Marvell Jean Lambeth Wolcott

Mrs. Marvell Jean Lambeth Wolcott, age 85, a resident of De Queen, died Sunday, October 29, 2017, in De Queen.

She was born March 16, 1932, in De Queen. She was a homemaker and a member of the Beacon Hill Seventh Day Adventist Church in De Queen.

Mrs. Wolcott was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Ola Lambeth; her husband, Charlie Wolcott; one son, James Daryl Wolcott and one sister, Dot Wolcott.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, John and Sharon Wolcott of Bella Vista, Arkansas; one brother, James Lambeth of Florida; two granddaughters and their spouses Jenni and Jamie Massengill of Edmond, Oklahoma and Johnna and Josh Quinn of Bella Vista, Arkansas and five great-grandchildren, Lakyn and Charly Caye Massengill and Hannah, Canaan and Micah Quinn.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wolcott will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 4, 2017, in the Beacon Hill Seventh Day Adventist Church with Newman Hance officiating. Burial will follow in Beacon Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

James Lloyd Jamison

Mr. James Lloyd Jamison, age 82, a resident of Foreman, Arkansas and formerly of Gillham, Arkansas passed away Monday, October 30, 2017, in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born December 02, 1934, in Levelland, Texas. He was an electrical engineer at Ash Grove Cement for 35 years. Mr. Jamison was a Methodist, past president of Tex/Ark Antique Auto Club and MOTAA, and a member of Pate Swap Meet. He was also a United States Air Force Veteran and served during the Korean conflict.

Mr. Jamison was preceded in death by his parents, James Edgar “Ford” and Effie Marie Rader Jamison; one son, Jeff Jamison; and one grandson, Jeffrey Jamison.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janice Nielsen Jamison; two daughters, Jamie Rayburn and husband Jon of Taylor, Arkansas and Abby Jamison of Foreman; two sons, Tim Jamison and wife Natalee of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Terry Jamison of Cabot, Arkansas; one brother, Gerald Jamison and wife Pat of Stockbridge, Georgia; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Jamison will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 4, 2017, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Robert Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Gillham Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, November 3rd at the funeral home in De Queen.

Mrs. Violet Hedrick

Mrs. Violet Corine Sharp Hedrick, age 89, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Thursday, October 26, 2017 in the Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana.

She was born to T. D. and Hyacinthe McLeod Sharp in Lockesburg, Arkansas on November 7, 1927. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Horatio, and was retired from Knod’s Wholesale Grocery, where she was an accountant. She enjoyed flowers, and gardening, and she cherished the time spent with family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Randy Hedrick, and all her siblings, Everett Sharp, Frankie Pickett, Marie Underwood, Ruby Johnson, Athel Sharp, and Gene Sharp.

She is survived by a granddaughter, Mindy and her husband, Charles Ogden of Texarkana, Texas, three great-grandchildren, Luke Ogden, Stephen and Audrey Ogden all of Texarkana, Texas, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Violet Hedrick will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 28, 2017 in Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, De Queen, Arkansas. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until service time. Burial will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Texarkana, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Andrew Shane Griffin

Andrew Shane Griffin entered this world on February 23rd, 1999 and made his way to Heaven on October 21st, 2017. Drew leaves to cherish his memory his parents Shane and Sandra Griffin, a sister and brother-in-law, Brooke and Blake Toye.

His aunts, uncles and cousins:

Dennis, Logan and Mykenzie Jones
Danny, Natalie and Fallon Jones

Grandparents:
Calvin and Kathy Griffin of Horatio, Arkansas and Jackie and Jo Ann Jones of Dierks, Arkansas.

Drew was working with Artex Electric of Texarkana, Arkansas in the National Electrical Apprentice Program associated with UA Cossatot to proceed his career as a Journeyman Electrician.

He was 2017 graduate from Horatio High School. Drew was a member of the 2016 Horatio Lion 3A State Baseball Championship Team where he assisted his team as the starting short stop and one of the teams pitchers.

Drew spent his childhood in the woods with and in the water with his Dad, Papaw’s and buddies chasing bucks, ducks and big ole flatheads. He was raised with a passion for the outdoors and learned many lessons in Pond Creek and on the banks of Little River and Saline River.

He respected his elders, was a quiet, kindhearted, humble young man that had a vision he told only a few. Drew had a great passion for baseball, hunting, fishing and mostly comradery for his friends and his sister.

Visitation will be held on Friday October 27th, 2017 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen, Arkansas. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 28th, 2017 at 2:00pm at Horatio Baptist Church. He will be laid to rest in Old Center Cemetery in Central Community of Horatio, Arkansas under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Drew’s Forever Fund at Horatio State Bank.

Mathis Cordell Cleghorn

Mr. Mathis Cordell “Matt/Shot” Cleghorn, age 73, a resident of Foreman, Arkansas, died Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at his home surrounded by family.

He was born April 19, 1944, in Alleene, Arkansas. He was a retired millwright for Domtar, a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Foreman, a 32nd degree mason and Past Master of the Rocky Comfort Lodge #468.

Mr. Cleghorn was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin John “F.J.” and Mary Alice Mason Cleghorn; one grandson, Matthew Stewart; one brother, Thomas Marvin Cleghorn; two sisters, Norma Jean Cleghorn and Gwendolyn Cleghorn and two great-granddaughters, Delayia Woods and Marley Woods.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Ruth Golden Cleghorn; two sons and daughters-in-law, Frankie and Becky Cleghorn of Marietta, Oklahoma and Tommy and Lynnell Cleghorn of Foreman; three daughters and sons-in-law, Tessa and Eric McIntyre of Nevada, Missouri, Kathy and Calvin Gauldin of Foreman and Kari and Stacy Laminack of Haslet, Texas; 28 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, a special niece, Linda Gregory and a number of other nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Cleghorn will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 27, 2017, in the Gravelly Cemetery with Trent Liggin and Brad Sullivan officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 26th at the funeral home.

Nelda E. Clay McPherson

Mrs. Nelda Elizabeth Clay McPherson, age 87, a resident of Arlington, Texas, died Wednesday, October 25, 2017, in Arlington.

She was born March 3, 1930, in Paraclifta, Arkansas. She was a Baptist and a homemaker.

Mrs. McPherson was preceded in death by her parents, Joel Washington and Mary Leta McKellar Clay; her husband, Homer McPherson; and six siblings.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Stan Lambert of Fort Worth, Texas, Phyllis and Mark Gonzalez of Arlington, Texas and Tracey and Gary Henson, also of Arlington; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marilyn Groves of Memphis, Tennessee and Melba Gore of Nash, Texas; two brothers, Wayne Clay and Alton Clay both of Lockesburg, Arkansas; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. McPherson will be at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, October 29, 2017, at Belleville Methodist Church in Lockesburg with Joel Clay officiating. Burial will follow in Belleville Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen, Arkansas.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00, Saturday, October 28th at the funeral home.

Mable Faye Hendricks Roberts

Mrs. Mable Faye Hendricks Roberts, age 89, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Monday, October 23, 2017, at her home.

Mrs. Roberts was born April 25, 1928, in De Queen, Arkansas. She was a nurse’s aide and a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Rosie Halter Hendricks; two sons, Steven Eugene Roberts and Wayne Roberts; and one daughter, Elizabeth Louise Mulkey.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Alvin and Laurie Roberts of Nashville, Arkansas and Ricky and Glorie Gentry of Lorton, Virginia; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth Ann and Tommy Little of De Queen and Bonnie and Gary Guin of Shreveport, Louisiana; two sisters, Margaret Bishop of Splendora, Texas and Mary Fletcher of Houston, Texas; sixteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Roberts will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 26, 2017, in the Mt. Ida Cemetery with Rev. Tim Smallwood officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 25th at the funeral home.
