Glen Dale Murry
Mr. Glen Dale Murry, age 79, a resident of Gillham, Arkansas, died Friday, February 23, 2018 in Ashdown, Arkansas.
He was born September 28, 1938. He was a retired supervisor for Tysons and was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Mr. Murry was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Hershel and Floy Scott Murry; and a brother, Charles Murry.
He is survived by his wife, Daisy Johnson Murry of Broken Bow; one son and daughter-in-law, Heath and Christie Murry of De Queen; one daughter, Idela Murry of Kilgore, Texas; two grandchildren, Hanna Murry and Rachel Hockaday; one sister, Betty Hinton of Winthrop, Arkansas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Donna Murry of Winthrop and Tommy and Carolyn Murry of Winthrop; two step sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Susan Claborn of Wright City, Oklahoma and Danny and Barbara Roberts of Broken Bow; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Private memorial services for Mr. Murry will be held at a later date.
Vera Lavell "Dockie" (Gardner) Forbes
Mrs. Vera Lavelle “Dockie” (Gardner) Forbes, age 86, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas, died Friday, February 23, 2018, at Dierks Health and Rehab.
She was born June 11, 1931, in Pike City, Arkansas. She was a former hairdresser and business owner and a member of the Westside Church of Christ.
Mrs. Forbes was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Wilma (Head) Gardner; a daughter, Linda Mounts, a brother, Tamper Gardner and three sisters, Marie Gilleylen, Eunice Lingo and Lucille Cross.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Forbes of Dierks, a daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Steve Lites of Dierks, a son-in-law, Terry Mounts, of Dierks; three grandchildren, Kerry McBride of Dierks, Chad Lites of De Queen and Narissa Whisenhunt of Hot Springs, nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and special friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Forbes will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 25, 2018, at Westside Church of Christ in Dierks with Robert Peek and James McRae officiating. Burial will follow in Dierks Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, February 24th at the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in Dierks.
William Aubrey "Sonny" Helms
Mr. William Aubrey “Sonny” Helms, age 78, a resident of Provo, Arkansas, died Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Mine Creek Nursing and Rehab in Nashville.
He was born July 14, 1939 in Nashville, Arkansas to Marvin William and Clarene Sherman Helms.
Mr. Helms was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Marvin Helms, Jr. and one sister, Sheryl Helms Eudy.
He is survived by two sisters, Betty Teat of Irving, Texas and Linda Harper of Sheridan, Arkansas; five brothers and four sisters in-law, Billy Jack and Vera Helms of Ashdown, Arkansas, Mickey Helms of Provo, Derrel and Jackie Helms of Lockesburg, Arkansas, Terry and Debbie Helms of Provo, and Kem and Anita Helms of Provo; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services for Mr. Helms will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 19, 2018, in the McHorse Cemetery with Bro. Jerrel Helms officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen, Arkansas.
Donna Darlene Bowden
Mrs. Donna Darlene Goforth Bowden, age 75, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Friday, February 16, 2018, at her home.
She was born July 24, 1942, in Bates, Arkansas. She was a teacher’s aide, nurse’s aide, and caregiver to her “special child”, Beau Anthony Hughes.
Mrs. Bowden was preceded in death by her parents, Rafel and Morene Campbell Goforth and her husband, Jack Bowden.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Trini Bowden of De Queen; one daughter, Brenda Wedehase and companion, Vernon Parks of Holly Beach, Louisiana; one sister, Arlene Goforth of Visalia, California; one grandson, Patrick Wedehase and wife, Amy of De Queen; two great-grandsons, Logan Wedehase and Aidyn Cruz Gomez; two great-granddaughters, Cambree and Brynleigh Fromme; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Danita Lynn Honea
Danita Lynn Honea, age 56, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Wednesday, Feb 14th at her home.
She was born to Vince Ray and Peggy Jean Rumph Honea in McKinney, Texas, on September 27, 1961. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her mother, Peggy Honea of De Queen, five daughters, Christina McKibbin of Marshall Town, Iowa, Emily Vise of Poteau, Oklahoma, Jeniffer Honea of Newton, Iowa, Laura Drennom and Elizabeth Drennom both of Marshall Town, Iowa, two sisters, Donna Lacy of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Delina Hill of Horatio, Arkansas, two brothers, Douglas Honea of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Doyle “Wayne” Honea of Gautier, Mississippi, and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be announced later. Cremation under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Robert Newton Smith
Robert Newton Smith, 88, of Haworth, Oklahoma, passed to his heavenly home on Monday, February 12, 2018. Robert was born May 15, 1929, in Boswell, Oklahoma, to Ray Smith and Kate Balch Smith. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and four sisters.
Robert was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the United States Army. He enjoyed calf roping, horse trading and ranching. Robert was retired from the Sevier County Road Department.
His memory will be forever cherished by his wife of 37 years, Helen Smith; his kids, Robert Dale Wright and wife Lavonna of De Queen, Arkansas, Donna Dorsey and husband Billy of Haworth, Oklahoma, Connie Crawford and husband Russ of Longview, Texas; grandsons, Blake Dorsey of Haworth (who was Papa's best bud and the apple of his eye), Robert Lorance and wife Laura of Redwater, Texas, David Lewis and wife Cherie of Redwater, Texas; Mark Lorance and wife Kristi of Rome, Texas; granddaughter, Stephanie Harven and husband Cliff of Fouke, Arkansas; great grandson, Tanner Lorance of Redwater; one sister, Leota McKinney of Andrews, Texas, and a number of nieces and nephews; a special niece, Rhonda Lincoln of Haworth, who called and checked on her uncle Robert daily, and niece, Patsy Madley of Ft. Worth, Texas, who always stayed in touch with her uncle Robert.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at Cerro Gordo Cemetery in Cerro Gordo, Arkansas at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 17, 2018, with Ray Brown officiating.

Majorie "Big Moma" Allen
Mrs. Majorie “Big Moma” Allen, age 82, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas, died Wednesday, February 14, 2018, in Howard Memorial Hospital.
She was born on March 4, 1935, in Dierks. She was a poultry farmer for 32 years and attended Mt. View Baptist Church and Assembly of God Church.
Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Hazel Stokes Wilson; her husband, Marlin Allen, Sr.; one brother, Herman Wilson; one sister, Bonnie Glover; and one son, Ray Allen.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Marlin Allen, Jr. and Carolyn Allen and Randy and Tamara Allen all of Dierks; one daughter and son-in-law, Thresa and Michael Thomas also of Dierks; one sister, Bennie Lockwood of Clarksville, Arkansas; one daughter-in-law, Sharon Allen of Dierks; nine grandchildren, DeWayne Allen, Donnie Allen, Mike Allen, Karen Kitchens, Brandon Jackson, Justin Allen, Cathren Smith, George Thomas and Gracie Thomas and a number of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Allen will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 16, 2018, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in Dierks with Henry Bateman and Ray Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Greens Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 15th at the funeral home chapel in Dierks.
