Frances Carol Bailey
Frances Carol Bailey, age 76, of Horatio, Arkansas died Thursday, January 30, 2020, in Texarkana, Texas.
She was born on September 19, 1943, in De Queen, Arkansas. Mrs. Bailey was a Baptist and a homemaker. She enjoyed fishing, coloring, and being with family, especially her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her parents, Ed Rightmire and Doris Wilburn Dalton; her husband, Junior Bailey; and two brothers, Jackie and Bobby Rightmire.
She is survived by five sons, Lonnie Bailey of Horatio, Johnny (Bessie) Bailey of Horatio, Danny (Emmy) Bailey of Lockesburg, Arkansas, Billy Bailey of Horatio, and Steven (Erica) Bailey also of Horatio; two brothers, Kenneth Rightmire of Oregon and Joe Edward Righmire; one sister, Barbara Rightmire of Horatio; and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements by Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Pauline McRae
Pauline McRae, age 93, of Ft. Smith, Arkansas died Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Pink Bud Nursing Facility in Greenwood, Arkansas.
She was born on January 25, 1927, in Horatio, Arkansas to George and Mamie (Wilson) Reynolds. She was a homemaker and a member of the De Queen Church of Christ for over 70 years.
Mrs. McRae was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Walter on January 10, 2001; one daughter, Carol Myers; one son, Dwayne McRae and a sister, Laura Varner.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Diana G. and Jerry Wilkins of Booneville, Arkansas and Connie and Charles Walters of Ft. Smith; seven grandchildren, Tracy Kidder, Shane Myers, Michael Wilkins, Tera Hicks, Sarah Stewart, Shannon Walters and April Davis; seven great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. McRae will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 1, 2020, at the De Queen Church of Christ with Toney Stowers officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until service time, Saturday, February 1st at the church.
Natividad Zamora Mayo
Mrs. Natividad Zamora Mayo, age 61, resident of De Queen, passed from this life on Sunday, January 26, 2020 in a Texarkana, Texas hospital.
She was born to David Zamora and Flaviana Mayo on September 8, 1958 in Guerrero, Mexico. She married the love of her life, Mario Gutierrez Navarrete, on August 22, 1976 in Mexico. She was a homemaker and member of St. Barbara Catholic Church in De Queen. She enjoyed shopping, listening to music, cooking, gardening, traveling and taking pictures, but most of all, she cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son-in-law, Mario Cisneros.
She is survived by her husband of over 43 years, Mario Gutierrez Navarrete of De Queen; three sons, David Ramos and his wife Blanca Estela Flores of Mexico, Mario Gutierrez and his wife Ana D. Gutierrez of Horatio and Fidel Gutierrez and his wife Maria E. Tapia of De Queen; three daughters, Neybi Cisneros of De Queen, Natividad Olvera and her husband Roberto of Horatio, Yessenia Velasquez and her husband Eduardo of Pine Bluff; 17 grandchildren; one sister, Honoria Gatica of Mexico; one brother, Sebastian Aparicio of Mexico; two nephews, Misael Suarez and Felix Guzma Gatica, both of Atlanta, Georgia; two nieces, Rosario Guzman, also of Atlanta, and Georgina Guzma of Mexico; as well as, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral Mass for Mrs. Natividad Zamora Mayo will be held at Noon, Thursday, January 30, 2020 in the St. Barbara Catholic Church with Father Ramses Mendieta officiating. Burial will follow in Redmen Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Public viewing and Rosary will be from 5:00 P.M., Wednesday, until service time Thursday, at the church.
James Pond
Mr. James D. Pond, age 41, resident of Horatio, passed from this life on Sunday, January 26, 2020 in Horatio.
He was born to Earl Leroy and Patsy Ann Martin Pond on August 28, 1978 in Murfreesboro, Arkansas. He was a Shade-tree Mechanic and enjoyed building small toys, spending time outdoors and leaving his mark wherever he could, but most of all, he cherished the time spent with his daughters and family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Pond; one brother, Jason Pond; maternal grandparents, Virgil and Marie Martin; and his paternal grandparents, James Walter and Laverne Pond.
He is survived by three daughters, Summer Pond, Winter Pond and Autumn Fullerton, all of Horatio, and their mother, Chavon Pond, also of Horatio; his mother, Patsy Cockrum of Horatio; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Cynthia Gregory and Melissa and Jake Atwood, all of Horatio; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Graveside services for Mr. James Pond will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 31, 2020 at the Harmony Cemetery, New Hope, Arkansas, with Bro. Travis Young officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Joe Helms
Joe Helms passed away peacefully at his home on January 25, 2020.
Joe was born May 9th,1960, in Sevier County Arkansas to Bobby and Hazel Helms. He was raised in Gillham, Arkansas and graduated from Wickes High School in 1978. He was currently residing in Lockesburg, Arkansas.
Joe is survived by his dad, Bobby Helms; his wife, Janice Helms; five children and (spouses), Alicia Ramage (Rick), Jared Helms (Nicole), Leslie Gentry, Emily Hickson, Jeremy Hickson (Desiree); nine grandkids, Braden and Lilly Gentry, Gracie and Tye Ramage, Isaac, Kaden, and Marianna Helms, and Coraline and Madeline Hickson. Joe is also survived by his sister Jan Gilbert (Don); and brothers, Robert and Don Helms; and multiple nieces and nephews. He also is survived by his two Labrador fur babies, Pepper and Sage. He was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Helms and sister, Sharon Helms.
Joe was a farmer for over 30 years before stepping into the insurance and sales businesses. He and his wife were members of Mineral Springs Church of Christ. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a devoted husband who enjoyed traveling with his wife on adventures such as Tuna fishing off the coast of Washington to hitching a ride with Pirates in the blue waters of the Bahamas. He was a beloved Dad and Joe Pops who taught the grandkids the definition of white knuckles while riding in the Jet foot up Little River, encouraged them to face their fears while jumping off Cat Rock or lighting a bomb in the homemade potato launcher and catching the hot potato. He also enjoyed passing on sketchy hunting skills and his love of guns and tactical applications. Joe believed no garden was worth having unless it was large enough to share the fruits of your labor with your neighbor and margaritas are always a good idea. He was famous for his fried fish, steaks over an open flame, and his crawfish boils your belly would remember for days. Joe was a friend to all he met and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all he knew.
Funeral services for Joe will be held at 2:00 p.m., January 28, 2020, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Benjamin Neeley officiating. Burial will follow in Coulter Cemetery in Lockesburg.
The family will recieve friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday the 27th at the funeral home.

Dionicio Lopez
Mr. Dionicio Lopez Alcocer, age 60, resident of De Queen, passed from this life on Friday, January 24, 2020 at the CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs.
He was born to Isauro Lopez and Delfina Alcocer on December 26, 1959 in Mexico. He worked on the family’s ranch in Mexico and later worked for Pilgrim’s Pride in De Queen having 40 years service. He married Jakeline Espinoza Gutierrez, whom he loved dearly, on November 27, 2017 in De Queen. He was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church in De Queen and enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors, but most of all, he cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father; three brothers, Balberto, Estaban and Juan Lopez; sisters, Victoria Lopez and two infant sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Jakeline Espinoza Gutierrez of De Queen; one son, Richard Lopez of De Queen; one daughter, Norma Lopez Rodriguez of Mexico; nine grandchildren; his mother, Delfina Vidal Lopez Alcocer of De Queen; three brothers and spouses, Francisco and Senoria Lopez, Vincente Lopez and Eladio and Lisa Lopez; four sisters, Baulbina, Eusebia, Alberta and Ambrosia Lopez; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral Mass for Mr. Dionicio Lopez will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at the St. Barbara Catholic Church, De Queen, with Father Ramses Mendieta officiating. Burial will follow in the Redmen Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Public viewing and Rosary will be from Noon, Tuesday, January 28th, until service time Wednesday, at the church.
Barbara Ann Proffer
Barbara Ann Proffer, age 75, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas went to be in her Saviors arms on Tuesday, January 21, 2020.
She was born August 5, 1944, in De Queen to David and Clarice Rumph. Mrs. Proffer was a devoted Christian and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She enjoyed helping others and listening to her Christian music. She had a beautiful talent for writing poems. She cherished spending time with her daughter, all of her grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Proffer was preceded in death by her parents, David “Doc” Rumph and Clarice Mae Lacy; her sister, Patricia Enovoldson; her special cousin, Lavonne Wolcott.
She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory two daughters, Lucretia Hodge and Michelle Georgina; two sons, Nathan Lyle and Marvin Daniel; two grandchildren, LaShelle Story and Shelby Story; four great grandchildren, Briana, Jaylon, Adriana and Eddie; two sisters, Peggy Honea of De Queen, Arkansas and Joyce Nolen of Austin, Texas and a number of nieces and nephews.
