Ms. Dannette Alspaw
Ms. Marlene Dannette Alspaw, age 50, a resident of De Queen, died Friday, September 14, 2018, in Texarkana, Texas, surrounded by her family.

She was born to Daniel and Marlene Alspaw on May 23, 1968, in Bakersfield, California. She completed school in Bakersfield and earned an Associates of Business from the Cossatot Community College University of Arkansas. She was a Master Plumber and enjoyed crafting and making people laugh. Most of all, she enjoyed the time spent with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Alspaw and her sister Danna Alspaw.

She is survived by her mother, Marlene Alspaw of Ashdown, Arkansas; one son, Dextin Wheeler and his wife Whitney of Dierks, Arkansas; one daughter, Dara Barnett and her husband Brent of Magnolia, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Brooklee Cowling and Tyler Barnett of Magnolia, Arkansas; two brothers, Duane Alspaw and his wife Stacey, and Duke Alspaw and his wife Susan, all of De Queen; nieces and nephews, Deven, Clayton and his wife Ariana of Arkadelphia, and Aiden and Ava Alspaw of De Queen; as well as, a special friend, Lisa Adcock, other relatives, and a host of other friends.

Funeral Services for Ms. Dannette Alspaw will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, September 16, 2018, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Duane Alspaw officiating. Burial will follow in the Redmen Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 15th from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., at the funeral home.

Ronnie Lynn Blankenship
Ronnie Lynn Blankenship, age 64, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Wednesday, September 12, 2018, in De Queen.

He was born February 17, 1954, in De Queen. He was a truck driver and attended Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Blankenship was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Marcelene Garner Blankenship; his wife, Robin Blankenship; and two brothers, Rodney and Roy Dale Blankenship.

He is survived by two stepsons, Adam Williams and Kirby Williams; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Randy and Sherri Blankenship and Marty Blankenship all of De Queen; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements by Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Richard Reitenbaugh
Mr. Richard Reitenbaugh was born August 21, 1937, and gained his wings on September 9, 2018.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Reitenbaugh and a son, John Schuetz.

He has a surviving sister, Mamie Wright of Idaho; five children, Jeff Schuetz, Charles Schuetz, Jennifer Bearden, Misty Greenlee, and Ladonna Langley; nine grandchildren, Amber, Justin, Philana, Brody, Chris, Trista, Lucinda, Arman, and Larrisa; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Richard was a great man who touched a lot of hearts and will truly be missed.

Memorial services for Mr. Reitenbaugh will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 15, 2018, at the Church of the Nazarene in Ashdown, Arkansas.

Steven Paul Miller
Steven Paul Miller, age 49, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Saturday, September 8, 2018, in Little Rock, Arkansas.

He was born January 26, 1969 in De Queen.

Steven was preceded in death by his father, David Earl Miller; and his grandparents, William Miller and Jimmy and Helen Wray.

He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Emily and David Dowdy of De Queen; one son, Logan Bradshaw; his mother, Linda Miller also of De Queen; one brother and sister-in-law, Jason and Amanda Miller of Lockesburg, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Sherry Gainey, Micah Dowdy, Landon Dowdy, Nevaeh Dowdy and James Paul Dowdy; his grandmother, Julia Miller; two nephews, Tyler and Austin Miller; and a niece, Jasie Miller.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Miller will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2018 in the Mt. Ida Cemetery pavilion with Bro. Tim Johnson officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 11th at the funeral home.

Donnie Lorene Kiser
1934-2018
Mrs. Donnie Lorene Young Kiser, age 84, of Rockwall, TX, died on September 1, 2018.

There will be a Celebration of Life Friday September 7, 2018 2:00 pm at Eastgate Funeral Home Chapel in Garland, Texas.

Sam Brown Thompson
Mr. Sam Brown Thompson, age 86, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at his home.

He was born November 9, 1931, in Horatio. He was a truck driver, mechanic, and a rancher. Mr. Thompson was also a member of the Horatio First United Methodist Church and a United States Air Force veteran.

Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his parents, W.H.A. and Louise Pride Thompson; a daughter, Penelope Ann “Penny” Jones; and a granddaughter, Brittany Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Purtell Thompson; one son and daughter-in-law, Madison and Maria Thompson of Horatio; and a grandson, Richard Thompson of De Queen, Arkansas.

Funeral services for Mr. Thompson will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 7 , 2018, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Horatio Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday the 6th at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children’s Foundation, 1 Children’s Way, Slot 661, Little Rock, Arkansas 72202-3591.

Paul Edward Churchman
Mr. Paul Edward Churchman, age 92, a resident of Forest, Mississippi, died Saturday, September 01, 2018, in Richland, Mississippi.

Mr. Churchman was born August 14, 1926 in De Queen, Arkansas. He was a mechanical aerospace engineer, a World War II Navy Veteran and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Forest.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Edward and Thelma Gorrell Churchman; one daughter, Diane Churchman Airhart and one brother, Johnnie Churchman.

Mr. Churchman is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Natalie Churchman; two granddaughters, Staci and Leslie Mizell all of Madison, Mississippi; three sisters, Enola Wagnon and Jo Ann Jarrell both of De Queen and Golda Chaney of Miami, Florida and a number of nieces nephews.

A graveside service for Mr. Churchman will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 8, 2018 in Redmen Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Friday, September 7th at the funeral home.

Ronnie David Pickens
Mr. Ronnie David Pickens, age 80, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Monday, September 3, 2018, in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born January 9, 1938, in De Queen. He was employed by D.H. Baldwin Company until his retirement. Mr. Pickens was a 1956 graduate of De Queen High School and a 1960 graduate of the University of Arkansas. He was a member of the De Queen Church of Christ where he served as a Deacon for over 40 years.

Mr. Pickens was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Barbara “Bara” Margaret Cofield Pickens; one brother, Billy Pickens; and one sister, Orval McPhillips.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Gage Pickens; two daughters, Barbara Tozzano of Texarkana, Arkansas and Katy Pickens of De Queen; one son and daughter-in-law, David Pickens and Angie Sunderman of North Little Rock, Arkansas; one grandson, Mark Tozzano; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Pickens will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 6, 2018, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Toney Stowers officiating. Burial will follow in Redmen Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m., Wednesday, September 5th, at the funeral home.
