Gaylon Don Sides
Mr. Gaylon Don Sides, age 65, a resident of Cherryhill, Arkansas, passed away Monday, September 11, 2017, at UAMS in Little Rock.
He was born July 10, 1952 in Farmersville, Texas to J.W. and Ivanell (Nell) Rhodes Sides.
Mr. Sides was preceded in death by his father and four of his children.
He is survived by his mother; five children; a number of grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Sides will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 15, 2017 in Redmen Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Donald Ray "Donnie" Vann
Mr. Donald Ray “Donnie” Vann, age 67, a resident of Gillham, Arkansas, died Saturday, September 9, 2017 at his home.
He was born on December 19, 1949 in Gillham, Arkansas. He was a retired logger, and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Edna Marie Tilson Vann, a son, Bobby Irvin, four brothers, Dale Vann, Phillip Vann, Eddie Vann, and a sister Susan Alene Vann.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Tomi and Craig Liles of Gillham, two sons, Jerry Dale McGhee of Texas, and Larry Lee McGhee of Lockesburg, four sisters-in-law, Kay and her husband Tony Liggin of Lockesburg, Judy Vann of Texas, Joyce Vann of Gillham, Arkansas, and Betty and her husband, Lloyd Robinson of Illinois, three brothers-in-law, Larry and his wife, Joyce Tilson, Gene and his wife, Beverly Hudlow all of Missouri, and Bobbie Tilson of Wichita, Kansas, and number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
A private memorial service will be at a later date. Cremation under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
George Clermont Williamson
Mr. George Clermont Williamson, age 59, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Monday, September 11, 2017, at his home.
Mr. Williamson was born April, 24, 1958, in De Queen, Arkansas. He was a former employee of Gra-Don and was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry H. Williamson, Sr.
Mr. Williamson is survived by his wife Martha Rolfe Williamson; his mother, Mildred Conatser of Horatio; one brother, Lando Williamson of Horatio; three sisters, Harriett Piper of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; twin sister, Millie McCain of McCaskill, Arkansas, and Gerri Krudwig of De Queen; five stepchildren; and three grandchildren.
Graveside funeral service for Mr. Williamson will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017, in the Clear Creek Cemetery with James McCain officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday the 13th at the funeral home.
Jack Bennett, Jr.
Jack Bennett, Jr. age 68, a former resident of Muncie, Indiana, died Sunday, September 10, 2017, at his daughter’s home in De Queen, Arkansas.
He was born November 26, 1948 in De Queen. He retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 32 years. He served as a Deacon at Christ Temple Global Ministries in Muncie. Mr. Bennett loved serving the Lord, fishing, working in his yard, being with his family, especially his grandchildren, helping at his church, watching Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts, and the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Bennett and Oline Nelson; three brothers, James Bennett, Sandy Bennett, and an infant brother; an infant sister; and a great granddaughter Sadie Walton.
He is survived by two daughters, Jackie Bennett of De Queen and Dawn Pegues of Grande Prairie, Texas; two sons, Anthony Bennett Sr. of Houston, Texas and Matthew Dante Bennett of Muncie; three brothers, H.J. Hendrix of De Queen, Melvin “Moon” Bennett of Muncie, and James (Maria) Bennett of New York; six sisters, Victoria (Bobby) Curly of Aurora, Colorado, Willie Bell Bowers of De Queen, Betty Neal of Ashdown, Arkansas, Rita Bennett of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Floy Armstrong (Brian), of Valliant, Oklahoma, Gloria Bennett of De Queen; Grandchildren, Martega (Mercedez) Walton of De Queen, Jalan Bennett of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Quinshaun Bennett-Hale of De Queen, Anthony Bennett, Jr. of Ashdown, Kameron Benton-Bennett of Houston, Ariana Bennett of Dallas, Texas, Don-Tez Young, Don-Quez Young, DunYae Lipscomb, and Donnie Young all of Grand Prairie, Texas, Mattaneeka Bennett of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Laionna Bennett, Lishai Bennett, Cash Bennett all of Muncie; Great-Grandchildren, Braeden Walton, Kaydence Walton, and Jaxon Walton of De Queen; four aunts, Elnora K. Scale of Muncie, Virginia Haynes of Atlanta, Georgia, Agnus Gilmore and Willie Boyles of De Queen; one uncle, Leroy Nelson also of De Queen; a special angel, Maria Shores of Muncie; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Bennett will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 16, 2017 in the New Zion Baptist Church in De Queen with Rev. Jesse Miller and Elder Richard Carr officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Family will receive friends Friday, September 15, 2017 from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

David Lee Byrd
David Lee Byrd, age 64, of Vandervoort, Arkansas, left to be with the Lord on Monday, August 21, 2017.
He is preceded in death by his mother, father, and one son, David Lee Byrd, II.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sandra Evans Byrd; his son, Kevin Byrd and wife Tracy of Tennessee; daughters, Peggy Byrd Dulinsky of Vandervoort, Amanda Byrd Dixon and husband Travis of Waldron; sons, Jason Byrd and wife Candace of Texas, Randy Byrd and fiancé Jami of Hot Springs; two brothers, Mike Byrd and Danny Byrd and one sister, Kathy Anderson, all of Tennessee; 11 grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren.
He was a great husband, Daddy, brother, PawPaw, Gramps, Gumps, and PopPop to us all.

Bobby Joe Ray
Mr. Bobby Joe Ray, fondly known to many by just “Louie”, passed from this earthly life on Tuesday, September 4, 2017 at his home surrounded by family.
Bobby was born January 8, 1936 to Harold “Hal” and Frances Florine Lichlyter Ray in Grannis, Arkansas, He attended Wickes High School, where he loved to dominate the basketball court, and earded the nickname, “Louie”. After high school, he joined and served one term in the U. S. Air Force. On September 19, 1969, he married his long time love, Betty Mae Jones. Bobby spent his life very quietly and humbly serving his church and community on numerous committees and outreach programs. One of his favorites was helping serve breakfast to the local De Queen High School athletes every Friday morning. He was a die hard Wickes Warrior Basketball fan, and would travel hours to watch and support them. The only thing he loved more was following his Allie girl around and supporting her in whatever sport she was playing at the time. Bobby was an independent truck driver and was leased to Frozen Food Express, until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by both his parents, his stepfather, Cecil Selman of De Queen and one brother, Jimmy Bethel of Wickes.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Jones Ray of almost 48 years of De Queen, two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Jayne Cole of Gillham, Arkansas, Kevin and Leslie Ray of De Queen, Arkansas, four grandchildren, Melinda, Dalton, Kolbie and Allie along with four precious great-grandchildren, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sue and Dave Dampier of De Queen, and Sandra Graham of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and a host of other family members and dear friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Bobby Ray will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2017 in the First Baptist Church of De Queen, with Bro. Jerry Hill and Bro. Dan Ford officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley Cemetery, Gillham, Arkansas, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Louise Hendrix McGaha
Mrs. Louise Hendrix McGaha, age 89, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Sunday, September 3, 2017, in Horatio.
She was born December 3, 1927, in Honey Grove, Oklahoma. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Horatio.
Mrs. McGaha was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert McGaha; her parents, Lewis and Mattie Thomas Hendrix; a son, Skip McGaha; a brother, Buck Hendrix, and a sister, Ester Belle Pettigrew.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Carrie McGaha of Horatio; a daughter, Debbie Robardey of Texarkana, Texas; a brother Tom Hendrix of El Dorado, Arkansas; nine grandchildren, Russell McGaha of Tennessee, Steven McGaha of Alabama, Jason McGaha of Texas, Kisha Mitchell of Colorado, Angela Stokes, Shelly Gentry, Courtney Bard, Megan Louise Nalley, and Ryker McGaha all of Arkansas; 17 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. McGaha will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday September 6, 2017 at the First Assembly of God in Horatio with John Gutierres, and Ralph Staggs officiating. Burial will follow in the West Otis Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at the funeral home.
