John Thomas May
John Thomas May, age 73, resident of De Queen, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002 in Nashville.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1 in Redmen cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.
He was born June 17, 1929 in Paris, Tex.; was retired from Red River Army Depot; and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by one son, James May of Horatio; and two grandchildren.

Earl Wayne Hooker Sr.
Earl Wayne Hooker Sr., age 66, resident of Mena, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002 in Mena Medical Center.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30 in Pleasant Grove cemetery in Cove with Bro. Charley D. Wiles officiating, under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena.
He was born July 28, 1936 in Nashville to the late Lonnie and Lois Collins Hooker; was a graduate of De Queen High School; owner and operator of H.C. Walker Construction; Arkansas state director of Arkansas Good Sams Club; a life member of Good Sams Club; a member of the Lions Clubs in Mena and De Queen; served on the board of directors of Tri Lakes Water Association, Special Olympics, and Special Olympics Torch Run; and was a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Hooker of Mena; one son, Wayne Hooker of Mena; two daughters, Teri Blair of Springdale and Charla Hollin of Mena; one brother, Rodger Hooker of West Helena; and six grandchildren.
Curtis Eugene Osborn
Curtis Eugene Osborn, age 82, resident of Lockesburg, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2002 in De Queen Regional Medical Center.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27 in McHorse cemetery with Rev. Harold Brewer officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.
He was born on Sunday, Jan. 4, 1920 in Smithville, Okla., to William and Rosie Osborn; and was a timber cutter.
He is survived by his wife, Icie Ransom Osborn of Lockesburg; one sister, Lois Threatt of Oregon; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Russell Hall
Mr. Russell Wayne Hall, age 32, resident of De Queen, died Saturday, November 23, 2002 east of the Allmon community of Sevier County, Arkansas.
He was born to Randy and Linda Friend Hall at De Queen, Arkansas, on February 10, 1970.
He graduated from De Queen High School in 1989, and was an employee of Sevier County. He was a member of the De Queen Church of Christ, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Guy Hall and Wallace Friend.
He is survived by two daughters: Linda Rosanne Hall and Miranda Gayle Hall, both of De Queen; his parents: Randy and Linda Hall of De Queen; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Michael and Sandra Hall of Texarkana; and Gary and Christine Hall of De Queen; his grandmothers: Frances Hall and Stella Friend, both of De Queen; and a number of nieces, nephews; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services for Mr. Russell Hall were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 27, 2002 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Van Ledbetter officiating. Burial followed in the Redmen cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Viewing was prior to service.
Mattie Lee Bradley
Mrs. Mattie Lee Martin Bradley, age 72, resident of Lockesburg, died Friday, Nov. 22, 2002 in Wilton.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26 in Mt. Joy cemetery near Daisy with Harold Turner officiating; under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.
She was born Aug. 18, 1930 to Sanford George and Allie Dwyer Martin; and was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son; Richard K. Turner of Rogers; two daughters, Rebecca Lynn Ward and Tammie Lee Ward, both of Lockesburg; one sister, Betty Walker of Lockesburg; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Roger Richard Pope
Roger Richard Pope, age 69, resident of Mena and formerly of De Queen, died Friday, Nov. 22, 2002 in St. Joseph Medical Center in Hot Springs.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26 in Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J.L. Walker officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites followed in Clear Creek cemetery.
He was born Nov. 18, 1933 in Horatio to Aaron and Fannie Pannell Pope; was a retired heavy equipment operator for Red River Army Depot; a 32nd degree Mason; a member of Sweet Home Lodge #461; the Scottish Rite of Ft. Smith; and was a Baptist. He was predeceased by a sister, Linda Burke.
He is survived by his wife, Nola Pope of Mena; two daughters, Jessee Pope and Carolyn Smith; two sons, Jerry Pope and David Pope, all of Tulsa, Okla.; one sister, Melba Lucky of El Dorado; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Delmaire E. McBroom
Delmaire E. McBroom, age 57, resident of Watson, Okla., died Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002 at his home.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25 in Sulphur Springs Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Herb Shreve officiating. Internment was in Watson cemetery under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena.
He was born Oct. 13, 1945 in Smithville, Okla., to the late Earnest Abe and Effie Shaw McBroom; was a United States Army veteran serving in the Vietnam Conflict; a self-employed carpenter; and of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Janell McBroom of Watson, Okla.; one son, Earnest Mc-Broom of Mesquite, Tex.; three daughters, Deana McBroom of Dallas, Tex., and Misty Mc-Broom and Becky McBroom, both of Mesquite, Tex.; two step-daughters, Ellen Martin of Octavia, Okla., and Marilyn Hendricks of Watson, Okla.; four brothers, Henry McBroom and Orval McBroom, both of Octavia, Okla., Lonnie Mc-Broom of Gillham; and Kenneth McBroom of McCloud, Okla.; four sisters, Sarah Oliver of Gillham, Dessie Chaney of De Queen, Leona "Dut" William, Shawnee, Okla., and Delois Sigler of Clayton, Okla.; four grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Phillip Michael Blackmon
Phillip Michael Blackmon, age 43, resident of Hooks, Tex., died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003 in Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28 in Grannis United Pentecostal Church with Rev. F.L. Diven officiating. Burial followed in Grannis cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.
He was born Dec. 5, 1959 in Terrell, Tex., to David and Nettie Blackmon; was a tree cutter; and a member of Eastview United Pentecostal Church in Hooks, Tex.
He is survived by three daughters, Sarah Blackmon and Amanda Blackmon, both of Delight, and Sandra Blackmon on Oil City, La.; his mother, Nettie Blackmon of Hooks, Tex.; and two brothers, Jerry Donald Blackmon and Odis Lee Blackmon, both of Hooks, Tex.
