Dearl Dean Stuart
Dearl Dean Stuart, age 73 a resident of Dierks, Arkansas, died Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at his home.
He was born April 23, 1946 in Dierks. He was a shipping and receiving clerk for 48 years at Weyerhaeuser and the Briar Plant, he served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Dierks. Mr. Stuart loved his family, he enjoyed gardening and sharing the vegetables he grew with family and friends.
Mr. Stuart was preceded in death by four brothers. Jimmy Dale Stuart, Ben C. Stuart, Hersey Skinner and James Skinner.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Lane) Stuart; two daughters and sons-in-law, DeAnn and Rob Morrow of Dierks and Dione and Mike Gilmore of Lockesburg; two grandchildren, Makalee Rose Gilmore and Stuart Lane Hockaday and wife, Rachel; one great-grandchild, Kinsley Ann Gilmore and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Stuart will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 6, 2019 in the Dierks Cemetery with Roy Coleman and Bro. Kevin Harrington officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

Mrs. Winona Armer
Mrs. Myra Winona Frady Armer, age 84, resident of Horatio, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at the Dierks Health and Rehab.
She was born to Lymon William and Jane Maud Bartlett Frady on October 5, 1935 in Horatio. She was a 1953 graduate of Horatio High School and in 1958 she received degrees in Elementary Education, Library Science and Art from Ouachita Baptist University. She married the love of her life, Cartes Dale Armer, on November 26, 1958 at the First Baptist Church in Horatio. She was an educator having worked at Winthrop, Horatio and Foreman. She retired from the Lockesburg School District after 41 years service. She was a member of the Horatio First Baptist Church and attended Memorial Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, spending time with children and music, but most of all, she cherished the time spent with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 39 years, Cartes Armer, in 1997; and one sister, Laura Autrey.
She is survived by one son, Russell Brian Armer of Horatio; one daughter, Cartreesa Annette Phillips and her husband Cody of Horatio; one granddaughter, Jessica Tugman and her husband CJ of Horatio; four great-grandchildren, Jadyn and Layla Moreland and Remington and Pasiley Tugman; one sister, Maudean Pickett of Mesquite, Texas; three brothers, David L. Frady and his wife Janice of De Queen, John L. Frady and his wife Nedra of Texarkana, and Danny L. Frady also of Texarkana; one sister-in-law, Louise Armer Leverett and her husband Gene of Horatio; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Winona Armer will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 6, 2019 at the Horatio Cemetery with Bro. Jimmy Roden officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials be made to the Texarkana Baptist Children’s Home, 5401 East 9th Street, Texarkana, Arkansas 71854, in Mrs. Winona’s memory.
Mrs. Peggy Bryan
Mrs. Peggy Lynn Bryan passed peacefully from this worldly life, into her eternal heavenly home on December 3, 2019, surrounded by family. Peggy was born to Hope Rogers and the late Robert Burns on June 24, 1952 in De Queen, Arkansas. She was a life-long member of Geneva Missionary Baptist Church in De Queen.
Peggy was preceded in death by a precious daughter, Roseanna Lyn Bryan; one sister, Penny Burns; and a father, Robert Burns.
She leaves behind to cherish her beautiful memory, her husband of 50 years and the love of her life, Kenneth Lyn Bryan of Lockesburg, Arkansas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Johnny and Robyn Hacker of Foreman, Arkansas and David and Denise Beck of De Queen, Arkansas; one son and daughter-in-law, Culley and Sarah Bryan of Lockesburg, Arkansas; four grandchildren and spouses, Amber and Marty Clayton of Foreman, Denali and Theo Ramsey of South Korea, Kaleb Hacker of Foreman and Danielle Beck of De Queen; as well as, one great-grandson, William Clayton of Foreman; her mother, Hope Rogers of Ashdown, Arkansas; two sisters, Pat Martinez and Paula Landaverde, both of Texarkana, Arkansas; one brother, Dave Rogers of De Queen; as well as, many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Peggy enjoyed cooking meals for her family and was said to be able to make a 2×4 taste delicious. She enjoyed watching the cooking and travel channels and had a large collection of cookbooks and travel magazines. She loved to travel and camp. Peggy has been from coast to coast and from the Gulf to Alaska. One of her favorite lines was “Of all you have seen of this country, how much do you own?” Her reply was, “In a way, I own it all, in my mind’s eye and memories.” She was extremely well-read and loved everything western and Indian. She also loved armadillos and stories of armadillo chases that her family was involved in. Peggy had a talent unmatched for writing stories and devotionals for all to enjoy, like the meatloaf recipe and her famous lost and found ad about Kenneth.
Peggy was a selfless wife, adored mother, loving Mamaw and the very best friend anyone could ask for. If she knew you, she loved you and she always saw the very best in humankind. If she were here today, she would tell you all, never take one moment for granted and do not wait a second longer to accept our most kind and gracious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, so you may see her again in Heaven one day.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Peggy Bryan will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 6, 2019 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bros. Gary Welch and Travis Lane officiating. Private family burial will follow, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will gather at Geneva Missionary Baptist Church, following the service.
Thomas L. Petet
Thomas L. Petet, age 80, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Monday, December 2, 2019, in Little Rock, Arkansas.
He was born October 13, 1939, in Lockesburg, Arkansas. He was a construction worker, owner and manager of PoCo Mart for 15 years, and retired as a truckdriver for Tobin Butane. Tom was a Christian and member of Memorial Baptist Church. He was also a Shriner and 32 degree mason. Tom retired from the De Queen Fire Department, served in the United States Army, served as Chairman of the Fireman’s Pension Review Board, and also served on the De Queen City Council.
Mr. Petet was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Dean Province Petet; one sister, Mary Lou Martin; and one nephew, Steve Martin.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Petet; one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Tracy Ferguson of Benton, Arkansas; two sons, Tracy Petet and Michael Petet; a daughter-in-law and husband, Alisa and Charles McElfresh of Benton, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Jennifer Clayton, Summer Robinson, Barrett Petet, and Emily Petet; four great grandchildren, Trudie Robinson, Landry Clayton, and Taylor Clayton; one brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Virginia Petet of Springdale, Arkansas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Petet will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 6, 2019, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jason Carlton and Bro. Joe Carlton officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 5th at the funeral home chapel in De Queen.

Mr. Clay Witherspoon
Mr. Clay Alan Witherspoon, age 45, a resident of Hatfield, Arkansas, died Saturday, November 9, 2019 in CHI St Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs.
He was born on September 19, 1974 in Vallejo, California. He worked in the electrical field, construction and computers. Clay enjoyed hunting, fishing, making bracelets, and paracords. Most of all, Clay cherished the time spent with his family and friends.
Clay is survived by three children, Trenton Roy Witherspoon, and Sarinda Leigh Witherspoon, both of Cove, Arkansas, and Dacoda Ryan Alexander Witherspoon Trent of Durant, Oklahoma, his mother, Brenda Jones of Hatfield, Arkansas, his father and step-mother, Jack and Kathy Witherspoon of Washington, Utah, two sisters, Yvonne Gale and her husband, Michael of East Ridge, Tennessee, Kristel and her husband, Jody Williams of De Queen,Three nephews, three nieces, and three great-nephews, as well as other family members and a host of friends.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., December 7, 2019 at the First Baptist Church, De Queen, with Rev. Jack “Scooter” Hicks officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Connie G. Swim
Connie G. Swim, 74 years of age, passed away on November 18, 2019 at his home in Kerrville, TX surrounded by his family. He was born in Ralls, TX to Herbert and Mary Swim on June 16, 1945. Connie was married to Glenda Wilson on September 12, 1962 in New Boston, TX.
Connie attended school in De Queen, Arkansas and then proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged in 1965 and then moved to Kerrville, where he worked for Hill Country Vending for many years until he retired due to medical issues.
Connie was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gene, his sisters Norine Pearson and Opal Drury.
He is survived by his loving wife Glenda, twin brother Donnie Swim and nephew Chuck Swim of Dallas, son Murray Allen Swim, and daughter Mary Christine Rodriguez and husband George. He is also survived by his grandchildren Matthew Swim, Cecily George, Emily Swim, Bryan Ishmael and wife Caitlyn, and CJ Cain and wife Dianna. In addition, he is survived by his great grandchildren Darius, Michael, Alix, and Kieran George, Charles and Scarlett Williams, and Christopher Ishmael.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 22, 2019 at 2 P.M. at Garden of Memories Cemetery, officiated by Frankie Enloe under the care of Grimes Funeral Chapels.
The family wishes to express our sincere thanks to the Peterson Hospice team for their tender love and kindness. And, an extra special thank you to his nurse Diane and others that assisted with his care.

Florence Dela Rosa
Florence Dela Rosa, age 46, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Sunday, November 24, 2019, in Little Rock, Arkansas.
She was born February 10, 1973, in Bay City, Michigan. She worked as a Certified Nurse Aid at Brookwood Nursing Home. Florence enjoyed reading, crocheting, and loved her grandchildren.
Mrs. Dela Rosa was preceded in death by her mother, Julie Spencer Brown.
She is survived by her father, Orie Brown; three children, Dustin Cano, Lacey Dela Rosa and husband Ricardo Juarez, and Desiree Dela Rosa all of De Queen; her sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Omar Montoya of Texarkana; nine grandchildren, Avery, Devon, Alora, Xavier, Braylee, Rylee, Dustin Jr., Parker, and Austin; and one niece and four nephews.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Dela Rosa will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, December 1, 2019, at Redmen Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Saturday, November 30th at the funeral home.
