Larry Thomas Sadler

Mr. Larry Thomas Sadler, age 68, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 at his home.

He was born June 5, 1948 in Lake Village, Arkansas. He was a Baptist and served in the National Guard. He was also a farmer, welder, and a heavy equipment operator.

Mr. Sadler was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Roxy Sadler; his first wife, Virgie McDaniel Sadler; a sister Vanita Grantham; and one sister-in-law, Barbara Klitz.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Williamson Sadler of Horatio; one daughter, Amy Cannady of Texarkana, Arkansas; three step children, Ginger Hale of Horatio, Shantal Wagner of Pearcy, Arkansas, and Nathan Dorsey of Horatio; one brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Delia Sadler of Winsboro, Louisiana; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Dian and Robert Lawrence of Gulf Shores, Alabama, and Doyce Lord of West Des Moines, Iowa; one brother-in-law, Raymond Grantham of Portland, Arkansas; four sisters-in-law and their spouses, Mary Jane and Jimmy Woodall, Pat and Danny Black, Diane Lightfoot, and Bobbie Sexton; and one brother-in-law and his wife, Ed and Johnnie Williamson; eleven grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m., Monday, March 20, 2017 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Portland Cemetery at Portland, Arkansas at 3:30 p.m., on Monday.

Mr. Bill Whisenhunt

Mr. Billy Jack Whisenhunt, age 76, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at his home.

He was born to B. R. and Myrtle Louise Carter Whisenhunt in Smithville, Oklahoma, on June 25, 1940. He served in the military with the U.S. Army. He had worked as a lead and zinc miner, a logger, and was owner of Bill's Tune Up. He had a passion for motorcycles, and working.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sons, Billy Whisenhunt, Johnny Lee Whisenhunt, and Ricky Alan Whisenhunt, a sister, Mary Carver, and a brother, Jerald Doyle Whisenhunt.

He is survived by his wife almost 60 years, Donna Daems Whisenhunt of De Queen, a daughter, Sheryl Ann Whisenhunt of De Queen, two grandchildren, Johnny and his wife, Krysti Whisenhunt of De Queen, and Ricky Jack Whisenhunt of Mississippi, a great-grandson, Preston Shane Whisenhunt of De Queen, Two brothers and sisters-on-law, Ben and Sandra Whisenhunt of Burney, California, George and Janet Whisenhunt of Lockesburg, Arkansas, a sister, Betty Lou Rowland of Burney, California, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 17th in the Chandler Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 P. M. Cremation will follow under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen, Arkansas.

Donald Paul Hudson

Mr. Donald Paul Hudson, age 57, a resident of Sherman, Texas, passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 at Medical City in Plano, Texas.

He was born August 11, 1959 in San Antonio, Texas. He loved spending time with his family and grandkids, riding his motorcycle and professional football.

Mr. Hudson was preceded in death by his father, John "Jack" Evans Hudson.

Mr. Hudson is survived by his wife, Johanna Hudson of Sherman, Texas; his mother, Victoria Hudson of San Antonio; four sons, John David and Steven Hudson of Lockesburg, Arkansas, Joey Turley and Anthony Hudson of Denison, Texas; one daughter, Shannon Dixon of Denison; three brothers, Larry, Wayne and Roy Hudson all of San Antonio.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Hudson will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 17, 2017 in the Lockesburg Community Center.

Gregory “Rollover” Terry

Mr. Gregory “Rollover” Terry, age 59, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Thursday, March 9, 2017, in Little Rock, Arkansas.

He was born on October 17, 1957, in Sacramento, California. He was a retired welder and a heavy equipment operator.

Mr. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Grover Athens and Mattie Lou Diggs Terry; and one brother, Leon Terry.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Terry; one daughter and son-in-law, Brandy and Brandon Melton; one son, Dustin Terry all of De Queen; two grandchildren, Jake Terry and Brilee Melton; one brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Stacey Terry of De Queen; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Robert Silvey of Sacramento and Susan and David Scoggins of Hot Springs, Arkansas; a step mother, Laverne Terry of Mt Ida, Arkansas; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial services for Mr. Terry will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 12, 2017 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jason Carlton officiating.

Mrs. Betty Hedge

Mrs. Betty Jean Stewart Hedge, age 77, a resident of Grannis, Arkansas, died Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at her home. She was born to Curtis Lee and Mattie Marie Miller Stewart in Fort Worth, Texas, on August 26, 1939.

She was retired from the Union Bank in Wickes, where she was a loan officer, as well as a homemaker. She enjoyed antiques, yard work and flowers, and cherished the time spent with family, especially her children and grandchildren, and was so looking forward to her first great-grandchild, Elliott Hedge, soon to be born.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Bill Stewart, a sister, Maxine Cook, and her husband of over 50 years, Burl Hedge.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Marcie Hedge of De Queen, a daughter and son in law, Tracy and Andy Youngblood of Grannis, three grandsons, Toby and his wife, Sara Hedge of Fayetteville, Ben Youngblood of Grannis and Tanner Hedge of De Queen, two granddaughters, McKenzie Morphew of De Queen and Matti Youngblood of Grannis, Arkansas, a sister-in-law, Pat Stewart of Grannis, Arkansas, and a dear friend, she considered a sister, Julie Neely of Porter, Texas, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Betty Hedge will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, March 11, 2017 in the Church of the Nazarene in Wickes, with Bro. David Baker and Bro. Leon McCleskey officiating. Burial will follow in the Baker Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Visitation will be from 2:00 until service time on Saturday, at the Church of the Nazarene in Wickes.

E.C. Shelton

Mr. E.C. Shelton, age 51, a resident of Gillham, Arkansas, died Sunday, March 5, 2017 in Lubbock, Texas.

He was born to Earnest Clifton, Sr. and Wanda Marcelle Gentry Shelton in Dallas, Texas, on September 20, 1965. EC served in the military with the Army National Guard. He was a heavy equipment operator in the oil field pipeline infrastructure construction, and was a member of the First Baptist .Church of Grannis, Arkansas. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, disc golf, bow and arrow hunting, outdoors, and was an animal lover. Above all, EC was a devoted and loving Dad and Pappy. Nobody made him step forward in the time of crisis. He did it because of who he was.

He was preceded in death by his father, two brothers, Darrell Chambers, Eugene Shelton, and a sister-in-law, Mona Shelton.

He is survived by his mother Marcelle Shelton of De Queen, two sons, Derrick and Mary Shelton of El Dorado, Arkansas, and Colton Shelton of De Queen, a daughter, Gracie Shelton of De Queen, Arkansas, a brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Karla Shelton of Horatio, three sisters and a brother-in-law, Ernestine Shelton of De Queen, Tammy and Rick Riggs of Norman, Oklahoma, and Teresa Lancaster of Lake Charles, Louisiana, a grandson, D. J. Shelton of El Dorado, Arkansas, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Cremation under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen, Arkansas.

A Celebration of E. C. Shelton's life will take place at Cossatot Reef's Pavilion Area on Gillham Lake at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 18th Rain or Shine.

In honor of E. C. feel free to wear camo, if desired. Person's wanting to be seated during the celebration will need to bring a lawn chair.

M.C. McElroy

Mr. M.C. McElroy, age 83, a resident of Texarkana, Texas, died Friday, March 3, 2017 in Post Acute Care Hospital of Texarkana.

He was born to Tiny and Ann Simpson McElroy in Lockesburg in Lockesburg, Arkansas, on July 26, 1933. He was a mechanic , and a Baptist. He enjoyed neighborhood baseball, where he umpired, collecting collectables, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ella Mae McElroy, and a daughter, Cynthia McElroy.

He is survived by his companion, Bobbie Gray of Texarkana, Texas, a son and daughter-in-law, Earl and Karla Easter of Ashdown, two daughters, Yvonne and Yvette Murphy of Ashdown, Arkansas; a brother, Milburn McElroy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, four sisters, Carolyn McElroy of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dorothy Alberty of Idabel, Oklahoma, Jean Minger of Paris, Texas and Christy Gaffney of Grant, Oklahoma, and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces and nephews and other family members.

Funeral Services for Mr. MC McElroy will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 11, 2017 in the New Zion Baptist Church, Lockesburg, with Rev. Larry Clardy officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Community Cemetery, Lockesburg, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Visitation will be Friday, March 10th from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Chandler Funeral Home.
