Kathy Jean Sappington
Mrs. Kathy Jean Morris Sappington, age 62, a resident of Grannis, Arkansas, died Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at her home.
She was born to Windle Herbert and Doris Mae Miller Morris in Tulare, California on April 29, 1955. She had worked for the Salvation Army in De Queen, as well as a homemaker. She was a Baptist and enjoyed fishing, barbequing, and her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Freddy Sappington, Sr., and her siblings, Don Morris, Debbie Keoppe, and Linda Hahns.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Freddy and Margaret Sappington of Grannis, a daughter, Kimberly Chandler of Gillham, seven grandchildren, Tristan Sappington, Summer Sappington, Autumn Sappington, Lindsey Suggs, Shawn Suggs, John Bata and Joey Bata,
a sister, Joyce Delorme of Tulare, California, a brother of Steve Morris of South Carolina, and a number of nieces and nephews.
A private memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Mr. Donald Bradshaw
Mr. Donald Ray Bradshaw, age 61, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, and former resident of Salt Lake City, Utah, died Monday, July 17, 2017 in the UAMS Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.
He was born to William Henry and Glow Dell McIntyre Bradshaw in De Queen, Arkansas, on December 9, 1955. He was a 1973 graduate of Lockesburg High School. He was a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church. He was supervisor of Pipe Line Welding crew, and later in heavy construction. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, tinkering with machines, but most of all, he cherished the time spent with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, a brother, Bobby Bradshaw, and a great-grandchild, Kaidynce Bradshaw.
He is survived by three sons, Robert Barnhill, Donny Bradshaw, and Stanley Bradshaw, all of Murphy North Carolina, his mother, Glow Dell Bradshaw of Lockesburg, eight grandchildren, Anthony Bradshaw of Marble, North Carolina, Stanley Bradshaw, Jr., Brittany Bradshaw, Jackie Bullock, all of Salt Lake City, Utah, Abigail Barnhill and Hannah Rose Bradshaw both of Murray, Utah, Bobby Faulkner and Victoria Faye Gavel both of Murphy, North Carolina, two great-grandchildren, Kamdyn Bradshaw and Ambria Bradshaw both of Marble, North Carolina, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Alice Bradshaw, and Roy and Wendy Bradshaw both of Lockesburg, a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Cleatis Kitchens of Lockesburg, a sister-in-law Wanell Bradshaw of Lockesburg, a number of nieces and nephews, as well as other family members and a host of friends.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Donald Bradshaw will be held on Thursday, July 20th at 11:00 A.M., in the Old Union Cemetery with Bro. John Lindsey officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 19th from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
O. L. Lofton, Jr.
Mr. O. L. Lofton, Jr., age 85, a resident of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, died Saturday, July 15, 2017 at his home.
He was born May 1, 1932 in Dierks, Arkansas. He worked for Weyerhaeuser for 37 years, and was a superintendent at the Craig Plant. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Broken Bow.
Mr. Lofton was preceded in death by his parents, O.L. Lofton, Sr. and Callie Ethel Murray Lofton; his wife Betty Jo Davis Lofton; a sister, Mildred Cothren; and a brother, Thomas Lofton.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Marsha Lofton of De Queen, Arkansas; one daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Roger Holley of Atoka, Oklahoma; one brother, Kenneth Lofton of Dierks; one sister, Mary Lee of Athens, Texas; three grandchildren and their spouses, Jason and Cindy Lofton, Lindsey and Patrick Kelley, and Clay and Esma Holley; 10 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Lofton will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 18, 2017, in the First United Methodist Church of Broken Bow with Oscar Wilkie and Roger Holley officiating. Burial will follow in the Hochatown Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, at the First United Methodist Church in Broken Bow.

Kenny Shane Dockery
Mr. Kenny Shane Dockery, age 43, a resident of Gillham, Arkansas, died Thursday, July 13, 2017, in De Queen, Arkansas.
He was born March 7, 1974, in De Queen. He was a carpenter and enjoyed hunting, fishing, working, and spending time with his family and friends.
Shane was preceded in death by his mother, Diane Allison Davis; and his brother, Tommy Cockrell.
He is survived by his “Pop”, Bobby Davis of Gillham; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Steven and Callie Davis also of Gillham and Johnny Cockrell of De Queen; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Dawn and Ricky Taylor of Sorrento, Florida, Kimberly Yates and Erica Melton both of Grannis, Arkansas, a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, July 17, 2017, at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Cremation will follow.
Hazel Burris-Walker
Mrs. Hazel L. Burris-Walker, age 97, a resident of De Queen, and former resident of Horatio, Arkansas, and Broken Bow, Oklahoma, died Monday, July 10, 2017 in Bear Creek Healthcare, De Queen, Arkansas.
She was born to Albert and Janie Bass-Burris in Sevier County, Arkansas, on September 25, 1919. She was a Christian and attended St. John Baptist Church in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. She was a devoted, wife, homemaker, and enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and sold eggs raised from free range hens. She was a generous lady who cared deeply for family and friends enjoying the times spent together.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Earl Burris, and Richard Burris, and her husband, Willie Walker.
She is survived by two nephews, Dr. Clifton F. (Donna) Burris of Gary, Indiana, and Earl (Carolyn) Burris of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, two nieces; Linda (Burris) Smith and Brenda (Ricky) Young of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, and a foster niece, Bonita Gaffney-French of Horatio, as well as other family members, her care givers, and a host of friends.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Hazel Burris Walker will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 22, 2017, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel. Mary "Nancy" Copeland
Mary "Nancy" Copeland, 72 year old resident of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, died July 10, 2017 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born July 30, 1944 in Union, Arkansas to Jesse Ray Copeland and Ruth Franks Copeland.
She graduated from Salem High School in Salem, Arkansas in 1962. Nancy earned her Bachelor's, Master's and Doctorate degrees from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She worked as an educator for over 30 years. Nancy was appointed by former Governor and President Bill Clinton to help set policy and standards for teacher's certification for public schools in the state. She wrote numerous grants for the public school system through the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation. Nancy was a member of First United Methodist Church in Siloam Springs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, and a great nephew, Dylan Thurman. She is survived by one brother, Jack Copeland and wife Glenda of Colcord, Oklahoma; two nephews, Randy Copeland and wife Leah of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Clint Copeland and wife Sandra of Colcord, Oklahoma; and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, July 14, 2017 at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, with Pastor Grant Barnett officiating. Burial will follow at Dickson Cemetery, Cherokee City, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.
Mr. Charles Robert Knighten, Sr.
Mr. Charles Robert Knighten, Sr., age 57, a resident of Foreman, Arkansas, died Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at his home.
He was born January 26, 1960 in Ashdown, Arkansas. He was a truck driver, served in the U.S. Army and National Guard and was a member of the Crossroads First Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family.
Mr. Knighten was preceded in death by his parents, A.C. Knighten and Patricia Langley.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Charles Knighten, Jr. and Brandie Knighten of Ashdown; his grandson, Darren Knighten; four brothers, Steve, George, Johnny and Vernon Knighten all of Foreman; one sister, Viola Moore of Tom, Oklahoma; aunts and uncles, Eddie and Margaret Knighten and Cardie and Jenise Knighten; his very good friends, Patty Hanks, Carla Sue, and Kasie Hanks.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 22, 2017, in the Gravelly Cemetery.
