Emma Kay Lyle
Emerson Kay Lyle, age 8, a resident of Wickes, Arkansas, died Monday, August 28, 2017 in the Mena Regional Medical Center.
She was born on March 23, 2009 in Texarkana, Texas. She was a member of the Midway Pentecostal Church at Vandervoort, and she enjoyed make-up, fishing, hunting, dancing, playing dress-up, and music.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alwyn Lyon, Richard & Rena Terrell, Loyd Lyle, Tommy Williams, Cecil and Jessie Warren, as well as, a great-uncle, Marvin Williams.
She is survived by her parents: Chance and Kayla Lyle of Mena, Arkansas, and Whitley and Zachry Currence of Lockesburg, Arkansas, three sisters, Braylie Williams, and Gracelyn Currence both of Lockesburg, Arkansas, and Chloe Odom of Mena, Arkansas two brothers, Brycson Odom and Konner Odom both of Mena, Arkansas, her grandparents, Reggie and Donna Lyle of Wickes, Arkansas, Kirk and Cindy Williams, Lori and Toby Gathright, and Doug and Dawn Currence all of Lockesburg, her great-grandparents, Mary Brewer of Wickes, Lois Brown of Hayward, California, Jerry and Judy Pickett of Lockesburg, Carolyn and Arnold Parrish of Pinehurst, Texas, Betty Williams of Lockesburg, Kenneth and Betty Currence of Lockesburg, Louise Lyon of Horatio, and Kurt and Anita Farquhar of Lockesburg, her uncles and their spouses, Chad and Shawna Lyle, Clint and Kristi Lyle, Cortney and Amy Lyle, Chance Pearson, and Jaryd and Traci Lyon of Lockesburg, her aunts, Sierra Brown of Castro Valley, California, Stormie Huggins of Texarkana, Texas, Lana Lyon of Guthrie, Oklahoma, and MacKenzie and her husband Kenneth Fields of Lockesburg. Her Great-uncles and aunts, James and Shelley Pickett of Texarkana, Arkansas, Rusty and Fran Williams of Lockesburg, Kayla and Dennis Chandler of Ashdown, Arkansas, Dennis and Kara Currence of Lockesburg, and Tim and Beverly Lyon of Lockesburg.
Funeral Services for Emma Lyle will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 2:00 P.M., in the First Baptist Church of De Queen, with Bro. Billy Sullivan and Bro. Chad Lyle officiating. Burial will follow in the Coulter Cemetery, Lockesburg, Arkansas. Visitation will be on Friday, September 1, 2017 at the Jerry and Judy Pickett’s residence, 148 Shady Lane, Lockesburg, Arkansas beginning at 2:00 P.M.
Velma L. Winship
Mrs. Velma L. Winship, age 68, a resident of Idabel, Oklahoma, died Sunday, August 27, 2017, in Idabel.
She was born July 24, 1949 in De Queen, Arkansas. She was a bail bonds woman, had taught school at Haworth, Oklahoma, and also worked for Weyerhaeuser. She was a Christian.
Mrs. Winship was preceded in death by her parents, Walter E. Darity and Edna Virginia “Dutch” Darity.
She is survived by her sons, Kevin Winship of Eagletown, Oklahoma and Mark Winship of Las Vegas, Nevada; one brother Phillip Darity and wife Barbara of Eagltown; two sisters Patricia Jones and husband Jerry of Petal, Mississippi and Sharon Bohanan and husband Russell of Eagletown; her grandchildren and several nieces and nephews along with a host of friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Velma Winship will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the Eagletown Cemetery Pavilion with Ben Polson officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, August 29th at the funeral home.
Alice Marie Ruth Ford
Alice Marie Ford 81, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, passed away Friday evening, August 25th, 2017, at her home. Alice was born in De Queen, Arkansas on December 8th, 1935 to Isaiah and Beulah Ruth.
Alice is survived by one brother James Alfred Ruth and wife Bobbie, Sharon Kay Little of the home and Bertha Evonne Cox of De Queen, AR; a number of nieces and nephews, Great-nieces and Great-nephews, Great-grandnieces and Great-grandnephews; and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wyatt Frank Ford; her father Isaiah Francis Ruth and her mother, Beulah Leora (Burris) Ruth; Five brothers: Earnest, Lee, Henry, Albert, and Clarence; and Four Sisters, Elizabeth, Opel, Mae, and Velma.
Visitation for Alice Marie Ford will be on Monday, August 28, 2017, from 5:00-7:00 pm in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel at Forever Memories Funeral Services, Inc., Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Apostolic Faith Church, Sallisaw, Oklahoma with Brother Brian Duke and Bill Weeks officiating. Burial will follow in the Dwight Mission Cemetery, Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Casket bears will be Richard Ruth, Joe Sparks, Aaron Padgett, Jamie Fargo, Jerry Taylor, and Dave Marr.

John Rodger Hutchison
Mr. John Rodger Hutchison, age 64, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed from this life Friday, August 25, 2017 at De Queen Medical Center in De Queen.
He was born to William Chester and Myrtle Ruth Hume Hutchison, Sr. at De Queen, Arkansas on December 4, 1952. He was a carpenter and enjoyed hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Steve Hutchison.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons and daughters-in-law, Holt and Bonnie Hutchison of Fort Sumner, New Mexico and Randy and Brie Hutchison of Leander, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Angie and Aaron Best of San Antonio, Texas and Kara and Ryan Pelking of Greenville, Texas; eighteen grandchildren, Emmarie, Lilly, Tanna, Tori, Felicity, Courtland, Archer, Branson, Mattisin, Kylie, Taylor, Alexis, Taylor, Trayce, Hopella, Michael, Kasey, and Grayson; one great-grandson, Braxton; three brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Linda Hutchison of Delight, Arkansas, Thomas and Sandra Hutchison of De Queen, and David and Susan Hutchison of Decatur, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Jimmy Birdsong of Millerton, Oklahoma; as well as, a number of nieces, nephews, other family members, and a host of friends.
Memorial services for Mr. John Hutchison will be announced at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Angela Faye Stewart
Mrs. Angela Faye Stewart, age 44, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Wednesday, August 23, 2017, in Nashville, Arkansas.
She was born June, 8, 1973, in De Queen, Arkansas, to Clifton Wilson Norwood, Jr. and Lillie Faye Moon Norwood. She was the assistant manager at Exxon in De Queen and a member of Faith and Deliverance Center in De Queen.
Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Katelen Shyann Parson and two sisters, Betty Kimmel and Peggy Norwood.
She is survived by her husband, James Stewart; one son, Drew Powell of De Queen; one daughter Courtney Parson of Lockesburg; three brothers, John Allen Norwood of Lockesburg, James Edward Norwood of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Danny Andrew Norwood of Glenwood, Arkansas; four sisters, Bonnie Kathleene Hulburt and Pattie Ann Talley, both of Glenwood, Helen Elizabeth Burgess of Bonnerdale, Arkansas and Cindy Annette Becerra of De Queen; two grandchildren, Remington Tugman and Pasiley Tugman; a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Angela Stewart will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 26, 2017, in the Lighthouse Church in Lockesburg, Arkansas with Buster Dellinger and Patrick Grant officiating. Burial will follow in Belleville Cemetery in Lockesburg, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, August 25th at the funeral home.
Ivy Franklin Roberts
Mr. Ivy Franklin Roberts passed from this life on August 22, 2017 while residing at the Dierks Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Dierks, Arkansas.
He was born on May 3, 1925 in the community of Central located near the town of Horatio, Arkansas. His parents were Ollie J. Roberts and Lillard E. (Rich) Roberts.
His siblings preceding him were a sister Flora Belle Roberts (Fair) and a brother Ottis Warren Roberts.
He resided most of his life in Horatio and was married to the late Neva Juanita (Willis) Roberts. He and Juanita had one son, James W. Roberts. Ivy was a retired timber worker and saw mill owner. He was an avid sports enthusiast and outdoors man. He loved hunting and fishing, and was a strong supporter of his Dallas Cowboys and Arkansas Razorbacks sports teams.
He is survived by his son James W. “Jim” Roberts and wife Rita of Madison, Alabama; grandson Franklin DeWayne “Wayne” Roberts and wife Joy; and great grandson Jack Oliver Roberts of Richmond, Virginia.
Ivy was a decorated Navy veteran of World War II having seen combat action in Saipan, Tinian, Marianas and Marshall Islands and the invasion of Iwo Jima.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Friday, August 25, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM for a Celebration of Life.
Graveside services will be at the Clear Cemetery near Horatio at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 26, 2017 with Jimmy Roden and Jerry Don Roberts officiating.
Dorothy Virginia Harvey Stainton
Mrs. Dorothy Virginia Harvey Stainton, known to many as “Dot Dot” age 89, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Monday, August 21, 2017, at her home.
She was born August 31, 1927, in Jonesboro, Arkansas to L.C. and Alma Falls Harvey. In 1947 she married Bill Stainton of Prescott, Arkansas. She was a retired Junior High School Science teacher, in her former years she was a member of Sevier County Genealogy Society, a Girl Scout Leader and a member of Chapter B, P.E.O. She was also a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school.
Mrs. Stainton was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William G. "Bill" Stainton; her son, William G. Stainton, Jr. and one brother, Bud Harvey.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Trey Wilkerson of De Queen, and Ginger and Jimmy Moore of New Boston, Texas; two sisters, Anne Mauldin of Ames, Iowa and Sue Defender of Bainbridge Island, Washington; six grandchildren, Julie Stainton Post, Katy Wilkerson Brewer, Sarah Wilkerson Casteel, Chip Wilkerson, Jim Moore and Mary Moore Wheeler; 11 great grandchildren; one aunt, Hattie Collins of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Stainton will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 25, 2017, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Cloninger officiating. Burial will follow at De Ann Cemetery in Prescott, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Chip Wilkerson, Jim Moore, Mike Post, Larry Brewer, Doug Casteel and Brandon Wheeler.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m.-2:00 p.m., Friday, before the service.
