Evalyn Josephine Barker Springs Burton
Mrs. Evalyn Josephine Barker Springs Burton, age 86, a resident of Grannis, Arkansas, died Saturday, March 23, 2019 in Texarkana, Texas.
She was born December 11, 1932 in Ashtola, Texas. She worked in data entry and accounts payable for Tyson Foods, was a member of Grannis Baptist Church for 49 years and enjoyed her family and friends and being outside and watching stars.
Mrs. Burton was preceded in death by her parents, Willis Goble and Mary Josephine Bennett Barker; her first husband, Teddy Clyde Springs; one sister, Doyce Mryne Swearington, her twin brother, Alvin “Bud” Barker; one grandson, Teddy Joe Springs, Jr.; and a step-son, Glen Burton.
She is survived by her husband, Floyd Burton of Grannis; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Tom Cutler of Edgewood, Texas and Lisa and Nolan Colbert of Little Elm, Texas; six step-sons, Teddy Joe Springs, Larry James Springs, Tommy Burton, Roger Burton, David Burton, and Shawn Burton; one step-daughter, Charlene Springs Leger; one sister, Lillie Tamplen; 11 grandchildren, Kimberly Babin, John Cutler, Jeffery Springs, Jennifer Gough, Jami Colbert, Benny Springs, Chris Springs, Michael Leger, Jerusha Leger, April Springs, and Jason Springs; and a number of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Burton will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2019 in the Grannis Baptist Church with Bro. John Wisinger officiating. Burial will follow in the Grannis Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday, March 29th at the funeral home.
Mrs. Senith Marie Daniel Riddick
Mrs. Senith Marie Daniel Riddick, age 97, a resident of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, died Friday, March 22, 2019 in Broken Bow.
She was born April 11, 1921 in Horatio, Arkansas. She was a hairdresser and a Baptist.
Mrs. Riddick was preceded in death by her parents, Lando and Bertha Linhart Daniel; her husbands, Buer Lewis and William G. Riddick; two brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by two sisters, Mildred Conatser of Horatio and Virginia Cooper of Shinewell, Oklahoma and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Riddick will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2019 in the Clear Creek Cemetery with Bro. James McCain officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Paul Leslie Foster
Paul Leslie Foster, age 68, a resident of Foreman, Arkansas, died Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at his home.
He was born July 10, 1950, in Kaufman County, Texas. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and camping.
Mr. Foster was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Leslie and Lucy Constance Bryant Foster.
He is survived by his spouse of 38 years, Tonya Lea Baker; one daughter, Melanie Rene Baker of Leonard, Texas; one son, Jason Bryan Douglas of Virginia; one sister, Constance Mamie Jane Johnson of Dallas, Texas; and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Norma Lewis
Mrs. Norma Jean McElroy Lewis, age 83, a resident of the Oak Grove Community, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at her home.
She was born to the late Henry McElroy and Jessie Nelson on June 24, 1935 in Stamps, Arkansas. She married the love of her life, Robert Lee Lewis, on September 26, 1959 in Nashville, Arkansas. She worked for Tyson Foods and was a Nurse’s Aide, having worked at the De Queen Regional Medical Center. Norma loved the Lord, was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Oak Grove. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, sewing, quilting and shooting the breeze, but most of all, she cherished the time spent with those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Lee Lewis, in 1965; three brothers, Gene Nelson, Harvey Nelson and Elvin Nelson; as well as, a sister and brother-in-law, Billie and Lawrence Candler.
She leaves to cherish her lasting memory, two sons, Reginald Lewis and special friend Sharon Johnson of Hope and James Lewis and wife Sherry of Prescott; three daughters, Glenda Wynn, Dorothy Scroggins, and Billie Newton and husband James, all of Lockesburg; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Roy Nelson and wife Vera of Ashdown, Clevelon Nelson and wife Gwendolyn of Dallas, Texas and Charles Nelson and wife Patricia of Charleston, South Carolina; one sister-in-law, Helen Nelson of Dallas, Texas; special friends, Leon Alexander, LeeVell Polite, Jake Greenlee and Clenon Geiger, all of Lockesburg; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Norma Lewis will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 30, 2019 in the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Oak Grove, with Rev. Ronald Goodloe officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, March 29th, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ollie Emmerich
Mrs. Ollie Cornish Emmerich, age 90, a resident of The Villages, Florida and former resident of Horatio, passed from this life on Sunday, March 17, 2019 in Florida.
She was one of nine children born to John Morgan and Lula Alma Willyard Cornish on October 25, 1928. She married the love of her life, Charles Dorron Emmerich, on February 25, 1950, and to this marriage, three children were born. Ollie loved the Lord and was a member of the First Assembly of God in Horatio. She enjoyed reading her Bible, crocheting, gardening and influencing lives for God’s Kingdom and Glory. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parent; her husband of over 67 years, Charles Dorron Emmerich, in 2017; her son, Charles Morgan Emmerich, also in 2017; one daughter, Sharron Paulette Emmerich, in 1952; one grandchild, Charlie Emmerich; two brothers, Ernest Cornish and Clarence Cornish; and five sisters, Jewel Blasingame, Love Lang, Lula (Toots) Lang, Letha Withed and Myrna Sue Rapert.
She is survived by one daughter, Charolette Angle and her husband Rick of The Villages, Florida; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Autumn Bryan, husband Ed and their son, Buck of Shongaloo, Louisiana, Dirk Angle, wife Sara and their children, Derek and Lyla of Sandy, Utah, Brett Angle, wife Betina and their children, Caleb, Tydus and Torrence of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Angelica Emmerich of Los Angeles, California, Myla Mendoza of Indianapolis, Indiana, Bryson Mendoza of Perryville, Missouri and Garett Emmerich of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; one sister Lela Riley of El Paso, Arkansas; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Ollie Emmerich will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 30, 2019 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ed Bryan officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Center Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M., until service time, Saturday, at the funeral home.
James Franklin Chaney
James Franklin Chaney, age 60, a resident of Hot Springs, Arkansas, died Monday, March 18, 2019, in Hot Springs.
He was born November 3, 1958, in Spokane, Washington. He was a taxi driver and a Baptist.
Mr. Chaney was preceded in death by his parents, James George and Dessie Vern Carter Chaney; and a great nephew, Steven Daniel Maish.
He is survived by his wife, Jerri Riddle Chaney of Hot Springs; one daughter and son-in-law, Vanessa and Shawn Abney of Hot Springs; one granddaughter, Meagan Rose Abney; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Larry Vance and Kathy and Danny Bivins all of Gillham, Arkansas; one niece, Nichole Maish of De Queen; two nephews, James Vance of Gillham and Shane Vance of Horatio, Arkansas; one great nephew, Michael Maish; one great niece, Hannah Maish; and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial visitation for Mr. Chaney will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2019, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen.
Mr. Guy Jegstrup
Mr. Victor Guy Jegstrup, age 71, a resident of Lockesburg, died Tuesday, March 19, 2019 in the Little River Nursing and Rehab, Ashdown.
He was born to Hans C. and Zena Ransom Jegstrup on May 20, 1947 in Provo. He drove a truck and worked for the B-Line company with 30 plus years service. He occasionally attended church at Old Time Gospel and enjoyed the time spent with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Jegstrup.
He is survived by one daughter, Kristian Marie Derby and husband Richard of New Haven, Connecticut; one brother and sister-in-law, William Floyd and Betty Jegstrup of Lockesburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Joe Ed Jewel of Ashdown; a sister-in-law, Melba Jegstrup of Dallas, Texas, as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 23, 2019 at the Old Time Gospel Church in Lockesburg with Terry Helms officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
