Kevin Quinonez
Kevin Quinonez, 25 of Dierks, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017 in Texarkana, Texas. He was born on October 14, 1992 in Jacksonville, Florida the son of Fred Quinonez and Nova Hill.
Kevin was a member of the First Christian Church in Nashville, and served his country as an United States Marine.
He was preceded in death by a sister Kayla Quinonez, a brother Sawyer Hill, and his grandparents Frank and Carol Quinonez.
Survivors include his father Fred Quinonez of Houston, TX; mother Nova Hill and husband Mark of Dierks, AR; two brothers Kameron Quinonez of Nashville, AR; Kolton Quinonez of Dierks, AR; a sister Kelli Quinonez of Nashville, AR; as well as a number of friends and other relatives.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 5pm-7pm at the First Christian Church in Nashville. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 2pm at the First Christian Church in Nashville, AR.
Jessie R. Simmons
Jessie R. Simmons went to be with his heavenly Father on Saturday, October 21, 2017.
He was born June 1, 1921 to Paul Holbert and Emmer Carter Simmons. He married Norma Sue Boyd on January 6, 1946. He was a member of the Church of Christ, worked for Weyerhaeuser for 32 years and was a World War II Army veteran.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Norma Sue Simmons; a grandson, Timothy Allen Sharp; his parents; two brothers and a sister.
He is survived by one son, Jessie "Sonny" Simmons of Glenwood, AR; two daughters and a son-in-law, Brenda Sue and Ronnie Archer of Lockesburg, AR and Hilda Dean of Nashville, AR; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Graveside funeral services with military rites will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday October 24, 2017, in Burg Cemetery with Robert Peek and Jerry Mounts officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen, AR.
Cody Dewayne Hardaway
Mr. Cody Dewayne Hardaway, age 32, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Thursday, October 19, 2017, in Little Rock, Arkansas.
He was born July 21, 1985 in Andrews, Texas, to Lloyd and Shannon Hardaway. Cody loved working with his hands. He enjoyed woodworking, welding, and anything mechanical, which led him to pursue certification as a diesel mechanic. He worked for years as a locomotive mechanic, and was always willing to lend a helping hand; anything to keep busy. He loved the outdoors, was an avid deer hunter and fisherman, and especially enjoyed riding and working on four-wheelers with his son, Haden.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ellis Lynn “Pete” Hardaway, his paternal step-grandfather, Cecil Carr; and one very special dog, Bud.
He is survived by his parents; his girlfriend, Jennifer Burge, and their son, Haden Hardaway, of Horatio; two brothers, one sister-in-law, two nieces, and nephew: Timothy and Casey Hardaway, and their children, Heidi and Lance, of Lockesburg, and Matthew Hardaway and his daughter, Erin, of Horatio; his maternal grandparents, Hazel and Leo Martin of Pickens, Oklahoma, and his paternal grandmother, Veebal Carr of Battiest, Oklahoma.
Funeral services for Cody will be held at 2:00p.m, Tuesday, October 24th 2017, at the First Baptist Church of Horatio. Burial will follow in the Clear Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00p.m. Monday, October 23, at the funeral home.
Mr. Robert Lowell "Bob" Hartley
Mr. Robert Lowell “Bob” Hartley of Wickes, Arkansas, died Friday, October 20, 2017 at his home.
Mr. Hartley was born January 27, 1946, to Windfield and Esther Hartley in Millfield, Ohio. He was retired from Tyson Foods – Grannis/ Broken Bow Complex, and former school bus driver for the Cossatot River School District. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family and friends. Bob was a veteran of the United States Army having served his country proudly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Eddy Hartley, three sisters, Clarmay Hartley, Dixie Walker, and Esther Eline Hartley, one niece, Becky Kunze, and nephew, Steven Hartley.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Charlotte Hartley of Wickes, Arkansas; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Terisia Hartley of Vandervoort, Arkansas, two daughters Leslie Reese of Mt. Vernon, Texas; Heather Andrews of West Monroe, Louisiana; three brothers, Lonnie Hartley of Meridian, Mississippi, Jimmy Hartley and wife Toni of Gahanna, Ohio; Gary Hartley and his wife Francis of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; two grandsons, Andrew Baxter, Connor Reese, two granddaughters, Whitney Hartley and Brittany Phillips and husband Nick, two great grandchildren, ReeAnna Caudill and Alayna Kyles, five nephews, five nieces and a number of friends and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mr. Bob Hartley will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, October 23, 2017 at the Church of the Nazarene in Wickes, Arkansas with Rev. Steve Bradley and Rev. Charles “Buzz” Lassiter officiating. Burial will follow in the Baker Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 P. M. at Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Willie Olen Chewning
Mr. Willie Olen Chewning, age 81, a resident of Foreman, Arkansas, died Thursday, October 19, 2017, in Texarkana, Texas.
He was born October 21, 1935 in Hodson, Texas. He was a Central Control operator for Ash Grove Cement Co., a cattleman and a member of the Winthrop Baptist Church.
Mr. Chewning was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Allen and Etta Mae Coats Chewning; two brothers, Merle Chewning and Jesse Leon "Man" Chewning.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Penney Chewning; two sons and daughters-in-law, Brad and Sandy Chewning of Haworth, Oklahoma and Robert and Cindy Chewning of Foreman; three grandchildren, Brandy Chewning, Amanda Chewning and Erin Chewning; one brother, Doug Chewning of Texarkana, Texas and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Chewning will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 23, 2017, in the Winthrop Baptist Church with Bro. Audie Dawson officiating. Burial will follow in the Campground Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Saturday, October 21st at the funeral home.
Freddy Wayne McDaniel
Freddy Wayne McDaniel, age 39, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Thursday, October 19, 2017, at his home.
He was born May 12, 1978 in Texarkana, Texas. He was employed at Wal-Mart.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Martha Roberts.
He is survived by his mother, Lela McDaniel of Idabel, Oklahoma; his father, Charles Wesley Franklin of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and his spouse, Ray Hall.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Robert M. Horn
Mr. Robert M. Horn, age 69, a resident of Ashdown, Arkansas, passed away October 19, 2017, at his home due to complications of Parkinson's disease.
Mr. Horn was born July 29, 1948, in Visalia, California to Aubrey and Francis Machen Horn. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. He had a major in business and accounting from East Texas University. He retired from Domtar Paper Mill as a Maintenance Supervisor, and was the former business owner of Nautilus Gym. Mr. Horn was named an Outstanding Young Man of America in 1982, loved the outdoors, an avid deer hunter, a member of the Lick Creek Hunting Club, and loved animals.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Billy Dean Horn, Al Horn, Richard Horn and Jim Horn; one sister, Betty Jo Hart; and one special dog, Quad.
Mr. Horn is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cheryl Callaway Horn; one brother, John Ed Horn of Mineral Wells, Texas; and his faithful and beloved dog LuLu.
A private memorial will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends and family at their home. Memorials may be made to the Ashdown Cemetery.
