Linda Gale Ann Rogers Miller
Mrs. Linda Gale Ann Rogers Miller, age 70, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Tuesday, January 8, 2019, in De Queen.
She was born August 25, 1948, in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was a cook for many years.
Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Paul Rogers, Sr; her mother and stepfather, Helen and Jimmy Wray; her husband, David Earl Miller; one son, Steven Paul Miller; and two sisters, Jennifer Wright and Harriett Rogers.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Amanda Miller of Lockesburg, Arkansas; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Mary Sue Rogers of De Queen, James and Lisa Wray also of De Queen, and Charlie and Tracey Wray of Ringgold, Louisiana; five grandchildren Tyler, Jasie, and Austin Miller, Emily Dowdy and husband David, and Logan Bradshaw, four great-grandchildren, Micah, Landon, Nevaeh, and J.P. Dowdy; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Miller will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the Mt. Ida Cemetery pavilion with Tim Johnson officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Family will receive friend from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday the 9th at the funeral home.
Bennie Louis Ester
Mr. Bennie Louis Ester, age 75, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed from this life on Sunday, January 6, 2019, in the CHRISTUS St. Michael Heath System, Texarkana, Texas.
Bennie was born on October 13, 1943, in Ashdown, Arkansas, to the late Reather and Feola White Ester. After graduating from the Ashdown High School in 1961, Bennie served 11 years with the United States Army and retired after serving another nine years with the Army National Guard. After retiring from the Army, Bennie worked as a Security Supervisor for Pilgrims Pride in De Queen. He enjoyed fishing and jogging, but most of all, he cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Alice Ann Fricks and Mary Virginia Shoal.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Roshawnda Ester of Fort Worth, Texas and Tiffany Ester of De Queen; one son, Benny Ester of De Queen; four grandchildren, Reneisha Ester of Fort Worth, Teonna and Marquez Ester, both of De Queen and Donovan Ester of De Queen; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
A Memorial Visitation for Mr. Bennie Ester with military rites will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 12, 2019, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Terence Henry Haynes
Mr. Terence Henry Haynes, age 85, a resident of Mountain Home, Arkansas and a former resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Saturday, January 5, 2019 in Mountain Home.
He was born January 30, 1933 in Bronx, New York to Frank and Irene McCarthy Haynes. He served in the U.S. Airforce from 1951 to 1955 where he received his education for x-ray technician and lab technician. He used his education that he learned in the Airforce as his life long career. He loved the Lord and it showed to all who knew him. He was a kind, quiet man who loved his family and friends with all his heart. He was a member of the Mountain View Seventh-Day Adventist and a former member of the Beacon Hill Seventh-Day Adventist in De Queen.
Mr. Haynes was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carol Russell Haynes and an infant granddaughter, Kayla LeAnn Burrow.
He is survived by his wife, Leona JoAnn Haynes; Five daughters and sons-in-law, Maureen Haynes and Robin Burrow, Sheryl and Johnny Balentine, Karen and Glenn Zajac, Cindy and Stacy Poff and Michelle and Duane Simmons; ten grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mr. Haynes will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2019 in the Beacon Hill Seventh-Day Adventist Church with Pastor Ron Patterson and Pastor Newman Hance officiating. Burial will follow in the Beacon Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Michael Frank Jones
Mr. Michael Frank Jones, age 65, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas, died Saturday, January 5, 2019 in Dierks.
He was born March 1, 1953 in Orange County, California. He worked in maintenance for Poulan and was a member of the Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Dierks.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, Archie Dale and IIa Grace Short Jones
He is survived by one brother, Archie Dale Jones, Jr. of Dierks; two nephews, Jerry and Gary Jones both of Dierks and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral service for Mr. Jones will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2019 in the Sunshine Cemetery with Calvin Parker officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.
Davey Lee Edmiaston
Mr. Davey Lee Edmiaston, age 68, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Thursday, January 3, 2019, at his home.
He was born July 17, 1950 in De Queen, Arkansas. He served in the Army National Guard, he was a Methodist and was retired from Weyerhaeuser.
Davey was preceded in death by his parents, Francis “Curley” and Virginia Whitley Edmiaston.
He is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dana and Dan Adkins of Horatio and Carlyn and Robert Hubnik of Texarkana, Arkansas; one brother and sister-in-law, Kerry and Debbie Edmiaston of De Queen, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services for Davey will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 13, 2019 in the Horatio Methodist Church with Bro. Phil McLarty officiating. Cremation arrangements by Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Andrew Brian Hammer
Andrew Brian Hammer, age 31, of Hatton, Arkansas died Wednesday, January 2, 2019 in Hatton. He was born on Tuesday, June 30, 1987 to Butch Wayne and Leona Rutherford Hammer in De Queen, Arkansas.
Andy graduated from Wickes High School in 2005 and later became an auto mechanic. He liked all different kinds of music and he truly loved his mother. In his free time, Andy liked deer hunting, going fishing, and doing woodworking. His daughters were the apple of his eye and he loved every second he spent with them. Andy was a loving father, son, grandson, brother, uncle and a great friend and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Richard Hammer; maternal grandparents, Donald and Clarace Rutherford; and uncle, Donald Rutherford.
Andy is survived by his father, Butch Hammer of Cove; his mother and step father, Leona and Jerry Robb of Hatton; two daughters, Lexi Hammer of De Queen, and Page Hammer of De Queen; paternal grandmother, Harvey Hammer of Wickes; two brothers, Danny Hammer and wife, Jessica of Wickes, and Curtis Hammer of Hatton; one sister, Olivia Hammer of Cove; several aunts and uncles, Harvey and Carolann Hammer of Gillham, Mary Snow and husband, Mike of Blain, Washington, and Linda Standridge and husband, Daniel of Malvern; four nieces and nephews, Colton, Marissa, and Spencer Hammer of Wickes, and Artemis LeAnn of Cove; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 3:00 P.M. at Wickes United Methodist Church with Brother Brian Richardson officiating. Cremation services are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas.
Preston Louis Barnes
Mr. Preston Louis Barnes, age 66, a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, January 1, 2019, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He was born June 20, 1952, in Roseburg, Oregon. He was a construction worker and a Methodist.
Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by his father, Columbus B. Barnes and a step-grandson, Billy Ashcraft.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Barnes; his mother, Maxine Riley Barnes; one son, Barry Boling and wife Krystal of Sasakwa, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Jamie and Dusty Boling; one brother, James and wife Debbie Barnes of Gillham, Arkansas; two sisters, Kathy Higgins and Dorothy Helms also of Gillham; one step-son, Kenny Ashcraft of Antlers, Oklahoma; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Barnes will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 5, 2019, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen, Arkansas with Bro. Mark Cloninger officiating. Burial will follow in Valley Cemetery in Gillham.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday the 4th at the funeral home.
