Nora Ellen Davis Smith
Nora Ellen Davis Smith, age 80, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Friday, January 18, 2019, in De Queen.
She was born on June 29, 1938 in the Provo Community near Lockesburg, Arkansas to Fred and Mae Beaty Davis. She retired from the meat market at Lewis Food Center and she was a member of the First Christian Church of De Queen.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister and one grandson.
She is survived by her husband, Lyndall Smith; daughters, Sherry Miller, Leanne Gray and Teresa Sims all of De Queen; one son, Mike Denson of De Queen; three stepsons, David Smith of Texarkana, Texas, Michael Smith of Harrison, Arkansas and Scott Smith of De Queen and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services for Mrs. Smith will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in Redmen Cemetery with Bro. Wesley Blankenship officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., January 21st at the funeral home.

Jessie Lee Carroll, Jr.
Mr. Jessie Lee Carroll, Jr., age 52, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Thursday, January 10, 2019 in a McGehee, Arkansas Hospital.
He was born to Jessie Lee, Sr., and Jeanne Ann Wing Carroll on September 21, 1966 in Fort Worth, Texas. He enjoyed sports, fishing, video games, playing pool, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Patrick and Deborah Wing of Horatio, Arkansas, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Nicky and Danny Booth of Hamilton, Texas, and Linda Fuller of Red Oak, Texas, and a number of nieces, nephews, other family members as well as a host of friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Jessie Carroll will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 14, 2019 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. E. A. Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Bellville Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 13th from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Phyllis Edwards
Mrs. Phyllis Ann Miller Edwards, age 63, a resident of Dierks, passed from this life on Friday, January 11, 2019, at her home.
She was born on June 24, 1955, in California, to the late Herman Edwin and Bobbie Nell Bearden Miller. She married Larry Edwards in March of 1985, worked for the Tyson Corporation and a local nursing home. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed sewing and caring for animals, but most of all, she cherished the time spent with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her step-father, J.D. Jones.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of over 33 years, Larry Edwards of Springdale; three sons, Michael Baxter and his wife Christy, and Bobby Baxter and his wife Stephanie, all of Springdale, and Ty Baxter of Dierks; one daughter, Jada Baxter of Dierks; three grandchildren, Kateland Staudt of Rogers, Katheryn Baxter and Eric Richardson, both of Springdale; one step-granddaughter, Payton Woods of Springdale; two brothers, Robbie Miller and his wife Kelly of Dierks and David Miller and his wife Stephanie of Temple, Texas; a special niece and caregiver, Jennifer Deaton of Dierks; as well as, other nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Memorial Services for Mrs. Phyllis Edwards will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, January 13, 2019, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenny Fant officiating. A private family burial will follow at a later date in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Umpire. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Mr. Gordon Voldahl
Mr. Gordon Murry Voldahl, age 74, a resident of Gillham, died Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at his home.
He was born to Eddie Oliver and Emma Basmoen Voldahl on September 8, 1944, in Albert Lea, Minnesota. He worked in boat sales and painted homes. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and stirring up business when he could, but most of all, he cherished the time spent with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Lannett Mitchell of Gillham; one daughter, Darcie Voldahl Luster and one son, Chris Voldahl, both of Floyd, Virginia; two stepsons, Christoher Rodriguez and Michael Maloney, both of Gillham; one stepdaughter, Summer Mitchell of Gillham; as well as, other relatives and a host of friends.

Robert “Bob” Paul Piearcy
Robert “Bob” Paul Piearcy Sr. age 77, of Mena, died Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at John L. McClellan Memorial Hospital in Little Rock. He was born on Monday, March 17, 1941 to Philip Anderson and Elsie Lannie Keen Piearcy in Hugo, Oklahoma.
Bob was a Godly man with strong Christian values whose bible and faith guided his life. He attended the Mena Freewill Baptist Church and regularly participated in home bible studies. Bob proudly served two tours in the United States Army during Vietnam as a military police officer. After his enlistment, Bob went on to work for Alltel for 28 years before retiring. Whenever he found time, Bob was an avid golfer. But, nothing was as important to him as his family and Jesus Christ. Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a great friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sue Piearcy; two brothers, David Piearcy and Philip Piearcy; and one sister, Cleta Rose.
Bob is survived by his wife, Denise Piearcy of Mena; three sons and daughter in law; Paul and Sheila Piearcy of Hatton, Todd Piearcy of Mena and Jon Tidwell of Wickes; three daughters and sons in law, Paula Suttle of Hatton, Vicki and David Austin of Magnet Cove and Kristi and Jason Tanaka of Magnet Cove; one brother, Jackie Piearcy of Ola; two sisters, Vernie Jill Smith of Mena, and Geraldine Funderburk of Mena; two sister in laws, Virginia Piearcy of Justin, Texas and Beth Piearcy of Mena; twenty one grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; special friend, Carroll Pettigrew of Mena; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at Wickes Nazarene Church with Brother David Austin, Brother Kerwin Pruitt and Brother Leon McCleskey officiating. Interment will follow in the Daniel Cemetery in Wickes, Arkansas under the direction of Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena. Visitation will be Friday, January 11, 2019 from 6-8 P.M. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Pallbearers are Josh Austin, Jake Austin, Philip Piearcy, Tabor Tanaka, Jason Tanaka and Greg Norman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Randy Sellers, Leon McCleskey, John Roberts, Mike James, Roger Cartwright, Chris Suttle, Clayton Suttle and Miles Strasner.
Larry Wayne Barbre
Mr. Larry Wayne Barbre, age 60, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas died Tuesday, January 8, 2019, in Dierks.
He was born March 4, 1958, in Nashville, Arkansas. He worked at Weyerhaeuser and attended Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Mr. Barbre was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Edward Barbre and a brother, Steve Barbre.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Wood Barbre; his mother, Rosa Lee Blanton Barbre; one son and daughter-in-law, Airc and Amanda Barbre of Dierks; one daughter, Eron Hill also of Dierks; five grandchildren, Steven Matthew Barbre, Sydney Barbre, Brittany Hill, Jeron Hill, and Maylee Hill; three sisters and two brothers-in law, Sharon White of Dierks, Linda and Billy Joe Christopher of Dierks, and Rose and Tony Tollett of Prescott, Arkansas; two brothers, David and Billy Barbre of Dierks; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Larry Shelton.
A memorial visitation for Mr. Barbre will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 15, 2019, in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel in Dierks.

Mr. Leroy Bordelon
Mr. Leroy Joseph Bordelon, age 92, a resident of Grannis, died Tuesday, January 8, 2019 in the Oklahoma Veterans Center, Talihina, Oklahoma.
Mr. Bordelon was born to Adolph and Elisanne Goux Bordelon on June 14, 1926 in Cottonport, Louisiana. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Navy, and was a retired carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, and his wife, Ena Ducote Bordelon.
Mr. Bordelon is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Peggy Bordelon of Mena, Arkansas; a daughter, Judy Blunt of Mena, Arkansas; and a granddaughter, Amy Watts of Sunset, Louisiana.
