Mickey Helms of Provo, AR, Derrel and Jackie Helms of Lockesburg, AR, Terry and Debbie Helms of Harrison, AR and Kem and Anita Helms of Provo; two daughters, Betty Teat of Irving, TX and Linda Harper of Sheridan, AR; a sister, Billie Fant of Lockesburg; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mr. Helms will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 12, 2010 in the Provo Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Henry Williams and Rev. Jerrel Helms officiating. Burial will follow in the McHorse cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2010 at the funeral home in Dierks.

Nellie Townsend Strasner Lord

Nellie Townsend Strasner Lord was born on January 15, 1913 in the Liberty Hill area near Dierks, AR to Andrew Custer and Ada Sylvester (Vettie) Bedwell Townsend.

Nellie was the 6th of nine children. She grew up on the family farm and attended school at Liberty Hill. She was a member of the Methodist church.

At the age of twenty-one she married Hal Strasner of Umpire, AR. They made their home on Kirby Road where their daughter, Greselda Nell was born. The family moved to Dierks and lived there several years before relocating to Leavenworth, WA. She worked in the fruit orchards, warehouse, hospital and florist.

Hal Strasner was drowned while working at the Peshastin Lumber Co. in 1951, leaving Nell to raise twelve year old Greselda. She was an exceptional cook, homemaker and gardner.

In 1959, Nell married Lawrence Lord of Kittery, ME and made her home there with Larry, who died in 1977. She continued living alone until 1998 when she sold her home and moved to New Castle, NH to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Greselda and Fred Pitts. They summered in NH and wintered in AR. They made many trips throughout the United States, traveling in motor homes and a trailer for about ten years. They made trips to AR, FL, CA, WA and OR.

Nellie has resided at DHRC the last few years. She especially enjoyed the musical programs.

Mrs. Lord was preceded in death by her parents, Custer and Vettie Townsend, her first husband Hal and their infant son. Also, preceded by her second husband, Larry. She was also preceded by siblings and spouses, Lewis and Lou Townsend, Vita and Jim Gilbert, Andrew and Cecilia Townsend, John and Marie Townsend, Brooks and Clarine Townsend, Doug and Marie Townsend, Ora and Ning Mathis, Ervin Jessup. Also by nephews and nieces, Donley, Carroll, David, Diane and Darwin Townsend, Tommie Mathis, Dalton Gilbert and Billie Gilbert Keith. She was preceded by brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale and Myrtle Strasner, Winnie and Lewis Dalrymple, Pearl and John Moore, Jeff and Arabia Strasner, Trave and Bessie Strasner, Nora and Pete Bearden, Lora and Lon Chambers and Bill Krantz. Also by nieces and nephews, Betty Jo, Imogene, Cecil, Olin, George and Nona.

Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Greselda and Fred Pitts; grandchildren, Hal Pitts, Andrea Pitts, Tracey Cook, Todd and Diane Pitts; great grandchildren, Ryan, Heather, Erin, Andrew, Travis, Sarah and Christopher; great-great grandchildren, Trinity, Kaeden, Wyatt, Jaelon, Estelle and Aerith.

Other survivors are her youngest sister, Hope Jessup and nieces and nephews, Juanita, Jo, Clara, J.W., Merilynn, Charles, Marie, Jess and Tim.

She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Carrie Krantz and nieces and nephews, Estalene, Alta Faye, Eulis, Jessie, Joy, Doug, Wade, Gary, Mack, Charlotte, Judy, Helen, Diane, Brenda, Toots, Bill D, Verna, Burl, Bobbie and Janet.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Lord will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 16, 2010 in the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Umpire with Gordon Pendergrass officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Hill cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 -8:00 p.m., Monday, November 15th at the funeral home in Dierks.

Floyd Williamson

Floyd Williamson, age 90, died Friday, November 12, 2010. Mr. Williamson was born on June 1, 1920 to William Levi and Fannie Daniel Williamson.

Mr. Williamson was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Ruth Sharp and Ada Williamson; and a brother, Loyd Williamson.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Deane Anderson Williamson; one son, Wayne (Betty) Williamson; two sisters, Faye Stark and LaVaughn White; two grandchildren, Deana Driver and Mark Williamson; four great-grandchildren, Gabrielle and Michael Driver and Ellen and John Williamson..

Mr. Williamson was a member of the Church of Christ in Dierks, AR and Mt. Juliet, TN. and was an avid hunter.

Funeral Services for Mr. Williamson will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 16, 2010 in the Church of Christ in Dierks, AR with James McRae and Kelly Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Dierks cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 -8:00 p.m., Monday, November 15th at the Church of Christ in Dierks.
