Mr. Daniel Stover
Mr. Daniel Louis Stover, age 31, resident of De Queen, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 in Little Rock, Arkansas.
He was born to Roy D. Stover and LaNora Christine Swindler on April 19, 1988 in Duncan, Oklahoma. He was a former member of the De Queen Cubs football team, was a 2006 graduate of De Queen High School and proudly served with the United States Army Reserves. Daniel joined the reserves after graduation and served with the 704th Combat Engineers from 2008 to 2009 during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Later he served two tours in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. After his discharge from the service, Daniel worked for GM Motors in Mena. He was of the Baptist faith but often attended church with his father at the De Queen First Assembly of God. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry work and spending time with his family and friends.
As a final selfless act, the Stover family has honored Daniel’s wishes to donate his useful organs to the betterment of others.
He was preceded in death by his mother; maternal grandparents, Fern and Clifford Swindler; paternal grandparents, Ollie Joe and Margie Stover; and one brother, Ricky Don Grigsby.
He leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, his parents, Roy and Wanda Stover of De Queen; siblings and their spouses, Richard and Ashley Stover of De Queen, Leroy and Deandra Williams of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Tonya andAngie runnels of Sheridan, Arkansas and Derek and Tiffany Sullivan of Grannis; uncles and outlaws, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Daniel Stover will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 17, 2019 in the De Queen First Assembly of God with Pastor Ray Reynolds, Bro. Tim Johnson and Roy Stover officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the chapel Hill Cemetery, De Queen, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Monday, September 16th, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to help pay funeral expenses.
Ramona Mae Neal Cowling
Ramona Mae Neal Cowling, age 63, a resident of Foreman, Arkansas, departed from this life at her home Tuesday, September 10, 2019, to be with the Lord.
She was born November 23, 1955, in De Queen, Arkansas. She was a retired Registered Nurse and a full time NaNa. Mrs. Cowling was a member of the New Boston Church of Christ where she was a devoted Christian who remained steadfast until the end.
Mrs. Cowling was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Flora Key Neal; a sister, Deborah Lee Neal.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Richard Cowling; one daughter and son-in-law, Brianna and Will Segraves; a son and daughter-in-law, Jacob and Katey Cowling all of Foreman; four precious grandchildren, Peyton Neal, Kaden Thomas, Briley Kate, and Clara Lynn; two sisters, Karen Smith of Foreman and Nancy Milam of Rogers, Arkansas; three brothers-in-law, Larry Cowling of Foreman, Otto Cowling of Foreman, and Ken and wife Elaine Cowling of Texarkana, Arkansas; two sisters-in-law, Jan and husband Mickey Trammell of Texarkana, Texas and Carol and husband Bob Frost of Denison, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews and a host of close family and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cowling will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 14, 2019, at the New Boston Church of Christ with Bro. Kevin Cauley officiating. Burial will follow in the Marvin Cemetery in Foreman under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, September 13th at Madden Funeral Home in Foreman.
Mr. Ray Westbrook
Mr. Ray S. Westbrook, age 97, a resident of De Queen, died Monday, September 09, 2019, in Ashdown, Arkansas.
He was born the late John S. and Mallie Ray Brown Westbrook in De Queen, Arkansas, on May 2, 1922. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U S Army. He was a retired grain elevator operator in Lubbock, Texas, and a Baptist. Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working cows, but most of all, he cherished the time spent with family and friends.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Cullus Bryan and Kim Westbrook of Lubbock, Texas, a daughter, Rhonda Rae Westbrook of Wylie, Texas, two grandchildren, Missy Westbrook Lambert and Cullus “Brooks” Westbrook and three great-grandchildren, one brother, Bob Westbrook of De Queen.,
Funeral Services for Mr. Ray Westbrook will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, September 15, 2019, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in the Crosstrails Cemetery. Funeral Services are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Visitation will be from 1:30 P.M. until service time.
Rena Ransom Webb
Rena Ransom Webb, age 99, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, died Monday, September 9, 2019, in De Queen, Arkansas.
She was born June 9, 1920, in Provo, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Provo Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Webb was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Willer Lee Ransom; her husband, Woodrow Webb; four sisters, Bid Parsons, Icie Osborn, Zena Jegstrup, and Chloe Hawthorn.
She is survived by five sons, Gary Webb, Larry Webb, Russell Webb, Jimmy Webb, and Kent Webb all of Provo and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Webb will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 14, 2019, at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Rev. Terry Helms officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Mrs. Reba Higgins
Mrs. Reba Louise Higgins, age 75, resident of De Queen, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 in De Queen.
She was born to Winston and Christine Wright Higgins on January 31, 1944 in De Queen, Arkansas. She married the only man she would ever love, James Russell Higgins, on August 4, 1967. She was a graduate of the Gillham High School and worked as a Park Attendant for the United States Corp of Engineers. She was a member of the Union Baptist Church and enjoyed photography, especially being able to photograph the wildlife. She also enjoyed seeing the visitors of the Cossatot Reefs State Park and handing out candy to the children. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of over 36 years, Russell Higgins; two grandchildren, Haylee Higgins and Chris Parker; one brother, C.W. Higgins, Jr., and a step-son, Guy Higgins.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Darren Higgins and his wife Bobbi of De Queen and Windell Higgins of Conway, Arkansas; five step-children, Cindy Lewis and her husband Bryan of Salt Lake City, Utah, Christina Higgins of De Queen, Twila Wolford and her husband Danny, also of De Queen, and James Higgins; two foster daughters, Gena Mahler and her husband Brad and Tracy Tomlinson; 25 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Regina Johnson of De Queen. Reba did not have friends. If you knew her, you were family. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and a host of other family.
Memorial Services for Mrs. Reba Higgins will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 14, 2019 in the First Baptist Church, De Queen with Jerry Taylor officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Mrs. Dorothy “Dottie” Miller
Mrs. Dorothy Eileen Harter Miller, age 86, a resident of Wickes and former resident of De Queen, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 in Wickes.
She was born to Wilbur Asa and Arvilla Louise McCall Harter on May 18, 1933 in Washington, Iowa. She married the love of her life, John William Miller, on April 12, 1953 in Centerville, Iowa. She was a member of the Smyrna Church of Christ and was a homemaker. Dottie enjoyed crossword puzzles, puzzles, sewing, knitting and crocheting, but most of all, she cherished the time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of over 55 years, John W. Miller; and two sisters, Nancy Harter and Virginia Kane.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Terry Miller and his wife Lisa of Lone Grove, Oklahoma; three daughters, Sherry Evans of Kingman, Arizona, Cindy Bivins of Dierks and Tracy Morris and her husband Robin of Wickes; ten grandchildren, Andrea, Luke, Debbie, Becky, Jennifer, Amanda, Tiffany, Ashley, Eric and Travis; nineteen great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; as well as, other relatives and a host of friends.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Miller will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 7, 2019 in the Smyrna Cemetery, De Queen, with Charles Foster Krudwig officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, September 6th, at the funeral home. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Mack Arthur Smith
Mack Arthur Smith, age 77, a resident of Umpire, Arkansas died Sunday, September 1, 2019, at his home.
He was born June 19, 1942 in Umpire. He was a truck driver, a United States Army Vereran, and a member of the Church of Christ.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Millie Inez Parsons Smith; a sister, Mary Lou Golden, a brother, Ralph Smith, and an infant sister.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Krantz Smith; two daughters and a son-in-law, Kim Hawkins of Basin, Wyoming and Judy and Marty Young of De Queen, Arkansas; one son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Crystal Smith of Umpire; his grandchildren, Justin (Sarah) Parrish, Ryan (Kayla) Parrish, Mackay, Maclane, Thomas, and Courtney; great grandchildren, Lexi, Aiden, Brailey, Grayson, Kaycie, Hudson, and baby to be, Amelia; a sister-in-law, Verna Smith, a brother-in-law, Royce Golden; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2019 in the Athens Church of Christ with Lance Lowrey officiating. Burial will follow in the Saline Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 5th at the funeral home in Dierks.
