Joye Fern Manasco
Mrs. Joye Fern Manasco, age 79, a resident of Umpire, Arkansas, died Friday, August 4, 2017, at her home.
She was born May 24, 1938, in Umpire. She was a retired school teacher, a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, enjoyed singing, gardening, cooking, and playing the piano.
Mrs. Manasco was preceded in death by her parents, W. T. and Bessie Kirby Strasner and her husband, James Flenoia Manasco.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Todd and Anissa Manasco and Jason and Amanda Manasco, all of Umpire; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Beth and Rick Patterson of Van Buren, Arkansas; one sister, Jessie Pendergrass of Umpire; six grandchildren, Logan and Hannah Patterson, Tanner and Haley Manasco and Chloe and Tyler Manasco; her caregivers, Hattie Vance and Dana Vance; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Manasco will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 7, 2017, in the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Umpire with Don Fortner, Don Vaughn and John Henry Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 6th at the funeral home in Dierks.
Ms. Rebeca Ruvalcaba
Ms. Rebeca Ruvalcaba, age 69, a resident of De Queen, died Thursday, August 3, 2017 in the Christus St. Michael Hospital, Texarkana.
She was born to Leovijildo Ruvalcaba and Refugio Romero in Tlaltenango, Zacatecas, Mexico on August 17, 1947. She was a seamstress, had worked for Pilgrim and Beard Poulan, as well as a homemaker. She was a member of t. Barbara's Catholic Church and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking, sewing, gardening, flowers, and she cherished the time spent with family.
She was preceded in death by her mother, and two grandchildren, Ivonne Ramirez and Elizabeth Ramirez.
She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Alfredo and Maria Ramirez, Ruben Gustavo and Myrna Ramirez all of De Queen, Ernesto Daniel and America Ramirez of Nashville, Arkansas, and Osvaldo and Maria Ramirez of De Queen, a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Ruben Lerma of de Queen, her father, Leoviildo Ruvalcaba of Levelland, Texas, seven brothers and sisters-in-law, Ulderico and Margarita Ruvalcaba of De Queen, Joe and Alvina Ruvalcaba, Jamie and Adriana, Leo Jr. and Laura Ruvalcaba, Jose Ruvalcaba, Ernesto and Lisa Ruvalcaba, Carlos and Adela Ruvalcaba all of Levelland, Texas, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Daniel Mendoza and Norma and Jorge Castillo all of Levelland, Texas, thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass for Ms. Rebeca Ruvalcaba will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, in St. Barbara's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Redmen Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen, Arkansas. A Rosary and visitation will be held at St. Barbara's Catholic Church from 7:00P.M. Friday, August 4th until service time.
Bobby Ray Bell
Mr. Bobby Ray Bell, age 62, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at his home.
He was born October 6, 1954, in Mena, Arkansas.
Mr. Bell was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Christopher and Opal Shaw Bell and one son Dane Bell.
He is survived by his wife Andrea Hernandez Bell; one son and daughter-in-law, Darin and Lisa Bell of Little Rock, Arkansas; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Billy and Cindy Bell of De Queen, Roger Bell of Mobile, Alabama; and David and Elizabeth Bell of El Centro, California; three stepsons, Roberto and Merle Reyna Hernandez, Juan Carlos Sandoval, and Johnathan Hernandez all of De Queen; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Christine Vertiz of Horatio, Arkansas, Linda and Alton Bowden, Barbara Gaylord, and Jennifer Bell all of De Queen; four grandchildren, Galvin Bell, Dexter Brady, Havin Brady and Emily Sandoval; one great-great grandchild, Stella Grace Brady; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Bobby Bell will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 6, 2017, in Old Piney Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, August 5th at the funeral home in De Queen.
Frances Evelyn Kerr Smith
Mrs. Frances Evelyn Kerr Smith, age 68, a resident of Gillham, Arkansas died Tuesday, August 1, 2017 in Dallas, Texas.
She was born April 23, 1949, in De Queen, Arkansas. She drove a school bus, was a mail carrier, worked at Wal-Mart for over 30 years and attended Almond Church.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Dixie Ward Kerr; three brothers-in-law, James Henry Russell, Harold Edward Beckwith and C.W. Brown and one sister-in-law, Carolyn Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Don Smith; two daughters and a son-in-law, Rhonda and John Carrier and Donna Golliher; three grandsons, Corey Carrier and wife Tanna, Caleb Carrier and Brett Brady; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Sue and James Acklen and Betty Jo Russell; nephews, Kenneth Acklen, James David Russell and wife Mary, Kelly Joe Russell and wife Shauna and Shawn Dale Beckwith and wife Tonya; one niece, Crystal Acklen; three brothers-in-law, Mike Smith, Ronnie Smith and wife Susan and Ricky Smith and wife Connie and one sister-in-law, Sandy Smith.
Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 5, 2017, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Steven Chenoweth and Jerry Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Valley Cemetery.

Lottie Bishop Overton
Lottie Bishop Overton, age 100, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017 in De Queen, Arkansas.
She was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on September 10, 1916 to the late Clarence Bishop and Florence Northcutt Bishop. Lottie was a member of the De Queen Methodist Church. She and her late husband, Max, were the owners of the Western Auto in Mena, Arkansas for 31 years.
Lottie was preceded in death by her husband Max D. Overton, Her parents, Florence C. Northcutt and Clarence C. Bishop, three brothers, Clarence C. Bishop, Jr., Floyd Bishop, Frank "Bob" Bishop, and one sister, Hazel Reynolds and one son-in-law, Romie C. Ray.
She is survived by a daughter, Charlotte L. Ray of De Queen, Arkansas; 2 grand-daughters, Kisha Devasier and husband Kevin of Dierks, Arkansas and Kim Conley and husband Joe of Frisco, Texas. Four great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Graveside service will be Saturday, August 5, 2017, at Pinecrest Memorial Park at 3:00 p.m. under the direction of the Beasley Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
Mrs. Magel Dean Cannon House
Mrs. Magel Dean Cannon House, age 87, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Wednesday, August 2, 2017 in Texarkana, Texas.
She was born November 29, 1929 in De Queen. She was a homemaker, enjoyed gardening and quilting and attended Geneva Missionary Baptist Church. She raised four generations of kids, including grandchildren, great grandchildren and neighborhood children.
Mrs. House was preceded in death by her parents, James Henry and Minnie Parkerson Cannon; her husband, Kenneth Ross House; one son, Jimmy House; two daughters, Dorthy White and Virginia Ann House; and her brothers and sisters, Will Cannon, James Cannon, Edward Cannon, Earl Cannon, Verna May Smith, Louise Peek and Theo Cannon.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Pam House of Rogers, Arkansas; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Marilyn Morris of Gillham, Arkansas, Peggy and Ben Bramlett of De Queen and Kathy and J.D. Price of Hallsville, Texas; one daughter-in-law, Jenny House of De Queen, 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren; her caregiver, Sherry Grant; a number of nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. House will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 4, 2017 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Travis Lane and Chet Brake officiating. Burial will follow in the Crosstrails Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 3rd at the funeral home.
Amon Bearden
Mr. Amon Bearden, age 85, a resident of Amarillo, Texas, died Tuesday, July 25, 2017, in Amarillo.
He was born February 21, 1932, in Dierks, Arkansas. He worked in AD&M Oil Mill for over 30 years, loved to play bingo and dominoes and spend time with his family and friends. Amon was a good father, grandfather, father-in-law and friend. He will be missed by all.
Mr. Bearden was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Gertrude Chambers Bearden; one brother, Bloomis Willis and one sister, Willie Mae Rollins.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Curtis Harris of Amarillo; two sons, Damon Bearden also of Amarillo and Brian Bearden of Lubbock, Texas; one brother, George Bearden of Arkansas; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Clara Willis of Arizona and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services for Mr. Amon Bearden will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 5, 2017, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen, Arkansas, with James McRae officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery in Umpire, Arkansas.
