Douglas C. Hall
Douglas C. Hall, 70, of Littleton passed from his earthly home and entered into glory on December 29, 2017 after a courageous and hard fought battle with cancer.
The fourth of five boys, Doug was born February 19, 1947 in Athens, Arkansas to Robert and Elsie (Perrin) Hall. He was a graduate of Horatio High School in Horatio, Arkansas. After graduation, Doug married the love of his life Jerri (Leeper) Hall and soon moved to south Louisiana where he began his career in the Oil and Gas industry. Doug was quickly identified as a hard worker and a man of integrity, attributing to his 41 years of service, numerous corporate awards, and long lasting friendships which he developed throughout the years.
Above all, Doug was a loyal servant of God and demonstrated his commitment and love for the Lord in so many areas of his life. He was not only a member of Riverside Church in Denver but also served as Trustee and Deacon for many years. Doug’s true passion for serving the Lord was in the area of volunteering. He drove seniors to various activities and enjoyed sharing in God’s love with them. He also used his physical strength to build churches and camps so that others may have the opportunity to know the Lord as he did. Doug had a huge heart and God undoubtedly used it to his advantage to share his word!
Anyone who knew Doug also knew of his love for camping in his RV. And he loved doing his favorite thing with his favorite people, his family and closest friends. Whether in Arizona, California, Colorado, or his most treasured spots in Yellowstone, Doug enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors and meeting fellow campers. He not only appreciated the destination but Doug also treasured the journey as he always loved to drive and soak in the feeling which the open road provided him. This was representative of the way Doug lived as he always seized the moments to enjoy the people and places around him.
Doug’s other great passion was sports. For years he was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and had attended multiple races around the country. If he was not in attendance in person, then he certainly was in attendance in his favorite chair.
Doug’s greatest love was for his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Doug was known as “Poppa” to his biggest fans, his five grandchildren, who he infinitely loved and adored. When his health allowed, he never hesitated to go for a walk, push a swing, or enjoy some “Poppa” time on a camping adventure. Big or small, young or old, family and friends of Doug never questioned his loyalty and love. His love, strength, humility, and amazing sense of humor were unmatched and, while leaving a void, will also leave behind a beautiful and never ending legacy through the memories which he created. Doug was dearly loved and will forever be missed.
Doug is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jerri (Leeper) Hall; Three Children, Kimberly (Pete) Hall-Grunewald of Bossier City, LA, Douglas “Bo” Hall Jr. of Denver, and W. Kyle (Veronika) Hall of Highlands Ranch; Five Grandchildren, Abbigail Grunewald, Madeline Grunewald, Ty Hall, Lia Hall, Blake Hall; Three Brothers, James (Dorothy) Hall, Lemuel Hall, and Roger (Nola) Hall; Sister-in-law, Joyce Hall; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will all remember Doug with great love and admiration.
