Roy Lee Baughn
Roy Lee Baughn, age 66, resident of Lockesburg, died Monday, March 3, 2003 in De Queen Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 7 in Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J.L. Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Lockesburg cemetery.
He was born Oct. 10, 1936 in Kansas; and was a truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Mae Chandler Baughn; one son, Dwayne Baughn of Arizona; three daughters, Jan Holmes of Benton, Lisa Johnson of De Queen and Belinda Baughn of Horatio; one brother, Melvin Ray Baughn of Elsmore, Kan.; one sister, Cleta McKinney of Missouri; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 6 at the funeral home.
Alfred I. Sheppard Jr.
Alfred I. Sheppard Jr., age 81, resident of Benton, died Tuesday, March 4, 2003.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Ashby Funeral Home Chapel at Benton with Rev. Carl Ritchey officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park.
He was born Jan. 2, 1922 in Sheridan to the late Alfred I. And Cora Sheppard Sr.; was a retired pipe fitter at Alcoa; a CPO in the Navy; a member of Mason Westwood #353; a member of Scottish Rite of Freemasonry; and a Baptist.
He is survived by three daughters, Sunny, Carol Allen and Sharon Leigh Witham, both of Benton, and Susan Gail Burt of Horatio; five sisters, Virgie Kerr of California, Margie Edgins, Lucille Guerrieri and Neoma McAllister, all of Benton, and Jane Turbyfill of Maumelle; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Shelli LaRayne Bishop
Shelli LaRayne Bishop, age 40, resident of Fayetteville, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003 at her home.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 4 in University Baptist Church in Fayetteville with Dr. H.D. McCarty officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home and Crematory of Fayetteville.
She was born Dec. 25, 1962 in Ashdown to Earl Edward and Darline Bristow Altenbaumer; attended Baylor University and the University of Arkansas before graduating with a bachelor degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Oklahoma; was a member of the Arkansas Physical Therapist Association and University Baptist Church in Fayetteville where she was active in children’s ministries.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Bishop of Fayette-ville; a daughter, Taylor Marie Bishop of Fayetteville; a son, Grant Edward Bishop of Fayetteville; her parents, Earl and Darline Altenbaumer of Alleene; two brothers, Terry Altenbaumer of Houston, Tex., and Mike Altenbaumer of Texarkana, Tex.; one sister, Phyllis Tabler of Ashdown; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held Tuesday, March 4 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville.

Homer William Priddy
Homer William Priddy, age 88, resident of Montrose, Calif., died Wednesday, June 18, 2003 in Montrose.
He was cremated and a memorial service will be held in Arkansas in the fall.
He was born Jan. 22, 1915 in Gillham to George and Etta Mae Brown Priddy; during World War II he was employed by the U.S. Defense Plant in Philadelphia; them worked as a logger in the timber industry in Arkansas, Colorado and Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Priddy; three daughters, Margaret Morgan, Judy Deltondo and Lillie (Dinkey) Moore, all of Montrose, Calif.; one son, Danny Priddy of Naples, Tex.; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Minnie Mae Loyd
Mrs. Minnie Mae Loyd, age 81, a resident of Grannis, died Tues., June 24, 2003 in the De Queen Regional Medical Center.
Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thurs., June 26 in the Baker cemetery with Rev. Chris Burke officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
She was born July 15, 1921 in Grannis to Walter and Annie Cook Heaton. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baker Rock Church and attended the Wickes Pentecostal Church of God.
She is survived by seven sons: John Loyd, Duayne Loyd, Gary Loyd and Odell Loyd, all of Wickes; Donnie Loyd, Bill Loyd and Udell Loyd, all of Grannis; two daughters, Jerry Burch of Waco, Tex. and JoAnn Calicoat of Atoka, Okla.; five sisters: Bonnie Cartwright of De Queen; Lela Cannon of Shelton, Wa.; Joy Rose of Wickes, Emaline Garver of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and Maxine Matthews of Dallas, Tex. and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Marie Wynn James
Mrs. Marie Wynn James, age 92, of Conway, Arkansas, and a longtime resident of Little Rock, died Thursday, February 6, 2003 in the Conway Regional Medical Center.
She was born on January 29, 1911 in Howard County, Arkansas to John T. and Lucy L. Watson Wynn. She was a homemaker. While living in Little Rock she attended the Temple Baptist Church. After moving to Conway, she and husband Denzil, who preceded her in death in 1986, attended Central Baptist Church.
Mrs. James is survived by three sons: Lynn James of Arlington, Texas, Ferrel James of Conway, Arkansas and Randall James of Beebe, Arkansas; six grandchildren: Mark James of Arlington, Texas, Adrian James of Little Rock, Arkansas, Stephanie Snelson of Beebe, Nicholas James of Beebe, David Barnwell of Kokomo, Indiana and Shannon Belanger of Keller, Texas; five great-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. James were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 10, 2003 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in Dierks with Rev. Loy Westbrook officiating. Burial will follow in the Wynn cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Wynn cemetery fund: C/0 1st National Bank of Howard County in Dierks.
Visitation was held Saturday, February 8 and Sunday, February 9, at the funeral chapel in Dierks.
Lola Mae Newberry
Mrs. Lola Mae Newberry, age 90, resident of Pittsburgh, Tex., died Sunday, June 15, 2003 in Pitts-burgh.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 18 in Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Dean Newberry Jr. and Rev. Faron Rogers officiating. Burial followed in Redmen cemetery.
She was born May 5, 1913 in Marietta, Tex., to Vester and Maggie Aster Womack; was a retired Nurse; and a member of First Baptist Church of De Queen. She was predeceased by her husband, Dean Newberry.
She is survived by three sons, H.D. Carpenter of Highlands, Tex., Bob Carpenter of Bay-town, Tex., and Ben Carpenter of Benbrook, Tex.; one stepson, Dean Newberry Jr.; one stepdaughter, Lavon Rhodes; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
William L. "Bill" Pippin
Funeral services for William L. "Bill" Pippin, 55, of New London, Texas were held at ten a.m., Thursday, July 3, 2003 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Darren Harlan officiating. Burial followed in the Lakewood cemetery, Henderson, Texas. Mr. Pippin died Saturday, June 28, 2003 at his home in New London.
He was born to Vincent and Pauline Burriss Pippin, May 21, 1948 in Denver, Colorado. Mr. Pippin was a member of the Church of Christ and a mechanic for East Texas Oilfield Service. He served our country in the Vietnam War.
Mr. Pippin is survived by his wife, Barbara Pippin of New London; his chil-dren, Rodney Pippin of Oklahoma, Chad Mason Pippin of Gillette, Montana, Charles Robert Baker of New London, Linda Marie Pippin of Hominy, Oklahoma, Rhonda Gil Cody of Horatio, Arkansas, Sarah Pauline Gibson of New London, Billie Jo Pippin of Hominy, Oklahoma, Ronald Dewayne Newton of Horatio, Ar-kansas, William Kayle Anderson of New London, Zachary Vincent Anderson of New London, and Matthew Joshua Glenn Anderson of New London; two brothers, Larry Pippin of Columbia, Missouri, and Donnie Pippin of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; two sisters, Linda Keener of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Carolyn Adams of Ardmore, Oklahoma; thirteen grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His parents and a sister, Patricia Ragan, preceded him in death.
The family received friends Wednesday evening between six and eight p.m.
Kennedy Dawn Meek
Kennedy Dawn Meek, infant daughter of Clint and Angela (Minton) Meek, Lenexa, Kans., died Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at the Shawnee Mission Medical Center, Merriam, Kans.
Funeral services were 1 p.m., Sat., June 14 at the Community Christian Church, 4601 Main, Kansas City, Mo. with burial in the Resurrection cemetery, Lenexa, Kans., under the direction of the Amos Family Chapel. Visitation was 6-8:30 p.m., Friday at the Amos Family Chapel of Lenexa. The family requests contributions to be made to the church.
She was born April 1, 2003 at the Overland Park Regional Medical Center. She is survived by her parents and sister, Kamrei Michael, all of the home; paternal grandparents are Pam Smith, Lenexa, Kans. and Dwight Meek, Lake City, Fla.; maternal grandparents, Linda and Vern Brown, Ottawa, Kans. and Curtis Minton, Paola, Kans.; great-grandparents, Bernard Esarey, De Queen; Betty and Troy Messer, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Violet Minton, Lenexa, Kans. and Marion Meek, Ft. Myers, Fla.; and a number of aunts and uncles.
Corene Kesselring
Corene Watson Kesselring, age 74, of Van Buren, died Mon., June 30, 2003 at Ft. Smith.
Funeral Services were 1 p.m. Thurs., July 3 at Edwards Van-Alma Chapel, with interment at Ft. Smith National cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.
She was born in the Greens Chapel Community in Sevier County near Dierks to Hoyt and Althea Watson on Aug. 7, 1928. She was a retiree of the Oklahoma State Department of Health in Oklahoma City, Okla.
She is survived by her husband, George M. Kesselring of the home; a daughter, Brenda J. Rumley, of Warrensburg, Mo.; two sons, Randall G. Kesselring of Jonesboro and Gary L. Kesselring of Des Moines, Ia.; a brother, Thurman Watson of Euless, Tex.; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
