Charles Henry Wright

Charles Henry Hunter Wright, age 75, resident of Concordia, Kan., died Monday, June 30, 2003.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 3 in Concordia Wesleyan Church. Burial followed in Oakland Union cemetery, rural Miltonvale.

He was born Aug. 2, 1927 in Starr Township, rural Miltonvale; worked for Fall Creamery and Metz Co.; drove for Meadow Gold; owned the Curve Inn Café at Glasgow; and retired from the Kansas De-partment of Transportation in 1995. He was predeceased by his wife, Lillie Mae Wright in 2001.

He is survived by two sons, Charles M. Wright of Beloit, Kan. and Marvin R. Wright of Concordia, Kan.; one daughter, Aleta Ellis of Concordia, Kan.; five sisters, Rose Vosburg of Salina, Kan., Sherylin Kay Nolin of Olathe, Kan., Twila Faircloth of De Queen, Sonja Wright of Jamestown, Kan., and Sara Merick of Salem, Ore.; one brother, Lloyd Wright of Gladstone, Ore.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Solomon Valley Hospice.

Metta Parsons

Metta "Maw Maw" Parsons, age 98, of Athens, died Wednesday, July 9, 2003.

She was born on December 4, 1904, at Baker Springs, the daughter of Richard Davis and Mary Watkins Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lundy Parsons; her son-in-law, Russell Seals; and her grandson, Donnie Seals.

She was a member of the Trinity Free Holiness Church. After forty-two years, she retired as a public school teacher.

She is survived by her daughter, Myrtle Seals of Athens; her two granddaugh-ters, Beverly Bigot and Gail Seals, both of Athens; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 13, 2003 in the Athens Free Ho-liness Church with Bro. Dale Crawford, Bro. Donny Vaughn, Bro. Bill Weeks, and Bro. Sammy Cottrell officiating.

Interment was in the Athens cemetery, with arrangements under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.

Visitation was Saturday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Pallbearers were Tim Pugh, Jeff Pugh, Randall "Bo" Pugh, Ricky Don Seals, Brian Pounds, and Mo Walston.

Honorary pallbearers were Maurice Manasco, Wayne Davis, Tommy Manasco, Terry Scott, Richard Ruth, Billy Don Weeks, Jr., Bob Seals, Flenoia Manasco, Reece D. Manasco, Russell Yandell, and Scotty Bigot.

Judy Yates

Mrs. Judy Pate Yates, age 56, resident of De Queen, died Sunday, July 6, 2003 in RHD Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 10 in Cove Revival Center with Bro. Benny Parks officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Grove cemetery, under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena.

She was born Nov. 15, 1946 in Mena to Dallas and Mildred Porter Pate; was a homemaker; and at-tended Cove Revival Center. She served as secretary of the Women of Construction in Nashville; was staff member for the Mayor of the City of Nashville, Tenn.; was administrative assistant to the director of the Red Cross in Dallas; a board member and secretary of the Timber Producers Association; and an officer of Chips Inc. She was predeceased by her father.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Yates of De Queen; and her mother, Mildred Pate of Cove.

The family received visitors from 12 noon until 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 8 and Wednesday, July 9 at the funeral home.

Omah Taylor

Omah Gladys Taylor, 91, past resident of Morris, died in Muskogee on Sunday, July 20, 2003.

Mrs. Taylor was born in Sevier County, Arkansas on March 18, 1912 to G. W. and Addie E. (Johnson) Hull. She was retired from St. John's Hospital after 20 years of employment and moved to Morris, Oklahoma. She has lived in Muskogee for the past five years, where she was a member of the Eastern Heights Baptist Church. Her parents, her husband, and fifteen brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth, and husband, Rev. David Kelley, of Muskogee, Oklahoma; two granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were on Thursday, July 24, 2003 at 9:30 a.m. at the Eastern Heights Baptist Church in Muskogee. Rev. Billy Smith officiated. Burial was in the Bellville cemetery in Lockesburg, Arkansas at 4 p.m. Thursday under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Visitation was on Tuesday and Wednesday until 8 p.m., at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee.

Jacqueline Eleanor Marsh

Jacqueline Eleanor Marsh, age 76, resident of Nashville, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003 in Texarkana, Tex.

A memorial service was held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2 in the Church of Christ in Lockesburg, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home of Nashville.

She was born April 9, 1927 in Miami, Fla., to the late Harry and Velma Henderson Woodruff; was a Licensed Practical Nurse; and a member of The Lord’s Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Earl Wayne Marsh; and two sisters, Murle Fessenden of Shelby, Mi., and Renee Beaumont of El Paso, Tex.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Marsh of Nashville and Thomas Wayne Sanderson of Hemet, Calif.; one brother, John Woodruff of Iowa; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation was from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1 at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.

Eugene Hilton

Mr. Eugene Harold Hilton, age 87, a resident of Winthrop, died Thursday, September 25, 2003 at his home.

He was born February 27, 1916 in Leslie, Arkansas. He was a re-tired chief warrant officer in the U.S. Navy having served in World War II, a former employee of Sherman Williams Paint Company and Red River Army Depot and a member of the Winthrop First Baptist Church.

Mr. Hilton was preceded in death by his parents: John Douglas and Florence Ragsdale Hilton.

He is survived by his wife: Berneice Taylor Hilton; one daughter and son-in-law: Wanda Jeane and Carl Kelso of California; two sons and daughters-in-law: Harold Wayne "Rusty" and Vicki Hilton of Winthrop and Steve Keith and Geri Hilton of Prescott, Arkansas; one step-son and daughter-in-law: Ronnie E. and Branda Tyson Sr. of Groves, Texas; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Hilton were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 27, 2003 in the First Baptist Church in Winthrop with Rev. Audie Dawson officiating. Burial followed in the Campground cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

The family received friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, September 26 at the funeral home.

John Glasgow

John Bonar Glasgow, age 32, a resident of Anchorage, Alaska, died Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at his home.

He was born August 27, 1971, in Jackson, Mississippi. He was a student at the University of Alaska and attended the Anchor Park Methodist Church in Anchorage.

He was preceded in death by his father: Joseph Leland Glasgow; his son: Joseph Bonar Glasgow; his grandparents: John Leland and Venus Martindale Glasgow and Edrie and Ralph Bonar; and his uncle: David Charles Bonar.

He is survived by his daughter: Jordan Elise Glasgow of Anchorage; his mother: Jeanne Bonar Glasgow of Anchorage; his sister: Leslie Ann Glasgow of Anchorage; his brother: David Leland Glasgow of New Orleans, Louisiana; his nephew: Ian Matthew Glasgow of Anchorage; his aunt and uncle: Mary Dale and Billy Coulter of Lockesburg; his aunt: Judy Bonar; three cousins: Joe Coulter, John Coulter, and Ann Coulter Clemans; his former wife: Debra Frances Baker; and step-daughter: Jamie Lee Pender.

Funeral services for John Bonar Glasgow were held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, September 28, 2003 in the First United Methodist Church in Lockesburg with Rev. Lynn McClure officiating. Burial followed in the Redmen cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family received friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Saturday, September 27, 2003 at the funeral home.

Donny Sutton

Donny Wayne Sutton, age 32, a resident of Lockesburg, died Tues-day, September 23, 2003 in Lockesburg.

He was born October 20, 1970 in Ft. Ord, California. He was an asphalt machine operator for Sutton Paving.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Foy and Floatie Sutton and Leo and Elouise Graham; and one sister: Cheri Ann Sutton.

He is survived by his father and step-mother: Bill and Jirl Sutton of Lockesburg; his mother and step-father: Brenda Lee and John Harmon of Oregon; three brothers: Joe Sutton and Wade Sutton, both of Lockesburg, and Bob Sutton of Oregon; one sister: Beverly Nicholas of Lockesburg; two step-sisters: Dawn Harmon and Angie Harmon, both of California; one step-brother: John Harmon, also of California; five adopted brothers and sisters: Chris Harmon, Damon Harmon, Bryce Harmon, Abby Harmon, and Mack Harmon, all of Oregon; and his fiance: Lisa Grubbs of Lockesburg.

Graveside funeral services for Donny Wayne Sutton will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2003 in the Oddfellows Section of Lockesburg cemetery with Rev. Charles Jones officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Bryan McKellar

Mr. Bryan McKellar, age 95, a resident of Ben Lomond, Ark., died Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at his home.

He was born January 15, 1908 in Lockesburg, Ark., to Robert Lee and Lillian Lee Deal McKellar. He was a retired shipping foreman for Gunter Brothers Lumber Company and a member of the Ben Lomond Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife: Ester Harrison McKellar of Ben Lomond; a son and daughter-in-law: Bill and Terry McKellar of Texarkana, Arkansas; a brother: Frank McKellar of Lockesburg; a sister: Lois Gore, also of Lockesburg; and two grandchildren: Scott and Alexis McKellar.

Funeral services for Mr. McKellar were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2003 in the Ben Lomond Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Donald Bowman and Jerry McKellar officiating. Burial followed in the Ben Lomond cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home, De Queen.
