Raymon Ovay Faulkner
Mr. Raymon Ovay Faulkner, age 94, a resident of Umpire, Arkansas, died Thursday, March 29, 2018 at St. Michael's Health System in Texarkana, Texas.
Mr. Faulkner was born June 6, 1923 in Umpire . He was a World War II Army veteran and was a member of the Umpire Holiness Church. He enjoyed gardening, NBA Basketball and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sybil Jean Faulkner; his parents, William D. and Pearl Seals Faulkner; two sons, Jimmy Faulkner and Kenny Ray Faulkner; three sisters, Alice Smith, Ivol Keith and Myrl Dyer and four brothers, Doyce Faulkner, Kelsey Faulkner, Harold Faulkner and Odell Faulkner.
He is survived by his son Paul Faulkner of Dierks; three grandchildren, Jason Faulkner, Megan Tollett and Kip Faulkner; five great-grandchildren, Rex Faulkner, Lincoln Faulkner, Briseis Faulkner, Alex Faulkner and Camilla Tollett and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Faulkner will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 2, 2018 at Umpire Holiness Church with Steve Green and Don Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery, under the Direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Saturday, March 31st at the funeral home in Dierks.
Mrs. Darlene Kesterson
Mrs. Darlene Youngblood Kesterson, age 78, a resident of De Queen, died Thursday, March 29, 2018, in the CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System, Texarkana, Texas.
She was born to William Jerry Youngblood and Minnie Wyant Youngblood on August 16, 1939, in Hannibal, Missouri. She was a school teacher for 43 years retiring from the De Queen School District. She attended church at the Grannis Baptist Church and later in life she enjoyed watching the Shephard’s Chapel Network. She enjoyed cross stitch, quilting, flowers such as ferns and violets, her students throughout the years and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her son, Clint.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Jeffery Kesterson
She is survived by her son, Clint Todd Kesterson of De Queen, Arkansas; three brothers, W.T. Youngblood and his wife Cathy of Mena, Arkansas, Gaylen Youngblood and his wife Claudette of Gillham, Arkansas, and Gerald Youngblood of Horatio, Arkansas; four sisters, Dorothy Bruce and her husband Giles of Mena, Arkansas, Irene Stiles and her husband Bill of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Olive Chambers and her husband Sherrel of Mena, Arkansas, and Joyce Coffman and her husband Larry of Mena, Arkansas; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation to Tonya Martinez, Julie Perez, Robert Taylor, Glenda Mowry, Kaye Wade and the many other wonderful caregivers of Mrs. Kesterson over the past years.
Funeral services for Mrs. Darlene Kesterson will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 31, 2018, in the First Baptist Church of Gillham with Bro. Shane Haarmeyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Wickes, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 30, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., at the funeral home.
Jay William Seaman
Jay William Seaman age 61 of Grannis, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018 in Grannis.
Jay was born on May 22, 1956 in Onida, South Dakota to Edward Seaman and Lois Ontjes Seaman. He was happily married to Linda Thomas Seaman. He worked as a truck driver and mechanic by profession and then sold truck parts for Bakers. Above all he loved God and his family especially anything his grandchildren were involved in, for they were his pride and joy. He loved playing the bass guitar and music for his church and family. Jay was a loving and kind husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Linda Thomas Seaman of Grannis, Arkansas; a daughter, Tina Kesterson and husband Travis of Grannis, Arkansas; 3 Grandchildren: Tessa, Ty, and Taylar Kesterson of Grannis, Arkansas; his siblings: Jolene Depew and husband Doug of Navarre, Florida, Jerry Seaman and wife Wilma of Huron, South Dakota, Jim Seaman of Pierre, South Dakota, Jarvis Seaman and wife Mary Lou of Valley Center, Kansas, Janel Fye and husband Larry of Black Hawk, South Dakota, and Julian Seaman and wife Roberta of Emporia, Kansas; Numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Lois Seaman, and a brother, John Seaman.
Memorial service will be Friday, April 6, 2018 at Cove Revival Center in Cove at 9:00 a.m. with Brother Reggie Fryar officiating under the direction of the Beasley Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
Family and friends will have a Celebration of Jay’s life and are encouraged to bring instruments to play in honor of Mr. Seaman at Revival Center Fellowship Hall in Cove from 12:00-3:00 p.m. following his Memorial service.
Michael Clark Dykes
Mr. Michael Clark Dykes, age 73, a resident of De Queen, died Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Baptist Health in Little Rock, Arkansas.
He was born July 18, 1944 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He graduated from St. Paul’s High School in Covington, Louisiana. He was selected as a Parade All-American football player in 1961-62 school year. After graduating from high school, he played college football and years later he was inducted into St. Paul’s Athletic Hall of Fame. On March 14, 1968, he married the love of his life, Sharon Scoggin. In 1970 he graduated from SAU and began his teaching career in Nashville, Arkansas, as a teacher and football, basketball, and track coach. In 1974 the family moved to De Queen and he taught science and coached football and track for 3 years. Mike owned Dykes Sporting Goods for 9 years, then returned to education, teaching school in Saratoga for 3 years, before returning to De Queen High School in 1989 to teach chemistry and physics. In the 2003-04 and 2004-05 school years he received the University Of Arkansas Department Of Chemical Engineering Distinguished High School Mentor Award. He genuinely loved his students, and many of them have stayed in touch throughout the years. After retiring in 2006, he enjoyed yard work and spending time with his grandchildren, whom he adored.
In the 1970’s he was instrumental in forming the De Queen Optimist Club and was on the Board of Directors of De Queen Little League. Mike was a Christian and attended First Baptist Church in De Queen.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Alice Clark Dykes and one brother, Pat Dykes.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharon Dykes; three sons and daughters-in-law, Damon and Stephanie Dykes of Peachtree City, Georgia, David and Fawn Dykes and Freddy and Rhia Dykes all of De Queen; one brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Gwen Dykes of Mandeville, Louisiana; one sister-in-law, Ann Dykes of Covington, Louisiana; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ken and Deb Young of Nashville, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Drew, Abby, Ashley, Will, Dylan, Danielle, and Nate Dykes and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services for Mike Dykes will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Center Point Cemetery in Center Point, Arkansas with Bro. Glen Green officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, March 30th at the funeral home.

Clema Sue Aist
Sue Aist, 79, of Conway, passed away on Tuesday, March 20th in Dallas. She was born Clema Sue Melton on July 30,1938 in Briggsville AR to Opal and Mary Melton. Grandma Sue met her husband to be, Art Aist, in Little Rock as an employee of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She went on to work at Hendrix College and the University of Central Arkansas, retiring as an administrative assistant to the Dean of the College.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 54 years, a brother, Lonnie Melton, and a grandson, Connor Aist. Survivors include three children, Karen (Keith) Moix, of Greenbrier, Mike (Kay) Aist of Cabot, and Marty (Rhonda) Aist of Conway, a sister, Kay (Dennis) Duggan of De Queen, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 31st at 10am at Grace United Methodist Church, 1075 Hogan Lane, in Conway. Memorials should be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis. Cremation arrangements under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen, Arkansas.
Kenny Joe Flemens
Kenny Joe Flemens, age 63, a resident of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord, Monday, March 19, 2018, at 10:36 p.m. in Springdale, Arkansas.
Kenny was born on November 4, 1954, in Watseka, Illinois. Kenny graduated High School in Nashville, Arkansas. In October 1974, he went to boot camp at the Naval Training Center in San Diego, California, beginning his 20 year service in the U.S. Navy. Kenny traveled the world, loved sports, road trips, nature, and socializing. The greatest thing his loved ones will miss is his outgoing, funny, positive, thoughtful and reliable friendship.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Flemens and Edwina Goss Floyd.
Kenny is survived by one son, Kevin Flemens of San Diego, California; one daughter, Rachel Flemens of Eureka Springs; one brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Cathy Flemens of Leesburg, Ohio; two grandchildren, Kevin and Gloriann Flemens, both of San Diego; cousins, Rhonda Mullen and Sandra Halter as well as a number of other cousins, nieces and other relatives.
Funeral services for Kenny Joe Flemens will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 24, 2018 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen with Bro. Don Embry officiating. Burial will be in the Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego.
Mrs. Evelyn Byers
Mrs. Mary Evelyn Dodds Byers, age 83, a resident of Richland, Missouri, died Sunday, March 18, 2018 in Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was born to Fred Russell and Vondal Opal Crisp Dodds in Dierks, Arkansas, on October 25, 1934.
She retired from Waynesville Schools as Food Service Director, as well as a homemaker. She loved her Lord and was a member of the Church of Christ. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and cherished the time spent with her family. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed crocheting, traveling, and collecting bird figurines. Her beautiful eyes and loving smile will be missed by all her family and those whose lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Paul Alan Byers.
She is survived by her husband of over 63 years, Louis A. “Tuffy” Byers, Sr., two sons and daughters-in-law, Louis A., Jr. and Tammy Byers, David and Debbie Byers, a daughter and son-in-law, Wanda Gail and Edward Zielonka, a brother and sister-in-law, James and Patsy Dodds, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Kay and Jerry Chenoweth, and Joyce and Nick Short, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Evelyn Byers will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, March 23, 2018, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Foster Krudwig officiating. Burial will follow in Valley Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen, Arkansas.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 22, 2018 in the Chandler Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
