Micheal Wayne Guire
Mr. Micheal Wayne Guire, age 55, a resident of Gillham, Arkansas died Thursday, July 11, 2019, at his home.
He was born April 2, 1964, in De Queen, Arkansas. He was a contractor and attended Almond Church.
Mr. Guire was preceded in death by his parents, Orval Cash Guire and Betty Price; two brothers, Doug Guire and Lee Guire; and grandparents, David and Annie Guire and Cecil and Gladys Price.
He is survived by his wife Diana Guire of Gillham; one daughter, Derricka Tallant of Ashdown, Arkansas; one sister and brother-in-law, Laura and James Plumley of Deport, Texas; and nine nieces and nephews.
Memorial services for Mr. Guire will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 15, 2019, at Almond Church with Steve Chenoweth officiating. Cremation arrangements by Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m., Monday the 15th until the service.
Priscilla Ann Stinnett Cole
Mrs. Priscilla Ann Stinnett Cole, age 73, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Wednesday, July 10, 2019, in Texarkana, Texas.
She was born June 18, 1946, in Horatio, Arkansas. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Burl and Ruby Humphrey Stinnett.
She is survived by her husband, Bootney Cole and one son, Rob Cole of De Queen.
No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation arrangements by Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Steven Wayne Bryant
A memorial service for Steven Wayne Bryant, age 49, formerly of Grannis, AR, will be held Saturday, July 13th, 2:00 pm in the Grannis cemetery with Rev. James Squares officiating.
He was born February 4, 1970 and died as the result of a car accident near Idabel, OK on June 11, 2019.
He is survived by his wife Charlot, a brother Kieth, two daughters: Megan and Marina and two grandchildren.
He was the son of the late Louise and Elroy Bryant of Grannis and the grandson of the late Marvin and Martha Wilcher of Wickes and the late Edith and Luther Bryant of Grannis.
Dr. Joe Austin
Dr. Joe Austin, age 82, a resident of Texarkana, Texas died Saturday, July 6, 2019, at his home.
He was born to Othor S. and Ellie Whisenhunt Austin on August 7, 1936, in Dierks, Arkansas. He graduated Horatio High School in 1954, was a United States Navy Veteran, graduated from Henderson State University, Texas A&M University at Commerce and North Texas State University. Dr. Austin served as a teacher, coach, and school administrator for thirty-two years in Arkansas and Texas.
He served as an officer and director in many social, civic, and professional organizations. He is a lifetime member of both the Arkansas and Texas State PTA’s, a lifetime member of the Texas Association of School Administrators, and Lions Club International.
Dr.. Austin was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Loy Gene Austin and one sister, Verna Kreider.
He is survived by three sons and two daughters in law; Joe and Rachel Austin of Milwaukee, Wisconsin Jon Austin of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Lee and Amy Austin of Texarkana, Texas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Glen and Vicki Austin of Little River Club, Winthrop, AR and Bob and Pat Austin of Harlingen, Texas; 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services for Dr.. Austin will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 9, 2019, in the Horatio Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, July 8th at the funeral home.
Larry Parson
Mr. Larry Parson, age 71, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas died Sunday, July 7, 2019, at his home.
He was born February 28, 1948 in Honey Grove, Texas. He was a welder, a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lockesburg, and was a Baptist minister for 45 years.
Mr. Parson was preceded in death by his parents, Jess Willard and Gracie Belle Forehand Parson; a brother, J.W. Parson and a sister, Brenda Webb.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol Sallee Parson; two daughters, Sherry and husband Marlowe King of Lockesburg, and Rachel Parson of Hope, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Chance King and Lauren King; a brother, Jess Mike Parson of Lockesburg; two sisters, Lucy and husband Buddy Heath of Foreman, Arkansas, and Jo and husband Phillip Hobbs of De Queen, Arkansas; three great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Parson will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2019 in the Old Union Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Archie Phillips and Bro. Chance King officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Center Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at the funeral home.
Dale Bizzell
Raymond Dale Bizzell, age 75, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas died Saturday, July 6, 2019, at his home.
He was born July 10, 1943, in Lockesburg to R.W. “Jack” and Alice Phillips Bizzell. He was a husband, father, son, brother, uncle and beloved Pawpaw. He loved hunting, fishing, working cattle, basketball, and hanging out at the Co-Op and their café in Lockesburg. He was a Baptist and Christian and enjoyed time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Rodger Dale Bizzell and Kenneth Ray Bizzell; a brother, Kenneth James Bizzell; and a step son, Terry Ballard.
He is survived by his wife, Nadine Bizzell of Lockesburg; a daughter, JoAnn Bizzell Keener and husband Billy of De Queen; a step son, Don Ballard and wife Cathy of Ashdown; four step daughters, Judy and Royce Steed of Lockesburg, JoAnn and Chuck Martin of Lockesburg, Carol and Jim Stockman of Ashdown, and Pam and Wayne Warden of East Bend, North Carolina; two sisters, Kathryn Bizzell Crawford and husband John of Arkadelphia, Arkansas and Velma Bizzell Ayers of Ashdown; two daughters-in-law, Kim Bizzell of Ben Lomond and DeAnne Bizzell of Winnsboro, Louisiana; his grandchildren, Christopher Womack, Michael Clark, Lauren Bizzell, Justin Bryan, Melodie Bizzell Dowdy, Rebecca Bizzell and Wilson Bizzell; and several great grandchildren; 13 step grandchildren, 24 great step grandchildren, two great-great step grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Bizzell will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 9, 2019, in the First Baptist Church of Lockesburg. Burial will follow in the Belleville Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 8th at the funeral home.
Ms. Donna Rogers
Ms. Donna Lee Rogers, age 73, a resident of De Queen, passed from this life on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at the Bear Creek Healthcare, De Queen.
She was born Donna Lee Christian to the late Herman and Bertha L. House Christian on March 25, 1946 in Whittier, California. She attended the Old Union Baptist Church in Lockesburg and was a homemaker. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a lover of Diet Cokes, nature and gardening, but most of all, she cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Wayne Christian.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Roy Allan Rogers, Jr. and Joseph Edmond “Joey” and Carey Rogers, all of De Queen; six grandchildren, Shae Rogers of Foreman, Brittany Rogers of Horatio, Jacob, Jessica, Jennifer and Jordan Rogers, all of De Queen, Arkansas; three sisters, Alma Hunter of De Queen, Anita Jones and her husband Dean of Evansville, Indiana and Willa Mae Gathright of Lockesburg; as well as, a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Graveside funeral services for Ms. Donna Rogers will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 9, 2019 in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Lockesburg, Arkansas with Bro. Donnie Davis officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Visitation will be on Monday, July 8th from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., at Chandler Funeral Home.
