Mrs. Barbara Bohannon
Mrs. Barbara Ann Pickett Bohannon, age 81, resident of Lockesburg, passed from this life on Sunday, February 9, 2020 in Dierks, Arkansas.
She was born to Willie L. and Connie Taylor Pickett on March 11, 1938 in Foreman, Arkansas. She was a 1956 graduate of Jefferson Davis High School in Houston, Texas. Following graduation, she married the love of her life, Harold Lloyd Bohannon, in May of 1956 in Houston, and to this union, two daughters were born. She spent many years keeping the home and later worked as a dog groomer, owning her own business until retirement. She was a member of the Old Corinth Church in Frog Level and enjoyed fishing. Barbara loved her family and spending time with them, but more than anything, she cherished and adored the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sibling; and a great-grandson, Cullen Varner.
She is survived by her husband of over 63 years, Harold Bohannon of Lockesburg; two daughters, Carol Ann Boykin and Karen Midgett and her husband Keith, all of Lockesburg. She was Granny Bar to her four grandchildren, Trina, Tracey, Trista and Matt, and her six great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Cameron, Carson, Emma, Shelby and Valerie. She is also survived by two brothers, Jerry Pickett and wife Judy of Lockesburg and Edward Pickett and wife Cheryl of Chriesman, Texas; two sisters, Judy Thompson of South Carolina and Vicki Lawrence and husband Donnie of Conroe, Texas; as well as, special nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Barbara Bohannon will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, February 14, 2020 at the Old Center Holiness Church with Chaplain Rufus Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at the Old Center Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.
Mr. Frank Pridmore, Jr.
Mr. Franklin Delanor Pridmore, Jr., age 57, of Lockesburg, died Friday, February 8, 2020 in Lockesburg.
No services will be scheduled. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Mrs. Bobbie Ruth
Mrs. Bobbie Jean Gentry Ruth, age 80, resident of De Queen, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 06, 2020, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Ruth was born to John and Maggie Reed Gentry on March 25, 1939, in De Queen. She married the love of her life, James Alfred Ruth, on June 16, 1955 in De Queen, and to the union, four children were born. She was a member of Rose Hill Gospel Mission and a Homemaker. She and her family owned and operated a poultry farm outside of De Queen. She enjoyed going to church and raising chickens, but most of all, she cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two great-granddaughters, Josie Ann and Jorie Lynn Burt; two brothers, Ern and Pete Gentry; and two sisters, Inez Shaw and Juanita Gentry.
She is survived by her husband of over 64 years, James Ruth of De Queen; three daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Billy Don Weeks, Sr. of De Queen, Barbara and Gene Liles of Hatfield and Evelyn and Russell Yandell of De Queen; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Joan Ruth of De Queen; 16 grandchildren, Billy Don, Jr., Wynona, Jonathan, Wynita, Lajeana, Danillia, Brandon, Aaron, Amanda, James “J Bo”, Sherra, Sandra, Shuvanah, Travis and Carrie; 34 great-grandchildren; as well as, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Bobbie Ruth will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, February 9, 2020 at the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bros. Billy Don Weeks, Sr., Billy Don Weeks, Jr., and Brandon Burt officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Saturday, at the funeral home.
Mr. Ernie Paul Walker
Mr. Ernie Paul Walker, affectionately known as “Flash” or “Ditch-Digger,” was born to Ottie and Betty Martin Walker on November 29, 1952 in Prineville, Oregon and left this World on February 2, 2020, at the age of 67.
He was a long-distance truck driver for many years and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Keith Walker; two sisters, Arline Icenhower and Kathy Vallee; and one granddaughter, Kyarah Puckett.
He is survived by his wife, Wendy Walker; two sons, Joshua Walker and Christopher Puckett and daughter-in-law, Teresa; four grandchildren, Selena Hanson, Sarah Puckett, Kyarra Puckett and Christopher James Puckett, Jr.; one sister, Brenda Durham Lewis; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Graveside services for Mr. Ernie Walker will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the Mt. Joy Cemetery, Daisy, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, at the funeral home.
Darwin Kenneth Bagnall
Darwin Kenneth Bagnall, age 81, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Friday, January 31, 2020, in Nashville, Arkansas.
He was born April 6, 1938 in Conneaut, Ohio. Mr. Bagnall was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he was retired from the plastic industry, was a proprietor of Pine Bowl Bowling Center and Big D’s Pizza of De Queen, Arkansas. He was most devoted to The League Bowlers.
Mr. Bagnall was preceded in death by his parents, Mont S. Bagnall, Jr. and Esther L. Sheifelbein; one sister, Doris Bagnall; his uncle, Kenneth Bagnall and grandson, David Robert Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, ConnieJo Smith Bagnall; one daughter and son-in-law, JerriLee and Gary Owen; one son and daughter-in-law, David and April Smith; his mother-in-law, Jo Nell Blakeley; his brother-in-law and wife, Roger and Sharen Smith; one sister, Donna Craigo; one grandson, Gunnar Smith; one granddaughter, Destiny Smith; two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Alyse; and a number of nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements by Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen, Arkansas.
Clint Cook
Mr. James Clint Cook, age 49, resident of De Queen, passed from this life on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at his home.
He was born on June 24, 1970 in Hot Springs and was a 1988 graduate of Kirby High School. He married the love of his life, Renee Lea Boler, in De Queen, and to this union, two children were born. Clint worked at Applied Industrial Technologies for 26 years, serving as General Manager. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing poker, watching TV, sharing his political views and he loved racing, but most of all, he cherished the time spent with his family and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carroll and Jessie Cook, Glen and Helen Simmons and Bill Davis; as well as, his father-in-law, Jesse Boler.
He is survived by his loving wife, Renee Cook of De Queen; one son, Shelby Cook of De Queen; one daughter, Sydney Cook and her fiancé Steven Foster of Fouke; three grandchildren, Lilly, Steven and Robert Foster, all of Hot Springs; his parents, Marsha and Kent Morphew of De Queen; his mother-in-law, Linda Boler of De Queen; as well as, aunts, uncles, cousins and all past and present co-workers of Applied Industrial.
Graveside services for Mr. Clint Cook will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, February 6, 2020 at the Valley Cemetery, Gillham, with Layton Neal officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Trey Wommack, Jeremy Jester, Chuck Mitchell, Darrell Pickett, Allen Wright and Seth Vanhorn.
Betty Ruth Harp Candelaria
Betty Ruth Harp Candelaria, age 90, of Horatio, Arkansas died Friday, January 31, 2020, in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
She was born August 4, 1929, in Hollis, Oklahoma. Mrs. Candelaria was retired from the Campbell Soup Company. She was a member of the Horatio Methodist Church and loved gardening, canning, and playing dominoes. Mrs. Candelaria was a former member of the Rebecca’s in Humble, Texas.
Mrs. Candelaria was preceded in death by her parents, Lacey Leo and Bessie Mae Hall Harp; the father of her children, O.D. “ Opey” Thomas; one son, Walter James Thomas; one daughter, Marsha Lynn Gladden; three sisters, Rachel Paralee Posey, Fern McGowen, and Blanch Odell Tullos; and three brothers, Leo Harp, Z.M. Harp, and John Harp.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Dean (Patricia) Thomas of Horatio and Ira Lee (Jessica) of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and special friend, Nina McCoy, her adopted sister, of Horatio.
