Sudie Christine Glossup Oglesby
Mrs. Sudie Christine Glossup Oglesby, age 88, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Tuesday, August 7, 2018 in the De Queen Medical Center.

She was born to Marshall Carpenter and Anna Marie Glossup in Chillicothe, Texas, May 15, 1930. She worked in food service as well as a homemaker. She was a member of The First Pentecostal Church of God. She enjoyed jewelry, beadwork, and necklaces, was an avid John Wayne Fan. She was known as Grandma to many.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Melvin Woodard, and Joseph Oglesby; two children, William Leon Woodard, and Judy Ann Cheatham; a brother, Henry Glossup; a sister, Geraldine Glossup; a grandchild, Johnny Riley; .

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Hodges of De Queen; two sons, Larry Oglesby and Gary Oglesby both of De Queen; five grandchildren, Jerry and his wife Hope Cheatham of De Queen, Ella, Mark, Charles, and William; a number great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and a daughter-in-law, Doris Woodard, other family members and a host of friends.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Christine Oglesby will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 10, 2018 in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Cove, Arkansas, with Rev. James Copp officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 9th from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., at the funeral home.

Angela Dunn

Angela Dunn, 46, of Lockesburg, AR, passed away on July 30th, 2018.

She is the daughter of Clarence Lamm Jr. and Stella McGhee. She is preceded in death by her grandparents and a grandson, Madden Beckett.

Angela is survived by her parents, two daughters- Jade Blaauw and Ashlee Dunn, three brothers- Troy Wilson, Shane Lamm, and Christopher McCrobie, two sisters- Paula McBroom and Kristi Buck, and a number of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Angela will be held on Saturday, August 11th, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in Dierks, AR.

Robert Washington Matthews
Mr. Robert Washington Matthews, age 70, a resident of Foreman, Arkansas, died at the place he loved, Sunday, August 5, 2018, in Little River County at his deer lease.

He was born November 19,1947, in Ashdown, Arkansas. He was a farmer and served in the Army National Guard. Robert loved to hunt and fish and he would do anything for anyone.

Mr. Matthew was preceded in death by his parents, Robert W. (Buddy) Matthews II and Bernece Lefevers Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Mills Mathews of Foreman, Arkansas; one son, Sam Bailey of Desoto, Missouri; three daughters, Bobbi Joe Edwards of Clarksville, Tennessee, Robin Sanders of Little Rock, Arkansas and Christy Rincon of Denton, Texas; three brothers, Tom Jones of Ralston, Oklahoma, John R. Jones of Bloomburg, Texas, and Sam Jones of Lantana, Texas; two sisters, Lydia Howard of Bloomburg, Texas and Georgia Jones of Atlanta, Texas; five grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Connie Murphy of St. Louis, Missouri and Roberta Helton of Washington, Missouri; one brother-in-law, Donald Mills of Dallas, Texas and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Mr. Robert Matthews will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 10, 2018, in the Blackland Cemetery with Audie Dawson officiating.

George Neal Jordan
Mr. George Neal Jordan, age 65, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Saturday, August 4, 2018, in the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock.

He was born to Lonzo Jordan and Minnie Nelson Hopkins on December 14, 1952, in De Queen, Arkansas. He was a truck driver and a Master Mechanic. He enjoyed the time spent with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Chester and Lonnie Jordan, Clarence Goff and Randell Nelson; and two sisters, Dorothy Powell and Annie Maull.

He is survived by one daughter, Ashley Lacosta Bowers of Oak Grove, Arkansas; one step-daughter, Brandy Bowers of De Queen; one grandson, JeMarcus Jordan Hendrix; two step-grandsons, Elijah Jamerson and Christopher Trusley; a special nephew, Jacob Jordan Maull; five brothers, Frank Lee Jordan of De Queen, Jerry Lee Whitmore of Maumelle, Tommy “Tony” Whitmore of De Queen, Stephen Leon Whitmore and his wife Elonda of Broken Bow, and Charlie D. Jordan and his wife Katherine of De Queen; three sister, Clara Mae Wilburn of Kansas City, Missouri, April Bennett of Horatio, and Marie Whitmore of De Queen; a special cousin, Leroy Nelson and his wife Maria of Horatio; as well as, other nephews, nieces, other relatives and a host of friends.

Memorial services for Mr. George Jordan will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, August 18, 2018, in the Lewis Temple Church of God in Christ with Supt. E.A. Edwards officiating with the assistance of Apostal Jerome Edwards. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen.

The family ask that donations be made to Chandler Funeral Home to pay toward funeral expenses.

David Jeffrey Brecheisen
Mr. David Jeffrey Brecheisen, age 40, a resident of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and former resident of De Queen, died Saturday July 7, 2018 in Capetown, South Africa.

He was the son of John L. Brecheisen and Teresa L. Duke Brecheisen. He was born on April 4, 1978 in Mena, Arkansas. He graduated from UALR with a Masters in Education and was an English Instructor at the Institute of Public Administration in Saudi Arabia. He was a Christian and enjoyed adventure, traveling, computers, History, and he had a love for antiques. He enjoyed time spent with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Ariadna Brecheisen of Florida; one son, Brice Lane Brecheisen of Arkansas; his parents, John and Teresa Brecheisen of Wickes; three brothers, Richard Jason Ashcraft of Oklahoma, Christopher Jeremy Brecheisen of Texas, and James Brecheisen of Texarkana, two step-brothers, John Brecheisen, Jr. of Eagletown, Oklahoma, and Steven Brecheisen of Provo; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Memorial services for Mr. Jeffery Brecheisen will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 11, 2018, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Clear Creek Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Jorge Luis Martinez Vargas
Mr. Jorge Luis Martinez Vargas, age 30, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Monday, July 30, 2018 in Houston, Texas.

He was born January 21, 1988 in Mexico. He was employed by Thirteen Inc. Concrete and was a member of the St. Barbara Catholic Church. Jorge enjoyed soccer, going to rodeos, traveling and spending time with family. He was a great father and husband and was very friendly.

Jorge was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Alejo Martinez and maternal grandfather, Floriano Vargas.

He is survived by his wife, Mayra Martinez; one daughter, Hadi Martinez; two sons, Jorge Martinez, Jr. and Amir Zaid all of De Queen; his parents, Jose Martinez and Rosa Vargas of De Queen; his brothers and sisters-in-law. Jose Angel Martinez of Houston, Texas, Diego Martinez, Hugo Martinez, Jose Martinez, Daniel Torres and Alvaro Hernandez all of De Queen, Elaina Perez, Mary Martinez, Eliza Camacho, Karina Martinez, Juana Perez, Adolfo Martinez, Jose Martinez; paternal grandmother, Jesus Garcia and maternal grandmother, Carmen Orozco both of Mexico and a number of nieces, nephews and many friends that loved him.

A vigil service will begin at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, August 2nd in the Monsignor Scott Friend Pastoral Center at St. Barbara Catholic Church in De Queen.

Funeral Mass will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, August 3, 2018 in the Monsignor Scott Friend Pastoral Center with Father Ramses Mendieta officiating. Burial will follow in the Redmen Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Edwin Ray Birmingham, Jr.
Mr. Edwin Ray Birmingham, Jr., age 74, a resident of Texarkana, Arkansas died Monday, July 30, 2018, in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born February 15, 1944, in Texarkana. He was a truck driver and a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Mr. Birmingham was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Ray Birmingham and Mary Malderine Richey McCullough; one son, Dion Birmingham; one brother, Richey McCullough; and a sister, Vera Jean McCullough.

He is survived by his significant other, Teresa McNeal and her daughters Jennifer Reed and Tonia Brantley of Texarkana; two sons, Shane Birmingham of Magnolia, Arkansas and Jerald Birmingham of De Queen, Arkansas; two daughters, Shannon Birmingham of De Queen and Rachel Smead of Texarkana, Texas; three brothers, Eric Birmingham of Columbus, Ohio, Jon Birmingham of Aikan, South Carolina, Steve McCullough of Houston, Texas and Jack McCullough of De Queen; one sister, Kay Dickey of Russellville, Arkansas; 20 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Birmingham will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 2, 2018 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jerry Trauger officiating. Burial will follow in Red Lick Cemetery in Red Lick, Texas.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, August 1, at the funeral home.
