Melvin "Blue" Dewaine Weiler

Mr. Melvin "Blue" Dewaine Weiler, age 54, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Monday, August 21, 2017 at his home.

He was born to Paul Vincent and Joyce Ann Martin Weiler at Perryville, Missouri on May 12, 1963. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Blue leaves to cherish his memory, two brothers, Steve Weiler and Susan Fennell of Broken Bow, Oklahoma and Leslie Weiler of De Queen; a sister and brother-in-law, Dana and Donald Curtis of De Queen; four nieces Christy and Jeff Murphy of De Queen, Courtney Weiler of Mt. Ida, Arkansas, Jessica and Randy Barnett of Horatio, and Hope and Doug Durgin of De Queen; two nephews, Patrick Key of de Queen and Jeremy Key of De Queen; as well as a number of other family members and a host of friends.

Memorial services for Mr. Blue Weiler will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 24, 2017 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen with Bro. Jack McCullough officiating. Cremation and Memorial services are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Mrs. Virgie Maurine Lambeth

Mrs. Maurine Clements Lambeth, age 96, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Bear Creek Healthcare.

She was born to Napolean and Dovie Gore Clements in Sevier County, Arkansas, on August 10, 1921. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of the Beacon Hill Seventh Day Adventist Church. Maurine enjoyed reading, puzzles, bird watching, but most of all, she adored her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Earl Lambeth; one son, Keith Lambeth, and two daughters, Sharon Haycraft, and Virgierene Lambeth.

Maurine leaves to cherish her memory, two sons and daughters-in-law, Cleve and Wanda Lambeth of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Clem and Shirlee Lambeth of Little Rock, Arkansas; two daughters and a son-in-law, Wanda Kaye Juhl of Red Lick, Minnesota and Jackie and Johnny Pogue of De Queen; a sister, Geraldine Folsom of Nashville, Arkansas. She also leaves to cherish her memory, a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, as well as, a number of nieces, nephews, other family members, and a host of friends and church family.

Memorial services for Mrs. Maurine Lambeth will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 26, 2017 in the Beacon Hill Seventh Day Adventist Church in De Queen, with Pastor Newman Hance officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Memory of Maurine Lambeth to the Children’s Diabetes Foundation, 4380 S. Syracuse Street, Suite 430, Denver, CO 80237, www.childrensdiabetesfoundation.org. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Fred Wilkerson

Fred “B. Bud” Wilkerson, Jr., age 91, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Thursday, August 10, 2017 in De Queen.

B. Bud was born October 20, 1925 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of De Queen and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He attended the University of Arkansas and was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity.

He graduated from Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science in 1945 and went on to own and operate Wilkerson Funeral Home with his family. He was the 1997 recipient of the Arkansas Funeral Director of the Year award and “retired” in 1998. Although retired he still worked and served the community until his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred, Sr. and Evelyn Leard Wilkerson; his wife, Martha Sue Proctor Wilkerson; one son, Marc Wilkerson; a granddaughter, Kelly Wilkerson; and a sister, Jacqueline Lyons.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Trey and Cindy Wilkerson and Scott and Marian Wilkerson; five grandchildren and their spouses, Katy and Larry Brewer, Sarah and Doug Casteel, Beth and J Hargrove, Rusty and Terri Wilkerson, and Chip and Shannon Wilkerson; 8 great grandchildren, Reagan Wilkerson, Jacie Wilkerson, Sydney Casteel, Garrett Parker, Samantha Wilkerson, Hannah Wilkerson, Tate Wilkerson and Carsyn Hargrove; one niece and one nephew.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2017 in the First United Methodist Church with Bro. Mark Cloninger and Bro. Jason Carlton officiating. Burial will follow in the Redmen Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 13th at the funeral home.

Angelina Aguilar Hernandez

Mrs. Angelina Aguilar Hernandez, age 58, a resident of De Queen, died Monday, August 7, 2017 in the De Queen Medical Center, De Queen.

She was born in Calantulario, Mexico on July 20, 1959, to Tomas Aguilar and Raymunda Veron Benitez. She was a Tyson Food Employee in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, and a member of St. Barbara’s Catholic Church.

She enjoyed planting flowers, cooking, baking bread, her parakeets, and her fish, but most of all, she cherished the time spent with family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her husband of almost 30 years, Bartolo R. Hernandez of De Queen, a son, Javier Aguilar Hernandez of De Queen, three daughters and two sons-in-law, Araceli Hernandez and Adrian Landa, Marisol Aguilar Hernandez, and Erica Hernandez and Jonathan F. Torres of De Queen, her mother, Raymunda Veron Benitz of Mexico; five brothers, Jacinto Aguilar Veron of California, Roman Aguilar Vernon, Saul and Rene Aguilar Veron all of Mexico, Augstin Aguilar Veron of California, two sisters, Estela Aguilar Veron and Teresa Aguilar both of Mexico, Grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass for Mrs. Angelia Hernandez will be on Saturday, August 12, 2017_at 3:00 P.M. in St. Barbara’s Catholic Church with Father Juan Manjarrez officiating. Burial will follow in Redmen Cemetery. A Rosary and will be at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church at 6:00 P.M. Friday, August 11, 2017, with visitation of follow until 9:00 A.M., Saturday, August 12, 2017.

Mr. Thomas Abraham Thomas

Mr. Thomas Abraham Thomas, age 75, a resident of Cove, Arkansas, died Friday, August 4, 2017, at his home surrounded by his closest loved ones.

He was born June 3, 1942, in Prescott, Arkansas. He was retired from Delta Airlines, but a true carpenter at heart. He was a fun loving and witty true Razorback fan. He was always calling the Hogs. He loved taking care of his family and all the good times he had with them. He will be deeply missed.

Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey W. and Ola Rene Winfield Thomas and a brother Howard Thomas.

He is survived by two daughters, Donna Thomas Crawford of Acorn, Arkansas, and Trina Thomas Schulze of Cove; a sister, Jane Thomas of Cove; six grandchildren, Trent Thomas, Sasha Echols, Latrisha Beaty, Lonnie Crawford, Tabitha Schulze, and Valorie Schulze; and several great grandchildren.

Memorial services for Mr. Thomas are pending. Cremation arrangements by Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen, Arkansas.

Mr. Reuben Walter Beck

Mr. Reuben Walter Beck, age 62, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Monday, August 7, 2017 in Houston Texas Hospital.

He was born to Raymond Walter and Marie McKee Beck in De Queen, Arkansas on November 16, 1954. Reuben served in the military with the U. S. Navy, and was a postal rural mail carrier. He was a member of the Williamson Community Church, and enjoyed traveling, scuba diving, photography, gun practice, but most of all, Reuben cherished the time spent with family, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife of almost 45 years, Rhonda VanVoast Beck of De Queen, one son, David and Denise Beck of De Queen, two daughters and a son-in-law, Christy Hicks of De Queen, and Dana and Mark Eason of Lockesburg, five grandchildren, Kayla Hicks, Aaron Hicks, Denali Beck, Danielle Beck, and Paige Eason, his mother, Marie Shaw of De Queen, a brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Meriweather Beck of Olive Branch, Mississippi, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Bob Green of Little Rock, and Paulette and Leon Voss of Crossroads, Arkansas, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 2:00 P.M., in the Williamson Community Church, Horatio, Arkansas. Visitation will be Monday, August 14, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Mrs. Dorothy Hobbs

Mrs. Dorothy Faye House Hobbs, age 78, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Saturday, August 5, 2017 at her home.

She was born to Ocie Lee and Era Electra Britt House at Ashdown, Arkansas on September 20, 1938. She was a nursing assistant, and enjoyed sewing, camping, cooking, canning, and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Cecil Hobbs; a great-grandson Dakota VanHoose; a son-in-law Lee Von Gilbert; four brothers Bill House, G.W. House, Howard House, and Allen House; three sisters Georgia Stinson, Gladys Mauldin, and Betty Gentry.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters and son-in-law, Celia and Wayne Montgomery of De Queen and Linda Gilbert of De Queen; four grandchildren, Lavonda Icenhower, Wendy VanHoose, Trevor Montgomery, and Tara Montgomery, all of De Queen; five great-grandchildren, Dalton, Garrett, Cody, Dylan, and Hunter; two great-great-grandchildren, Declan and Blade.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Hobbs will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 8, 2017 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Rusty Ross officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery, De Queen. Visitation will be held Monday, August 7, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Hobbs are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen.
