Mr. Kim Klitz
Mr. Kim Klitz, age 55, took his last horse ride in this life on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at his home in Winthrop, Arkansas.
He was born to Edward Lowell Klitz, Sr. and Artie Margaret Klitz in De Queen, Arkansas on January 10, 1962. He was a Christian and his passion was horses. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all, he enjoyed time spent with his family, most especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Ed Klitz, Jr. and Denis Klitz; his maternal grandparents, Bob and Susie Cobb Rich and Vertie Rich, as well as, his paternal grandparents, Edna Jacobs and Martin Klitz.
He is survived by his mother, Margaret Klitz of Winthrop; his wife of over 36 years, Dala Gwen Oglesby Klitz of Winthrop; one son and daughter-in-law, Clayton and April Klitz of Winthrop; one daughter and son-in-law, Monica and R.J. Forrest of Winthrop; five grandchildren, Caleb Klitz, Kylie Forrest, Cason Klitz, Addison Klitz and Aiden Forrest, all of Winthrop; a special set of in-laws, Edith and Brian Knighten of Winthrop. Kim is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, and other family members, as well as, a host of friends.
Memorial Services for Mr. Kim Klitz will be held, Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the Oak Grove Church of Christ Pavilion, Winthrop with Bill "Two Feathers" Bunting Officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen, Arkansas.
Mrs. Doris Williamson
Lily "Doris" Williamson, 90, of Horatio, AR, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2017.
Doris was born in Portsmouth, England on September 24, 1926, to the late Harold Clark and Elsie Shinn Clark.
Doris was "War Bride" during WWII and was married to Alfred Williamson on November 3, 1945, in London, England. They were married for 61 years until his death in 2007. She was employed at First National Bank De Queen as a teller, at State First National Bank Texarkana as a bookkeeper for several years and a substitute mail carrier in Horatio, AR for 10 years. She was a member of Williamson Community Church for over 40 years and a dedicated Sunday school teacher, song leader and board member. She enjoyed reading, travel and crossword puzzles. The most important part of her life was being surrounded by her family. Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by all who loved and cherished her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfred Williamson; her daughter and son-in-law, Ellen Vanessa and Samuel Harris; her siblings, William Clark and Thelma Clark.
She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Alfred Ray "Bud" Williamson of Jacksonville, Florida, and Paul and Deborah Williamson of Southam, England, three daughters and sons-in-law, Doris "Jeannie" and Arthur Schaffer of Horatio, Ar. Sandra Louise and Bob Edgin of Horatio, AR and Brenda Kay and Mark Chiarizio of Dallas, TX; one brother and sister-in-law Robert and Dorothy Clark; and two sisters-in-law, Janet Clark Tyas and Florence Williamson Banning. Six grandsons, Kenneth and Marianne Harris, Andrew and Lindsay Edgin, David and Katelyn Edgin, Matthew and Jessica Chiarizio, Brian Chiarizio, and Ethan Williamson; two granddaughters, Allison and Jason Lord and Amelia Williamson; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Mrs. Williamson will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 19, 2017, in Williamson Community Church, 555 Central Road, Horatio, Arkansas, with Rev. Jimmy Roden officiating. The family will meet at the Williamson home, 545 Central Road, Horatio, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to Williamson Community Church, 176 Bear Creek Cutoff, De Queen, AR 71832. Ms. Mary Ayers
Ms. Mary Darlene Cook Ayes, age 65, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed from this lie, Saturday, Mary 13, 2017 at Bear Creek Nursing and Rehab in De Queen.
She was born to Robert Earl and Lorraine Mae Scott Cook in Portland, Oregon on June 11, 1951.
She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as a son, David Duane Creekmore.
Mary is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Michael Haley of Pine Grove, California, two sons and daughter-in-law, Robert Creekmore of Bethel Island, California, and Jerry and Tanya Creekmore of De Queen; thirteen grandchildren, Rebecca Haley, Michael Haley, Amanda Haley, Cody Bradford, Savannah Haley, Carina Haley, Cynthia Creekmore, Thomas Creekmore, Keagan Thompson, Joshua Milikan, Cody Creekmore, Navie Madsen, and Maygin Creekmore; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Dennis Earl Cook, Donald Wayne Cook, and Steven Lee and Mary Cook.
Memorial services for Ms. Mary Ayers will be held Monday, May 22, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the First Pentecostal Church of God in De Queen. Cremation is under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Mr. Carroll Birge
Mr. Carroll Lonnie Birge, age 68, a resident of Damascus, Arkansas, and former resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed away in his sleep at his home Tuesday morning, May 9, 2017.
Carroll was born in De Queen, Arkansas, March 16, 1949 to Coolidge and Verba Lee Smith Birge. He graduated from De Queen High School and from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, Arkansas. He married Joy Ann Philpot, May 22, 1987 and they have two adult children, Brad and Jill Birge and three grandchildren, Lila Birge, Oliver Birge, and Joseph Birge.
Carroll was an avid water sportsman. He and his brother and sister all learned to swim when they were three years old. Carroll floated white water rivers all across the United States. The Cossatot was always special, flat bottom boats, canoes, and kayaks.
Carroll and his wife, Joy lived in Little Rock for many years where he worked as an accountant for Arkansas Power and Light Company and Telephone Company. After he retired, Carroll and Joy moved to their heavily wooded forty acre area on Cadron Creek. Carroll’s wife often said, “Carroll is as happy here as a clam with his chain saw, mountain bike, motorcycle and pick-up truck”. Carroll was preceded in death by his father, Coolidge Birge, both sets of grandparents, Mary and Albert Birge and Berta and Maynard Smith, whom he loved dearly, and spent much time with them.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Birge, son, Brad Birge, daughter, Jill Birge, and three grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Verba Lee Birge, his sister, Jerri Lynn Birge Rivers, a brother, Dexter, and his wife, Lynda Birge, two brother-in-law, Philip Philpot and Jim Philpot, several nieces, nephews, three aunts, two uncles and many cousins.
Carroll came to know Jesus at an early age and was baptized into First Baptist Church in De Queen. He loved the Lord, his family, home, friends and his dogs, Betty, Missy, and Penny.
Funeral Services for Mr. Carroll Birge will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, May 12, 2017 in the Little Rock Funeral Home, Little Rock, Arkansas. Burial will be at 2:30 P.M. Friday, May 12, 2017 in the Forrest Park Cemetery, Forrest, Arkansas, under the direction of Little Rock Funeral Home.
Wanda June "Peach" White
Wanda June “Peach,” White, age 74, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 8, 2017, in Bryant, Arkansas. She was born to Ted and Ona Borden White on June 1, 1942 in Dallas, Texas.
“Peach” lived with her Mother until her death in 1982. After her Mother’s death, she lived with her sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Melvin Wylie for thirty-four years.
The “light” of “Peach’s” life for the past ten years has been her great nieces, Abigail and Maci. She would always get so excited every time she saw them. Christy, her niece was always faithful to make sure she took her girls to visit “Peach” often. “Peach” liked country music and enjoyed going to concerts with Irene and Melvin. “Walker Texas Ranger” was her favorite TV show as well as “The Price is Right.” She spent many hours sitting on the front porch watching the various wild animals and also watching the cars go by.
Preceded in death by: Mother: Ona White Ferguson; Dad: Ted White; Sisters: Irene Wylie, Winnie Mae and Deloris White. Brothers: Eugene, Rufus, Raymond, Loyal and William White, Joey, Bobby and “Boo” Ferguson.
“Peach” is survived by her brother-in-law and caregiver, Melvin Wylie, special niece, Christy Wylie and extra special great nieces, Abigail and Maci Steele and numerous nieces and nephews.

Steven Glen Martin
Mr. Steven Glen Martin, age 58, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas, died Sunday, May 7, 2017, in Nashville, Arkansas.
He was born March 5, 1959 to Perry Wayne and Mary Lou Petet Martin in Panama City, Florida. He was a teacher and a retired coach of 33 years. He attended First Baptist Church in De Queen, Arkansas. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, and being “Paps” to his grandchildren.
Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents, Henry and Dean Petet and Perry Sr. and Mae Martin.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Davis Martin; his mother, Mary Lou Petet Martin of Dierks; one daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Trey Shelton of Dierks; three sons and daughters-in-law, Brad and Ann Martin of Georgetown, Texas, Brady and Jennifer Martin of Canyon, Texas, and Ben Martin of Benton, Arkansas; one brother, Tony Wayne Martin of Dierks; three grandchildren, Ali Shelton, Oliver Martin, and Calvin Martin; and many students and athletes to whom he was known as Coach Martin.
Funeral services for Mr. Martin will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at the Dierks High School Gymnasium with Brady Martin, Josh Herweck, and Micah Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Dierks Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.
Ila Grace Short Jones
Mrs. Ila Grace Short Jones, age 85, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas, died Sunday, May 7, 2017, in Dierks.
She was born Friday, January 1, 1932 to Frank and Dovie Lemmons Short in Dodson, Texas. She was a beautician, a Baptist, and attended the Assembly of God Church.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Archie Dale Jones; two brothers, Elroy and Johnny Short; and three sisters, Betty Halsley, Frankie Pritchett, and Joyce Russ.
She is survived by three sons, Archie Jones, Jr., Michael Frank Jones, and Jerry Jones all of Dierks; one grandson, Garry Jones; and eleven great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Grace Jones, Tracy Don Jones, Tyler Matthew Jones, Erin Jones, Amiee Jones, Megan Brooke Glover, Jeremy Ray Glover, Lorenzo Mayson Rabadon, Annabelle May Glover, Sadie Lynn Glover, and Jaden Ray Glover, and Treven Hill.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Jones will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 10, 2017, in Sunshine Cemetery in Dierks with J. W. Gilbert officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 9th at the funeral home in Dierks.
