Donald Ray Samuel, Sr.
Donald Ray Samuel, Sr. nicknamed by family as “Tooter”, by friends as Chief, and a select few as Tonto, was taken from this earth on May 22, 2017 to be with the Lord. He passed peacefully in his home in Humble Texas after fighting a fierce 2 1/2 year battle with cancer.
Donald was born in Talimena Oklahoma on November 25, 1958. He graduated from Smithville high school class of 77. Donald was married to Jay Harvey on August 29, 2015 while they were only married a short time they shared almost 10 years together.
Donald worked as a superintendent for Pyramid Waterproofing for over 17 years. He loved his job and often said it put him closer to God when he was atop a tall skyscraper. He had a passion for fishing and being on the water. Catch or no catch he was always at peace on the water. Donald was also a very competitive Dart player and an avid Texan football fan.
Donald is survived by his loving wife Jay Harvey, sons Donald Samuel, Jr. and Kevin Samuel, daughter MaryBeth Hollister, step children Tapanga Harvey and Gohan Harvey. Donald is also survived by his siblings Charles Samuel, Darlene Baker, Lacynthia Brannon, and Isaac Benn as well as several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, other family and friends.
Donald is preceded in death by his father Pat Joe Samuel, his mother Dora Bertha Wilson, brothers Dorman, Wilson, Benn Jr (Cobby), and Alfred Joe Samuel; his Grandmother Julia Tims and Daughter April Sherrill.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm on June 1st at Rosewood Funeral Home, in Humble TX. Oklahoma funeral services will be held at 1 pm at the Indian Baptist church of Smithville on June 3rd. Burial will follow this service at Beach cemetery, also in Smithville, Oklahoma under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Arlene Kathryn Robinson
Mrs. Arlene Kathryn Collins Robinson, age 85, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas, died Saturday, June 03, 2017, in the De Queen Medical Center.
She was born to William Harry and Laura Sylvia Gills Collins in Los Angeles, California, on April 30, 1932. She was a homemaker, and had a passion for animals.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Stanley Collins, a son, Eric Kirk Robinson, and 2011, her husband of 58 years, Edward Durand Robinson.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Guy and Elaine Robinson of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Rod and Darlene Robinson of Apopka, Florida, two daughters and sons-in-law, Gail Louise and Daryl Miller of Dierks, Arkansas, and Colleen Tracy and Scott Williams of Chico, California, and a several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Margie Brown Pumphrey
Mrs. Margie Brown Pumphrey, age 98, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas died May 31, 2017 in Dierks Health & Rehab.
She was born to John D. and Florence Anderson Brown in Sylvia, Kansas, on February 5, 1919. She was a homemaker and a member of the De Queen Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of over 50 years, Frank Pumphrey, three brothers, J.D. Brown, Franklin Brown, Chester Brown, and a sister, Roberta Gomer.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Vicki Pumphrey of De Queen, a daughter, Janette Pumphrey of Dierks; two granddaughters and their spouses, Faith and Tommy Klitz of Horatio and Melissa and Chris Suttle of De Queen; four great-grandchildren and their spouses, Summer and Tyler Irvan of Horatio, Bethany and Zach Gonzales of De Queen, Evan and Zachary Lee of Foreman, and Melia Marsh of De Queen; five great-grandchildren, Micah, Ashton, Anistyn, Bella, and Zayden; two nephews, Dennis Gomer and Robert Gomer, as well as other family members and a host of friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Margie Pumphrey will be held Monday, June 5, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Toney Stowers officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 9:00 A.M. until service time. Graveside services will be at 4:00 P.M., Monday, June 5th in the Oakland Cemetery, Warren, Arkansas.
Chiquetta Lynette Martin Smith
Mrs. Chiquetta Lynette Martin Smith, age 49, a resident of Foreman, Arkansas died Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at her home.
She was born July 19, 1967, in De Queen, Arkansas. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Jean Jewell Martin; her husband, Michael Smith; a son, Jackie Franks and a grandson, Kaden Martin.
She is survived by one daughter, Savanna Smith of Foreman; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gary Nelson Franks and Levi and Heather Martin all of De Queen; one brother and sister-in-law, Victor and Angela Martin of Horatio; her father, Gary Martin of Tennessee; one sister, Vickie Milam; one grandson, Mason Smith and one granddaughter, Skylar Thompson.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 2, 2017, in the Mineral Cemetery with Rev. Tim Johnson officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 1st at the funeral home.
Mr. Creal Gilmore
Mr. Creal Edward Gilmore, age 67, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, and former resident of Idabel, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at his home.
He was born to Hubert Lee and Agnes Nelson Gilmore in De Queen, Arkansas, on June 5, 1949. He was a deliveryman, and enjoyed yard work, dominoes, and cherished the time spent with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, and two brothers, Hubert Gilmore, and Darrell “Rock” Gilmore.
He is survived by his mother, Agnes Gilmore of De Queen, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Roy Gilmore of Muskegon Heights, Michigan, and Mike and Dione Gilmore of De Queen, four sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharon Robertson, Louise and Michael Goodman, and Lynette Gilmore all of De Queen, Emma and Albert Young of Carthage, Texas, two uncles, Arthur Gilmore and his wife, Thelma of Muskegon Heights, Michigan, and LeRoy Nelson of De Queen, an aunt, Willie and her husband, Jackie Boyles of De Queen, a special friend Robert Lee Bell, and a number of nieces and nephews, as well as a host of friends.

Floy M. Cox
Mrs. Floy M. Cox, age 83, a resident of Greens Chapel Community in Arkansas died Thursday, May 25, 2017, in De Queen, Arkansas.
She was born August 29, 1933, in Old New Hope Community to John and Lula Bell Riley Morris. She was a homemaker and was a member of Greens Chapel Methodist Church.
Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Horace Cox; her parents; and two sons, Mickey Cox and Terry Lynn Cox.
She is survived by one daughter, Anita Mays of Dierks; one sister Dean McSpadden of Greens Chapel Community; and several grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cox will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 27, 2017, in Greens Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. Carrol Jackson and Jerry Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Greens Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Friday the 26th at the funeral home in Dierks.
Marie Smith Oglesby
Mrs. Marie Smith Oglesby, 94, of King Ryder community near Crossroads, Arkansas, died Wednesday, May 24, 2017, in a local hospital. She was a resident of Little River Nursing and Rehab in Ashdown, Arkansas, for seven years.
Mrs. Oglesby was born February 22, 1923, in Arkinda, Arkansas to Willie P. and Mary Barton Smith. She was a homemaker, a retired grocer, and a member of the King Ryder Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Oglesby; her parents; two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Darrel and Sharon Oglesby; two daughters and sons-in-law, Anita and Billy Baker and Beatrice and Patrick Reed; one sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Gene Denbow of Yucca Valley, California; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Oglesby will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 27, 2017, at the King Ryder Church of Christ with James McRae officiating. Burial will follow in the Piney Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
