James Douglas Ray
James Douglas Ray, age 67, resident of Nashville, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2003.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 in Oak Grove cemetery with Bro. Al Terrel officiating, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home of Nashville.
He was born Sept. 16, 1935 in Nashville to Joe W. and Jo Etta Stuart Ray; was a retired truck driver for Weyerhaeuser; and a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his parents; and his wife, Nancy Hallmark Ray.
He is survived by his children, Scotty Ray of Wickes, Sheila Lamb of De Queen, and Sandra Ray of Austin, Tex.

Darrell A. Chambers
Darrell A. Chambers, age 54, resident of Fort Smith, died Sunday, March 2, 2003 in a Winchester, Va. Hospital.
Memorial services are pending.
He was a truck driver and had worked for Tyson, Lanes, Mullins and many other companies.
He is survived by his mother, Marcelle Shelton of De Queen; three brothers, Eugene Shelton of De Queen, Larry Shelton of Mena and E.C. Shelton of Gillham; three sisters, Ernestine Wright of Shell Knob, Mo., Tamera Lynn Riggs of Norman, Okla., and Teresa Gail Boyd of Texarkana, Tex.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mary Leonard
Mrs. Mary Christine "Chris" Dunn Leonard, age 53, resident of De Queen, died Thursday, February 20, 2003, in Christus St. Michael Health System, Texarkana, Texas.
She was born in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, August 15, 1949. She was a former employee of Brookewood Nursing Home, and attended the Wings of Dove of Ministry.
She is survived by one son: Jimmy Wilmoth of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her mother and step-father: Josephine and Vernon Murray of De Queen; four grandchildren: Christian Wilmoth; Caitlyn Wilmoth; Cheyenne Wilmoth; and Mari Christine Wilmoth all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four brothers: John Dunn; Ray Dunn; Thomas Dunn and Charles Dunn all of De Queen; one sister: Shellie Parker of De Queen; three stepbrothers: Leon Murray of Wenatchee, Washington; Darell Murray of Eugene, Oregon; and Larry Murray of Ogden, Utah; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Chris Leonard were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 24, 2003 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Anton Klinski and Rev. Will Campbell officiating. Burial followed in the Chapel Hill cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
The family was at 1681 Highway 70-71 East, De Queen.
Lillian Polite
Mrs. Lillian Walker Polite, age 56, resident of San Pablo, Calif., and formerly of Lockesburg, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003 in San Pablo.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 12 in McElroy cemetery near Lockesburg with Rev. Rondy Briggs officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen.
She was born Nov. 1, 1946 at Ogden to Jesse and Armelia Walker; and was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas Polite of Lockesburg and John E. Wills of San Pablo, Calif.; one daughter, Trina Wills of Oakland, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 11 at the funeral home.

Robert James Ayers
Mr. Robert James Ayers, age 87, resident of Horatio, died Wednesday, February 19, at his home.
He was born to William Perry (Buddy) Ayers and Dora Mae Litchford Ayers at Horatio, Arkansas, on October 11, 1915. He was a charter member of the Nix Chapel Church, where he taught Sunday School.
He worked at Lone Star Army De-pot during World War II, and worked in log woods and trucking until 1964. He raised cattle and grew chickens for Mountaire and Pilgrim's Pride for 20 years.
He and his wife were named Farm Family of the Year in 1969. He served on the Horatio School Board, where he received an award in 1974. He served on the board of the Sevier County Farmers Co-op and the Farmers Home Administration.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Odell Ayers and Rastus Ayers; two sisters: Ruby Ford and Grace Pickett; infant sons: Ronald, Donald, and Michael Ayers: and a son, Bobby Wayne Ayers.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Corene Young Ayers of Horatio, two sons and daughters-in-law: Larry and Clarenda Ayers and Billy and Wanda Ayers, all of Horatio; a daughter-in-law: Velma Ruth Ayers of Ashdown; one daughter: Deborah Ayers of Lockesburg; one sister: Exa Jones of Texarkana, Arkansas; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Robert Ayers were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2003 in the Old Center Church, Horatio, with Rev. J. L. Walker and Rev. Sam Hendrix officiating. Burial followed in the Old Center cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.
The family received friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Thursday, February 20, 2003 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Alberto Joel Suarez
Alberto Joel Suarez, age 24, resident of Horatio, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003.
A Rosary was held at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17 in Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Father John Kerr officiating. Burial was in Mexico.
He was born June 21, 1978 at Santiago Cacaloxte Huajuapan, Mexico; was an employee of Pilgrims Pride; and a member of St. Barbara’s Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Gonzales Margarito, two daughters, Martha, Bernice, and a baby son, all of San Cristobal Ecatepec de Mexico; his mother, Ernestina Flores Hernandez of Mexico; three brothers and one sister, all of Mexico; and two uncles, Ramon Flores and Serafin Flores, both of Horatio.
Eddie Leroy Barlow
Eddie Leroy Barlow, age 74, resident of Ashdown and formerly of Texarkana, Tex., died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003 in Little River Memorial Hospital at Ashdown.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18 in Chapelwood cemetery near Nash, Tex., under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.
He was born to Eddie and Myrtle Barlow; was a retired employee for the City of Texarkana; and a member of the Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by two nephews, Roy Patterson of Wickes, and Billy Wayne Jeter.
Lucille Harrison
Mrs. Lucille Crawford Harrison, age 90, resident of De Queen, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003 in Christus St. Michael Health Center at Texarkana.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10 in Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. J.L. Walker officiating. Burial followed in Ben Lomond cemetery.
She was born Oct. 21, 1912 in Ben Lomond to George and Sudie Mize Crawford; and was a beauty shop operator for 60 years. She was predeceased by her husband, R.L. Harrison, on May 9, 1997; six brothers, Mize Crawford, Thomas Crawford, George Thomas Crawford Jr., James Robert Crawford, Kenneth Dale Crawford and Jerry Wayne Crawford; and one sister, Nina Lou Bernard McDonald.
She is survived by one daughter, Myra Lynn Ananian of Glendale, Calif.; three brothers, Donald Crawford of Mineral Springs, Mack Crawford of Dover, Del., and Barney Crawford of Greenville, Tex.; one sister, Lorena McKee of Ashdown; and two grandchildren.
The family received friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

James Cooper Kizzia, age 40, resident of Murfreesboro died Tuesday, Feb., 11, 2003.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13 at the First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro with a graveside service at 2 p.m. at Dunlap cemetery in Camden, under the direction of Proctor Funeral Home of Camden. Rev. Stan Adams will officiate the service.
He was christened at the First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro.
He was preceded in death by a grandfather: Oliver Dunlap Martin; two uncles: James Oliver Martin and Sadler Martin and wife; and an aunt: Sue Martin Russell.
He is survived by his mother: Helen Martin of Sheridan; his father: Floyd Cooper Kizzia of Murfreesboro; a sister, Julie Lynn Kizzia Walls of Murfreesboro; a nephew and niece; his maternal grandmother: Sarah Allen Martin of Camden; his paternal grandparents: Fred Kizzia, Sr., and wife, Clarice; an aunt: Jo Walker; and many friends.
The pallbearers were Joe Martin Rogers, Sr., of Camden, Manuel Campalans of Little Rock, John Marvin Russell of Hampton, Thomas Strawn of Murfreesboro, Johnny Stone of Nashville, and J. W. Walls of Murfreesboro.
